"Bonnie - red hair, said TA stood for Tits n' a**. In her case, she wasn't wrong. I have't seen her around, probably not around anymore." This was said matter of factly. Harvard had a pessimistic bent that caused him to assume immediate death of anyone he hadn't seen within the last month. He reached in his pocket for a cigarette before remembering he'd left them in his assigned dorm room. HE didn't have many left and leaving them there was his way of rationing himself. ******** living like savages.

He barked out a short laugh at Austin's comment. "Yeah, and you can bet I would have sold it. I hear you can get a mint of stuff for a porn mag." He looked Austin up and down briefly and decided that the man probably had his fair share of ladies. "You not hooking up with anything right now? Use it or lose it."

"Haven't you ever seen a horror movie?" Austin looked up at Harvard like he was insane -- head cocked just a little, glasses tipped to the side, both eyebrows raised. And behind it was a healthy dose of disappointment, as well, because before all this, yes, he'd gotten plenty of ladies. In fact, right before all this....

"If you ********, you're going to die, right?" His tone was sour. "Which doesn't say it'd stop me, but I'd like to be careful, at least. And everyone else seems extra careful about it..."

Harvard made an incredulous sound. "Of course I've seen horror movies."He shifted his bag to the other hand. "But really, if you're going to die anyway, and we very well might, you might as well enjoy the trip."

When he spoke again, his voice was perhaps a little teacher-y because, well, Harvard was a teacher."Just make sure not to get caught with your pants down and you'll be fine. Sadly, doesn't seem like there's a lot of time for any flowery romance s**t. Just quickies in the bathrooms." He sighed gustily.

There was a brief pause before Austin laughed -- the sound surprised out of him, maybe, but at least it meant that his pinched expression was long gone, his annoyance and pissiness. It had been a while since he'd laughed, actually, and he'd realize that at soon as the sound came out of his mouth: blinking in surprise and closing it almost immediately.

The sensation only lingered for a moment, though, then the amusement took hold again. It was more comfortable than worrying. "You're a lot less stuffy than you look."

Harvard suddenly grinned. It was kind of rare to hear laughter in the university and although he would have shushed it immediately in a classroom, this wasn't his classroom. Austin wasn't his student, but, he thought presumptuously, he could probably teach him a few things.

"Let you in on a secret - they fall for the stuffy look. It's like the old stereotype of 'staid librarian who's a freak in bed', only less popular." And that 'less popular' suited him just fine. Harvard liked sex, but he liked languages more. And so many encounters just failed to live up to his standards, and so many partners unwilling to learn - well, Harvard got bored easily.

"They fall for the not stuffy look, too." Austin still looked amused, though, swiping along the line of his jaw and watching Harvard in an appraising way out of the corner of his eye. Maybe he, too, was entertaining the idea of staid librarian who's a freak in bed. And maybe he'd hold onto that idea for a little while.

"...but I get your drift. It's about finding your niche, I imagine." He made a vague, crude gesture with the word niche.

"Yeah, I guess you're right - I've never had a stuffy-looking one in my life. Opposites attract or something like that. Don't tell me you've never tested the 'staid' waters?" He directed a rather disbelieving stare at Austin. Austin was definitely not someone he would describe as 'staid', even with the glasses - fair skin, full mouth, and a slim body that probably had a surprising amount of stamina. He shrugged.

"As for a 'niche', as long as it works how I want it to, I'm good." He shook his flashlight briefly as the light wavered. "Of course, someone has to be in that niche as well, so to speak."

"I get what you're saying. It's super pervy, especially coming from you, but I get it." It made Austin shake his head, pushing his glasses up on his nose -- and he slowed, a bit. They were close to the base, now, and Austin worked to delay them a bit, hands in his pockets and watching Harvard in an amused way.

"So matter of fact, it's impossible to tell if you're flirting or just a really weird guy, Harvard."

Super pervy. Harvard could live with that moniker. He noticed Austin slowing and matched pace with the other man. The world was ending anyway, right? 'Nothing's certain but death and taxes', he thought wryly. Except taxes were pretty much moot, as well as gainful employment.

"Let's put it this way - which do you think is right, Austin? Or maybe which would you prefer?" A thread of amusement wove inbetween his words even though he hated having to say things just outright. It was such a pain.

"I think I like to entertain my options." It was, frankly, obnoxiously cocky. Austin swiped hair out of his face as he grinned up at Harvard and the only way he could have made it worse was if he'd winked. Thankfully, he didn't. Instead he sketched a crooked salute at Harvard before shoving his hands in his pockets and starting through the door.

"Good luck professor." He tossed it over his shoulder, like the pain in the a** cool guy he was.

Harvard almost could not contain his eye rolling. ******** students. "Hah. Take your time, hot shot. Nobody's going anywhere." <********> students. Well, the chase was always more fun than the outcome anyway, so Harvard was satisfied. And, when Austin was truly turned and not looking, he allowed himself an eye roll, just over the inexpressible cockiness of Austin's parting words. Still, he might be fun to meet again later, and Harvard mentally made a note before getting a move on. He still have to turn in his 'prizes', and flashlight.
