Turn 1

Apparently its appearance had little to no effect. Every single one of those Baiters ignored it in favor of looking at the others. The Harbinger and its gruesome display, the Queen as regal as ever, and that midget of an A.I., the Witch Doctor. What about them drew the attention?! It was one of the two strongest here!

It was the strongest here!

Yet these soon to be meals thought it deserved no attention what so ever! It would show them! It was worth every second of their attention! They would have to mind it! Otherwise it would crush the lot of them! Knock them unconscious, break all their s**t, and then eat them!

The longer they ignored it, the crueler it would get. If this lasted too long, it might just have to start at their feet.

It watched as the first to react completely ignored it and attacked the smallest of them, causing yet more irritation to bloom in its chest. It would not be ignored damn it! To make matters worse, one of the small ones also went for the tiny A.I., completely ignoring the giant crab like creature.

It knew it was terrifying, but to be ignored so easily?! It might not be able to hold back in this fight. It might lose all sense of control and just destroy all of them, regardless of their plans.

The straw that broke the camel's back was when another of the Baiters moved to attack, the one who looked the worst off, but instead of attacking it, he attacked the b*****d of a Harbinger in front of it.

You could almost watch the giant crab snap.

He roared, a loud roar, bubbles foaming around his mouth, its eyes literally turning red. Without thinking about the tactical advantages or disadvantages of how it would handle the fight, the large creature launched itself at the man coated in lighting, bringing around one of its massive claws in a horizontal attack towards the man's head.

Ilya was only at the wall for a few moments before he was pulled back by Corrinne into the safety of her arms. It was all happening so fast, rendering Ilya almost completely lost. Corrine yelled at Kawa, who seemed like he was already about to fall into a puddle, Thre screamed and attacked the wall, and Corrinne still didn’t know what to do at first. Then, suddenly, four AI’s showed like it was nothing. The battle started within seconds, everyone respectively springing into action like it was second nature.

But Ilya couldn’t get passed the Baiter dying before him. The fresh blood splatter all over the walls, and the laughter of the AI stuck in his mind. His blue eyes went wide at the sight, frozen in place. Ilya barely registered Corrinne speak to him, and he barely was able to register anything else that had happened. Instead, tears now fell from his eyes as he stared blankly at the Harbinger. The Harbinger, though, seemed not too focused on him at the moment, as soon Kawa dashed forward and attempted quick slash attacks against the thing. Ilya watched as Kawa engulfed himself in lighting and launched himself into the demon that caused them all the most grief. Kawa could fight through his issues… That was what it took to be a baiter. He had to stand and fight and do what he had to through his pain and sorrow at seeing someone needlessly die.

Looking to the side, he could see his new friend and his best friend do the same. Though he knew that Thre had an issue with cold and the dead, she was still fighting. She was still doing her best to beat her enemy down to the end of its existence. The same was happening with Corrinne, though he still didn’t know her struggles. She still stood up to protect everyone when she knew she was the weakest.

Shouldn’t Ilya do the same? The little boy wiped away his tears. Besides… If he simply stood there crying, what good was it going to do? It certainly wouldn’t save the rest of those baiters in there. So Ilya had to take a deep breath and stay vigilant.

Something then jumped at him, attempting to latch onto him and bite him with a gross ferocity that scared him to death. Lucky for him he managed to see the attack with enough time to dodge roll away, the Queen landing on the floor rather than on him. Tears still streamed down his face when he looked up, but now he could see and fight through them. Pulling out his trusty yoyo’s, Ilya shot into action. He was still weak, yes, but there was still some things he could do to help. Dashing forward, Ilya ran around the larva, circling around it to get the best placement of action before doing anything. Then, with as much forward momentum as he could muster, threw one of his yoyos towards the beast that challenged him.

Ilya knew he was young, and knew that he wasn’t the smartest person in the world… But even still, he had to try his best. Kawa was doing it despite obvious trauma. Thre was doing it despite her weakness in the cold. Corrinne was doing despite weakness of body. He could do it despite being intelligent and unskilled. One day, one day soon, Ilya would be on a whole other level. He only prayed that he wouldn’t die again before that would happen.

"Heh heh heh! Hah hah hah!"

The clearly insane core laughed, though what on earth it found so humorous was beyond anyone there. Even his teammates that had come at his beck and call had no idea why he laughed all the time. They just went with it, because it was some of the best psychological warfare they'd ever seen.

"Hehe hehe hehe hehe!

There wasn't a lot that could unsettle an opponent more than a being that wanted to flay you alive while laughing their a** off. Which was awesome for this particular group, because they were all twisted and demented in their own way. He lit the fuse, and they all fell in line with the charade.

"Hah! Hah hah hah!

The Harbinger didn't even seem to care about the presence of those who were supposed to be working at his side. The blood dripping off its blade, and the fact that its eyes were locked on the weakest member of the group, even as they tried to coordinate made that completely evident.

"Heh heh heh, hah haha hah!

Suddenly there was a ball of lightning in his face, though the surprise that should have been there was completely absent. The creature barely even seemed to register the presence of the Baiter, figuring things would work out the way they always had. It wasn't until the sounds of metal being destroyed that it took pause, looking down almost uncomprehendingly at the fact that his body had just been cut to pieces before he could even react. He tilted his head, and made his last sound as he turned into a floating ball of code.

"Heh heh heh heh. Hah hah hah haaaah."

Was Corrinne really thinking when she went in to attack the Witch Doctor? Probably not - she was reacting on instinct to protect her friends. So when the Witch Doctor grinned at her she felt her stomach turn. ‘Did I make a mistake,’ She thought to herself as their staffs collided.

Fool! You think you can challenge me?” The reptile asked pushing her away forcefully with its staff, “You can’t even challenge the others in your own group. You are weak.

Corrinne didn’t know what he meant by his last comment but the first did make her question her own judgment. What was she doing there? Should she have agreed to this mission? Before she could think another doubtful thought, Thre followed Corrinne’s attack on the Witch Doctor with the morphing trick she performed earlier on the shield. Corrinne took her staff and stepped aside as the young girls arms transformed into larger, dark versions of what was originally there. Gawking in surprise, Corrinne fully expected this to finish off the creature. However, it seemed as though the reptile anticipated her attack and moved to the side, just barely missing Thre’s attacks.

And you! You are a child! You have no hope to do anything in this battle. You will die just as quickly as this whore.” The creature cackled and moved out of harms way just long enough to decide to jump back and attack the young girl in the face.

Hey!” Corrinne barked at the reptile, “You come back here, you little piece of s**t!” Her emotions began to take over again as she darted off to follow the creature as it ran away to higher ground.

She didn’t appreciated it calling her a whore, and she especially didn’t like it insulting Thre, then trying to kick a child in the face! ‘What a monster,’ She thought to herself as she readied her staff again and approached the creature from behind. Looking down from the vantage point the two had, she saw the others beginning to battle. Kawaguchi dashed into action with his blade unsheathed as fast as lightning, slicing the Harbinger to bits. ‘Well that’s one down,’ Corrinne thought to herself. Then for a moment she was worried about Ilya for the other insect like creature jumped onto him. But Ilya quickly evaded the creature then turned on it to fight.

Starting to feel comfortable again, Corrinne tightened her grip on the reaper staff as she eyed the back of the Witch Doctor. Making sure not to make a sound as she pulled the staff back then thrust one of the pointed ends forward towards the Witch Doctor’s back.

The biting, bitter cold was brutal, chewing away at her transformed flesh like a carnivore. It was made all the worse when the lizard b*****d dodged her attacks, forcing her to plunge her already cold hands into the even colder ground.

She bit her lip so hard, she was surprised she didn't taste the oddly fruity taste of her own blood.

'Endure it!' She basically screamed into her head. The pain was unreal. She knew she had no choice though. She had to fight through it. If she just lay there on the ground and gave up, who knew how many of them would fail. She didn't think she was all important, but she certainly knew she was needed.

The creature decided it was going to talk s**t as it dodged around their attacks. First it called Corrinne weak, which she couldn't help but agree with. She was, technically, the weakest member there. Then it called her useless, which definitely riled her up, causing her to blatantly ignore the calming sensations being sent her way from Summer.

The strangest bit came when the small beast called Corrinne a whore.

She felt a surprisingly large burst of anger at the A.I., indignant on Corrinne's behalf. How dare that little tiny b*****d?! She was the only one allowed to insult Corrinne. Now some half pint little punk a**!!

Immediately her arms shifted forms, once more bringing to bare a different weapon. This time her arm was the Gatling gun, the shifting from giant fist to machine gun was very fluid.

She lifted it and aimed at the pipsqueak, "Hey, pocket-sized leprechaun, eat this!" As she said that she unleashed hell, making sure only to wait long enough for Corrinne to get out of the line of fire.

The small creature, while moving this way and that to avoid attacks, couldn’t help but notice one of the strongest allies it had fall in a few momentary swipes, unable to even get in an attack before perishing. Taken down by the man who looked like he was about to break under his own mental strain. Damn it… He had hoped that one was out for the count, unable to participate in the battle. The small creature cursed, focusing back on the battle before it. The two women were still at it, trying to take him down first, before the others.

It would take more than a simple jab, though.

Jumping up, the creature dodged the red heads with ease, then used the end of the staff as a springboard to launch itself back into the battle, fully intent on going after the Asian man for killing its friend. It soared through the air, the bullets coming from the little girl missing it entirely. All except one.

A stray bullet nicked the lizard in the shoulder, causing it to crash to the floor as fast as it flew. It landed with a loud thump, pain flowing through the creature at ridiculous speeds. Damn, things were not looking good already. One of his allies were down for the count, meanwhile itself was hit and bleeding. It was only a matter of time before it was hit as well…

Sitting up, it looked towards the women who were attacking it. Damn, it would have to take care of this itself. Fine, that was how it was going to be then. Once more, the creature rushed forward to attack the older of the two women. If they were going to attack it for being the weakest member, it could easily do the same. Staff against staff, the creature swiped at her with its bone staff, aiming first to take out her head, then to take her breath away. A quick jab to the chest and head would do it, then it would be able to take off and do what it needed to do…And that was properly support its allies.

In the blink of an eye, the Harbinger was gone, floating just above the snow in a ball of code. Akio took a few deep breaths, trying to calm his mind before he made his next move. Nothing was going to go right if he attacked while only seeing red. Fighting angry, or upset, was going to do nothing again. And, thankfully, the Harbinger was dead. This actually helped calm him quite a bit. At least enough to keep his head about things. With one final deep breath in, he surveyed the arena. With the Harbinger dead, there were only three AI’s left for them to fight. Two were on the Witch Doctor, likely leaving said beast dead fairly soon, allowing them to move on to the Queen Larvae and the Crushtacean. Perfect. The mission was actually going as smoothly as it could.

For now, it would be best for him to work with the Crushtacean. It was the biggest and the toughest creature there, and was likely to be the one to cause the most issues. And, it seemed, that the creature also had it in for him. Swiftly, the creature charged at him. Akio spun, sword out, deflecting the attack with ease. Akio smirked, playing it as cool as he possibly could. He was still shaky, and he could feel the same headache that he had been fighting about an hour prior, but he was at least there enough to work through the fight. That much he was good for. And that’s all he really wanted to do. Get through the fight, get the information, and get everyone home.

“Revenge is sweet~” He muttered, standing up straight, sparks flying off his body once again. How interesting. This creature was the very same one that he fought in his HALF, the one that resided in his mind until his first mission. He had to be completely honest, though; this new core was much better. It was so cool to be covered in lighting. But with his hands so shaky, it was hard to feel as cool as he usually did. He felt himself longing to be covered in mathematics homework, programs to script, and robots to create. Possibly even, God forbid, English essays. Anything but this battle.

Still, he had to stay and fight, then go home and take the longest nap imaginable.

So, as the creature stepped back in recoil from Akio’s counter, Akio dashed forward once again in attack, this time towards the Crushtacean. This time, he only managed to get in three attacks before he had to stop. Three swings into the Crushtacean was still three attacks that could hit though, and that was what mattered. The first attack moved up and along the creature's chest area. It was a long sweeping attack that would move from one end of the beast to the other. The next attack was also rather simple, Akio moving through the one motion only to connect and continue with his built up momentum. This lead up into a swing that came into contact with the beast at the left claw, hoping to slice it a decent amount before Akio would move on. The third swing was another upwards diagonal slash towards the creature. This one would hopefully connect with the other claw, slicing that one in two as well.

Whatever it was, he hoped to slice it down just as fast as the Harbinger. He wasn’t confident that it would end so fast, but he would love for it to happen. Slicing each enemy down with only a few simple strikes would make him really feel like he moved up in the world. Or, at the very least, in this organization. Power was key here, and he knew strength wasn’t his top ability. He was a speedster working in a strength monkeys world. Something he would have to discuss with his Granny, for sure. After his long nap, of course.

Slithering and sliding, the creature somehow managed to miss its first attack on the young boy. It hissed, sliding to one side and making a series of disappointed clicking noises. The boy was faster than she had expected, managing to somehow move one way and another to avoid both the squeeze attack and the bite. He was a mere child! How dare he dodge her graceful and beautiful attacks! Another growl escaped her mandibles as she thought of another way to strike.

Meanwhile, her teammates were still struggling with this group. The Harbinger was shot down with a few strikes from the man covered in lightning. While impressed, she was incredibly frustrated that it had come to this. They were a team of incredible AI’s that were able to destroyed whole teams of Baiters before. And yet here they all were… Being calmly taken down by simpletones, ones who had barely taken down anything. The one with mental issues, two children, and some floozy b***h who thought she could handle everything while being the weakest member. How… How on earth were they being cut down so fast? Almost everyone had taken damage while she wasn’t looking… Everyone but her and the Crushtacean, and that was only because he hadn't been attacked, and she was still recovering from an attack.

A yoyo darted out of nowhere, the creature only barely managing to dodge out of the way before she could look at the source of the strike. She didn’t have to look to know, though. The tiny boy retracted his yoyo with fear still lingering in his eyes. How sad… He was about to meet his end, and he knew it. He very well knew it…

The female larvae slithered forward again with a disgusting amount of speed. This time, she aimed to wreck the bo, dying his beautiful white hair red. The first attack was another grab, using its long spindly legs to draw the boy in closer. He was small and quick, but she knew her grabs were the best chance at actually doing damage to the small boy. So, she made the attempt, then flexed her abdominal muscles to push out stinger and stab the boy with it. It was long enough that it would cause a great deal of damage, but she could only use it once. It was the downfall of her attack, but she needed to use it nonetheless. Otherwise, she feared that the rest of the battle wouldn’t go very far. There was a large chance that they would all die.

The man was distracted! This would be the perfect chance! It was the biggest and the strongest! It would cave this man in like an empty can! It could feel every ounce of energy it was pouring into the attack, the wind rippling over its hard shell.

With a shocking amount of speed, the man who seemed lost, just turned aside its attack like it was moving at a snail’s pace.

It was so surprised, the creature backtracked a step, its substantial weight pushed back by the momentum of its own attack. The man took no time in taking advantage of this, stepping right into its guard and attacking it. The first attack missed only barely, scraping along its hard shell but doing nothing to it more than leaving a small scratch.

The second attack was terrible.

It ripped right through its claw. With a terrible screech it watched as its detached limb fell to the ground, its body scuttling backwards as fast as it could to dodge the next attack.

It stared at its missing claw, shaking in rage and pain, its whole body off balance with the huge missing weight. It started foaming at the mouth again, its eyes turning to stare at the Baiter that damaged it so much, and though they were locked on that man, its eyes were unfocused.

It charged forward, stumbling over everything in its path, but no less dangerous, and when it was finally in range, it didn't stop moving. It continued to carry its weight as fast as it could, hoping to tackle right into the man with the full weight of its body.

Ilya was already short of breath, but it wasn’t yet from exhaustion. For the time being, he still had truck loads of stamina left in him to fight. No, this time it was his fear of a repetition. He didn’t want what happened in the last mission to happen again. Acel turing into the ‘Angel’ had left him with a horrible taste in his mouth. Once Kawa had engulfed himself in lighting, the small boy flinched, worried that the man would turn himself into something just as unsettling as Acel did. Nervously, Ilya would flick his eyes over to where the man fought, taking down one AI at a time. He hoped it wouldn’t happen again, hoped beyond anything that everything would be okay. And while Ilya didn’t believe that Akio would be the kind of guy to turn on him, but he had been wrong before. Acel was kind and sweet… He was just…

Ilya shuddered, trying to focus himself back on the battle. Things were in the process of taking damage, and he was supposed to be doing the same thing with his creature. The Queen Larva was still charging, slithering at him grossly with all her might in order to sting him. He HAD to focus on this and not what the others were doing. He was the only one who’s enemy hadn’t taken damage, or even flat out die. In the first battle he had ever really been in, he had died. That wasn’t gonna happen this time. Not. At. All. So, when the boys attack missed and the giant larvae, he almost wanted to cry. How was he supposed to get stronger if he couldn’t even do anything in battle!

The small boy couldn’t help be be very frustrated. Everyone had spilled blood on their enemy, and yet here he was. Playing cat and mouse with one of the weaker AI’s in the party. Ilya wanted to cry so bad. Tears even welled up in his eyes, making it difficult to see. Unfortunately, this was right about the time that the creature dashed forward and attacked the small boy. Ilya moved his hand to wipe at his eyes, leaving himself wide open to an attack. The Queen took this very moment to try again to attack Ilya, who could not see out of frustration. The Queen moved fast, but Ilya managed to see movement through one open and blurry eye and was able to move just barely out of the way. Still shaken, the boy moved once again to grab his bearings. His breaths were shallow and his head was spinning. What if that happened in a much larger battle? Or, worse, he hadn’t gotten so lucky and had gotten impaled. The fight would have been over for him… He would have failed his mother for the second time in the same day. That was one thing he could stand to even think about. That was not an option to him, and it never has been.

So the boy took a deep breath and continued the fight. He had to! Ilya huffed out and once again shot out his yoyo, flinging it out at the creature that he was fighting. He desperately wanted to get better. Right at that moment, he was incredibly weak and small. He felt like he was never going to truly reach the level that Kawa had gotten to. But damn it if he wouldn’t try! Gavriil was still with him, and that made this fight all the better. His yoyo, reinforced with the strongest metal that he didn’t know, shot towards the larvae AI. He aimed for her chest area, hoping that it would do just enough damage to knock her away. All he had to do right now was make sure she was distracted long enough to let Kawa take care of his own enemy, then take care of Ilyas… He didn’t like the idea, really, but it was what had to happen for the battle to move along. As long as he didn’t die again… As long as that didn’t happen at all, everything was going to be okay. He had to breath. Everything was going to be okay…

Corrinne moved away in time to watch the rain of bullets emitting from Thre’s Gatling gun arms. It was truly remarkable; Corrinne couldn’t even understand where the bullets were coming from? Were they apart of the girl? Or was she absorbing energy from the atmosphere around her? She decided not to dwell on it for too long, as it would distract from the fight, taking place in front of her. The lizard creature moved around wildly trying to avoid the bullets but Corrinne knew it wouldn’t be long till one of them hit. Right as the creature seemed to be moving away from their fight to aid its fellow comrades, it missed the notice of a stray bullet from Thre’s gun. The bullet just barely touched the creatures shoulder but this was enough to topple the lizard creature to the ground.

Once down the Witch Doctor seemed confused and looked at its opponents directly. Corrinne readied herself for anything as she braced herself for an attack. It seemed angry and agitated as it lashed out in Corrinne’s direction. The staff grew warm in her hands as she heard a voice in her head say, ‘block,’ at that moment her arms lifted the Reaper Staff into a firm block position. The two staffs collided again and she could see the pain in the Witch Doctor’s face from the wound it had acquired earlier.

No,” Corrinne said aloud as she dodged the next attack to her chest. ‘I don’t want to do this anymore,’ She thought to herself as she moved away from the lizard creature just enough to get a better vantage point. Seeing the pain the creature was in was affected Corrinne – she had never really fought in combat before. The first time was more like a simulation in her mind; and to her that meant the sky was the limit and whatever she was doing to the Reaper Crab was all in her imagination, nothing more. The second was in a tournament, where the actual chance of killing her opponent was a one percent chance out of a hundred!

Her natural care giving senses flooded her emotional state and for a moment she softened as she looked around at the rest of the group. ‘I don’t want to do this,’ She repeated again in her mind. Then suddenly the voice that spoke earlier in her head began to chatter ‘you have to’. The voice was strange – whispery and snappish – as if it were irritated by her compassion. ‘Who are you?’ She thought but nothing returned her question; instead her system started to course with the need to fight again. She could feel her hands grip around the Reaper Staff and suddenly the thorns on the staff began to grow. Her eyes grew red again as she began to spin the staff intuitively. Looking ahead at the weakened angry creature she leapt forward and spun the now deadly looking staff in the direction of the Witch Doctor’s head – returning in kind its original attack for her.

She knew that just her attack wouldn’t be enough to take this AI down - but hopefully with Thre’s involvement, the two of them would eventually be able to finish the job.

Turn 3

She felt her body getting lighter, as though tiny parts of herself were vanishing. It was perhaps the most peculiar sensation to describe.

However, before she could truly attempt to figure out what exactly that meant, she spotted the small explosion of red that followed a bullet landing. This caused a smirk to cross her lips. Once again she started off doubting herself, and those around her, and yet they were doing just fine.

If her fight was anything to judge by.

She watched as the creature seemed at most displeased by the fact it'd been shot. She felt a little dissatisfied by this, deciding she would personally plant her fist into the slimy thing's face.

Suddenly a hiss of pain escaped her lips, and she quickly turned her weapon back into her normal arm. The tips of her fingers were a vicious red, this cold was absolutely brutal. The good news though, was it afforded her a moment to examine the battlefield, bringing in a rare instant of crystal clarity.

Corrinne, as much as she hated to admit it, was doing rather well herself. Blocking the attack from the reptile that was giving them issue without too much hesitation. Having been in more than one situation where the people hunting her down had orders to capture her, she could recognize hesitation, and Corrinne was reeking of it. However, she was still standing on her own two feet, and appeared determined to keep it that way.

Ilya was barely holding his own against the disgusting looking insect like creature he was fighting, but he wasn't doing too bad. However, the look on his face spoke of despair, and that worried her. A small pang of worry stabbed into her heart, but she knew that for as much as she wanted to help him, he needed this fight.

If things started to get too dicey, she would step in in a heartbeat, but for now the duo consisting of Thre and Corrinne were doing too good against the Reptile to let it go.

Finally, her gaze fell upon Zeus himself. Or rather, he might as well have been based on the look in Thre's eyes. Akio was so powerful he already dropped his first enemy, and was surging with energy as he worked on his second. The electricity dancing across the parts of his body gave him such a badass look, there was simply no comparison in her mind. From now on, what Thre considers 'sexy' will forever be weighed against this sight before her.

She quickly shook her head, a painful throb from her fingers reminding her she was in a precarious situation. While things looked like they were tilted in their scales, one wrong move could cause them to die. She would not be that thing. She quickly raced forward as fast as she could, aiming her charge right towards the Witch Doctor.

Taking care to make sure that when she did this, she wouldn't accidentally swing at Corrinne, mostly due to a slowly growing, grudging respect. She pulled her arms back and quick as lighting brought them forward, one and then immediately the other, making a sort of 'x' shape. While this was happening, with a little help from Summer, her hands turned into claws at just the last moment so as to reduce the harm she would take.

The Witch Doctor couldn’t help but feel extraordinarily upset. The creature had fallen previously to the girl, but it would not let this happen again! Gripping its staff again, it readied itself for whatever that would come its way. Now, it paid no mind to the others participating in the fight. The others had their own agendas and it could not afford to split its attention to other participants. The woman with the short red hair was a pain in his but, always managing to block his attacks and never taking any freaking damage whatsoever! The mere concept was frustrating. How dare she not take a hit? How dare she not fall like the others? The creature frowned when she blocked another one of her attacks so seamlessly. She was infuriatingly capable. At least more than it suspected she would be, being the weakest creature there. She then uttered ‘no like her opinion mattered! No what? Grinding its teeth once more, it stepped back, thinking more on what the dastardly woman thought she was even talking to or about.

She then made her own move to attack. Her eyes glowed red once more as she spun the staff in her hand rapidly. The woman was good… But it knew it was still better, by far. After all, it was an AI designed by the very hand of God to destroy these humans who had to better themselves with technology they barely knew how to use! The thing grinned, merely stepping away from the woman to avoid the attack. So outrageously simple to do, as well. To think that she even thought she would be able this was absolutely hilarious to the creature. It stepped out of the way so cleanly and gracefully, then bounced out of the way. From this point, it could keep an eye on both parties that were attacking it, easily making way to dodge the other attacks.

Unfortunately, as it was doing so, the young girl came flying in from his side in such a way as to surprise the creature. It was two successive attacks that threw the creature off balance and back onto its butt in an extreme amount of pain. It now wore three painful wounds all about its body, all of them bleeding profusely. Or, at least, what looked to be what could be blood. It was a strange greenish goop that leaked out of the gaping wounds. It was a nasty color, dripping on the floor and freezing into a puke green ice on the ground. The creature tried to stand, slipping somewhat before it managed to get on its feet. This girl…. While the redhead was unable to land any attacks on the creature, the little girl was hitting it left and right. It was so damn frustrating! It was low on health now… It could feel it.

But that wouldn’t stop the creature from trying to continue to attack and take the woman down as much as it could before it was taken down. The creature shot forward, swinging its bone staff towards the woman with serious fervor. Really, it wanted to attack the little girl, as she was the one who was really pissing the creature off, but it had a plan. It wanted to take out the weakest link to make the lives of its allies so much easier. Then, it would get the girl who was already showing signs of fading. She was weakening, but still at a higher power than the woman. Therefore, it still wanted to attack the weaker foe, much like a wolf would attack the straggling, sick ox of a heard. It was the strategy of prime hunters.

Akio was still shaking, but he was getting a better grasp of himself. As the fight raged on, he could feel himself focus on his attacker more and more, able to cleanly land in at least one of his attacks. Good, he was coming back… And while he felt like after this mission he was going to be an absolute wreck, he still could see himself moving forward at a decent pace. Akio felt his katana slice through the creature's claws cleanly, barely catching on anything. He wasn’t sure if all AI’s bleed, but this one certainly did lose its limb. It scuttled back, giving Akio just enough time to take in a few deep breaths. He could no longer feel his hands, though now he wasn’t quite sure if that was from his dissociation or from the cold.

Akio placed his hands on his knees, breathing in as best he could in the short moment that he had. Damn, this was much more difficult than it really should have been. Gritting his teeth, the man looked up again, fighting through the pain in his head and hands. He refused to let this group down the way he did … No, he couldn’t continue down that thought process. He had to keep his head in the fight and think about that later. Readying his weapon again, the man watched as the crab charged at him once again. It charged fast, yet clumsy. It stumbled over everything, even slipping on the pool of ice blood that was pooling along the floor. Akio slipped a little, mostly because he wasn’t used to the texture, but was able to catch himself before he either fell or lost his balance. Growing up on the ice, it made it easier to walk on it just fine. The man gracefully stepped to the side, allowing the creature to tumble along its path passed Akio to a stop somewhere nearby. Akio turned, bursting into lighting again with a slow exhale. He was ready to end this fight right where they all stood, quickly and painfully.

Akio glanced over to make sure that the baiters they were here to save were all alive, quickly making a check of their vital signs. They were all still alive for the time being, heart's still beating strong but every slower. However, there was one face among the living that caught his eye, one that he could never rightfully forget. It was a man roughly around the age of 30, maybe 35, with dirty blond hair and fading blue eyes, muscular in build and much taller than Akio. The Asian man’s heart beat a little faster as he finally recognised the face. Georgi, the man who saved his life two years prior. It seemed the man recognised him, clenching his jaw as he watched the fight.

With a deep breath, Akio turned his attention back onto the fight. Georgi saved his life, now it was time to return the favor. There was no way in hell that man was going to wind up dead from the cold, never to save another person’s life again. Akio gripped his sword, letting the lighting coating spark from the tip to the iced floor and back again, making his very own charge attack. He was much faster than the Crushtacean, almost as fast as the lighting that coated him head to toe, allowing him to make more attacks than the big lug. And, hopefully, more powerful ones as well.

The first attack was another slash, moving to cut the other big arm off the damnable creature. Without either arm, it was actually rather weak, leaving it a much easier opponent to kill than originally. Akio then swung again, this time aiming to gut the creature while it was still recovering from the first attack. He hoped, at the very least, the creature would be cut down by his final attack, one that would cross over his previous attack making a cross on the creature's chest.

Turn 3

The little boy was already exhausted, far earlier than any of the other Baiters in the fight. Good. That meant she would have an easier time in the battle. Facing an exhausted child was easier than fighting a capable man. And once this child was dead and she ripped the Code Core from the child's hand and smashed it… She would move onto the next. The Crushtacean seemed to be having troubles with his man, but she wasn’t strong enough to handle him on her own. Perhaps she would help the Witch Doctor with its … Issues. It seemed to be dying, and she would have to step in quick to be able to do anything.

So the AI sped up its attack, leaping into battle with enough power to truly take out this little boy. She, now, would begin searching the kid for his core, trying to find it with every swing and every attack. She wasn’t 100% sure of what it could be, but she could make an educated guess. She’d rip the boy apart to find it, let that be well known. The boy let loose his own attack, throwing that god damn yoyo at her with as much force as the tiny thing could muster. It was cute, almost, how he thought he had a chance to do anything. Skillfully, the AI stepped off to the side, swatting the yoyo into the snow below. Perhaps this was what the boy’s core was? The creature grinned a insectile grin and moved to step on the yoyo. Destroying it, or at least making the move to destroy it, was going to be her first move to officially destroy this boy.

Even if she missed, it would let her know if that were his actual core, and thus leading her to be able to destroy it. And him. After she made that move, she dashed forward, making one last move to officially grab the child and strangle him.
