Ganymede was a little disappointed that Valhalla didn’t pay enough attention to his memory to determine if she was right, but she couldn’t be upset about it for long because he took the invitation and came closer to her. She tilted her head up to meet him for the kiss, lifting her arms to wrap them loosely around his neck.
“I love you, too,” she said, then laughed lightly. “I’d like that.”
As much as she didn’t want her children involved in the war, she liked the thought of bringing them to places like Ganymede and Valhalla, so long as they were made safe for them (and she was doing what she could to make sure that her homeworld was at least). After all, it was part of who they were, particularly Valhalla. They should learn about parts of their heritage whether or not she or Valhalla could tell them everything. Simply being around it and experiencing it for themselves would be enough.
Gently she guided Valhalla closer to her, leaning into his chest with her arms still wrapped around his neck. She tilted her head the side and smiled at him.
“Any time,” she said.

Part of him wasn’t sure if he would ever get his starseed fixed, or if he was going to even live much longer, but he was determined to make the most of it and keep going as though they would figure something out. Valhalla smiled back at her as she looked up at him, feeling at least content for the time being.
Out of the corner of his eye, he could see where Serge and Liesel had wandered off to. At some point it seemed as though Liesel finally cornered Serge into facing him, and sure enough, as Ganymede predicted, they were making out behind one of the trees.
Valhalla snorted softly and leaned down for another quick kiss. “You were right.”
