Clearly he was fighting a losing battle here. Leiah had already put the damned thing in a box. He heaved a sigh and let it be; she did get her jaw dislocated, and honestly he'd rather she have something to do in the relative safety of home or the Winchester than to go out and about looking for trouble.
The question about how to feed it was out in the open, which was one he was about to ask as well. "There's that," he started, eyeballing the box that now housed the eight-legged "pet," "is a good question. I think they actually like to catch their food and wrap it in their webs and stuff, too. So on top of needing to find the bugs, we'd also have to give it enough space to do its...web...thing..."
He looked over at Lease and made a face, almost pleading for a bit of help so they didn't end up keeping it.
Quest #4: The hallways they echoed and groaned:
Description: You wake up, startled by some noise. It's coming from just beyond your safe little shelter-- what do you do? This is mostly RP prompt.
Goals:
If you choose to explore the sound, you find that it is one of the escaped tarantulas, and it hat has managed to knock over a display of cardboard onto itself. One of its legs has been crushed already. It is an ugly thing, as big as your hand and covered in hair, but it is a creature trying to struggle and survive, just as you.
It's late, and through the roof the moonlight weakly shines, illuminating it almost mournfully. You could leave it to die. You could put it out of its misery. Or you could let it free, to roam. There's no point in keeping it: there's no way to trap food for it, and it is an apocalypse.
If you choose to save it, know that it will perish within 12 IC hours of natural causes, no matter what you do.

Leiah had a good idea of what they could feed SLAT! She set the box down carefully, wandering out towards the pet shop. She forgot to tape the bottom of the box and the arachnid was already trying to get out to sweet freedom. It didnt want to be contained anymore than the stupid humans were and the one that picked him up, while she was a nice one, he didnt want to be remembered as the spider called SLAT. The box only moved more and the spider was going to get out one way or another. Meanwhile, Leiah had made it to the pet store, searching for a full cage of crickets. Spiders liked crickets didnt they?

Character's name: Leiah Sanderson Character's faction: MALL BBY! Character's journal link:gaia_crown Character's survival stats: emotion_zombie BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MY CHARACTERLeiah stands at 5’8 and 130lbs with lightly tanned skin. She’s got brown hair that’s just down to her knees and blue green eyes that are constantly making her look like she’s up to something. She considers herself fit and trim but a bit on the small side, which makes fitting into clothes hard but easy at the same time.
It seemed that Leiah had a pretty decent idea of what could be done about feeding her new pet but when she glanced over at Drew, he seemed to have a pleading look in his eyes. Lease just shrugged at him and gave him a goofy grin. Didn't seem like it was going to really harm anyone. Wasn't like it was a black widow or anything.
It did seem like it was trying to wiggle free though. The teenager took a step forward and pressed the toe of her boot upon the top of the box to stop its progress.

Leiah darted off, probably to find food for the spider that he wished they could just let go. The realization had him sigh, and since Lease didn't seem to have any problems even though he'd given her that look...he was outnumbered, two to one.
So he let it go, eyeing the box warily as he finally just let them have their way. If it ever did try to wrap him in its web--not that he thought a tarantula that size would even attempt to consume a large human being like himself (and hell, a child would be enormous for the thing, too)--he'd have an excuse to smush it.
In the back of his mind he hoped the thing would try something sketchy, even just crawling on their bed he would consider sketchy...
"You're really okay with having a spider possibly wandering our humble little abode?" he asked, just to be extra certain.

AH! There they are! Leiah finally managed to find some crickets, all tied up in a bag and everything! Awesome! She grabbed the bag quickly along with some scissors she found, practically running back to Spencer's since she was kind of afraid of the dark and what else could be lurking in it. She had no desire to get eaten, bit, or assaulted thank you. She skidded in through the barrier and bent over to catch her breath, smiling and showing them the bag of crickets she had as well as the scissors too.
She walked over to the box, wondering why Lease's foot was on it. She crawled over to it and carefully took the box from underneath her foot, taping the bottom and emptying a cricket or two inside. she cut some cardboard away to make some tightly spaced "bars" and set SLAT on the counter, admiring her handy work. Awesome! However, she was kind of tired, so she smiled at both of them then crawled back into their tent to cuddle under the covers to sleep.

Lease honestly just shrugged at his question, "well.. its not like its one of those little ones. You know someone can swallow them in their sleep?" She'd read that on the internet after all. "This one is at least big and easy to see." It still would be a little unnerving to find something like that on your face, but having had the reaction she did when she first saw it she figured she wouldn't freak out as much.
At least as much as Drew apparently would (haha, men).
But seeing that box of crickets that Leiah came back with and scattered into the box that was now not under toe, Lease had to raise her option on that subject, "I am drawing the line at crickets." She stated, following after the girl back into Spencers, "those are not getting lose in the store."
Hopefully the tent she slept in had a really good closure. Oh yeah, she was using it for the next few nights.
