And just as Rebecca finished her last train of thought, the shadow that was supposed to be just building behind her separated from the darkness. From it rose strange, white shapes that approached closer still.
- In that half a second, before her mind could even register, there was a loud snap, tearing through half of her body, ripping it instantly. Her legs thrashed on the floor, the upper half gone entirely.
They didn't stop twitching, not for a while longer.

Granny Smith was still in celebration mode when she heard the snap. She turned still mostly blind and tried to peer at Rebecca.
"Rebecca? Do we have a...." she saw the shapes, smelled blood. not the old rotten kind. The kind that hit deep in your noes and tasted of iron. She saw something flopping about on the ground.
"s**t!" Megan screamed in horror as the shadow snapped Rebecca clear in half. "What...!"
She wasn't going to stick around to finish her sentence. Instinct took over. She sure as hell wasn't going to fight that. She bolted and took Granny's arm in a death grip as she flew past. It was hard to breathe. It was hard to run. It was hard to think. But adrenaline does amazing things.
"It... Rebecca... torn in... half..." That was all she managed to gasp out between breaths as they went.

You can't really tell how old she is; she looks like she's 17, but all Asians look 17 until they're like 60 so that isn't a very good measure. Wearing what appears to be pale green scrubs and some runners that might have been white a month ago. Her hair is tied up with something thick, black, and ribbonlike. And possibly fuzzy.
