Leilah wasn't even remotely aware of the fact that her clawed hands could be intimidating. She had never thought of them causing harm to anything other than her sweaters when she pulled them over her head. She was careful about not damaging them, but sometimes those claws just had a mind of their own. Regardless, she beamed like she'd never smiled before when Ganymede actually shook her hand! She had been expecting him to shrug it off. Look! He was even trying to be nice now! What a difference from the monster she had seen earlier in the sandbox.
"I can call you Gany if that's what you like to be called." She didn't have her own sort of nickname, but his was sort of cool. He did have a really long name. It was so much easier to shorten it. However, if he didn't like it she'd called him Ganymede every single time. When he mentioned the slight she gestured toward it.
"Go ahead, I'll go after you!" She glanced behind her, honestly surprised that no line had formed in the time that they had been arguing by the ladder. It was poor playground manners to hog a slide for too long. Oops.

Oh how proud Vaden would be. He was making friends. Though he would insist this was a temporary arrangement at best, it was only a matter of time before Leilah messed up -- in his mind, anyway. He'd be waiting until then.
"I don't care." He shrugged, as long as it wasn't a derogatory name, she could call him whatever she wanted. Granted, Gany's idea of "derogatory" was a little different from most people's.... He quirked a brow at her, thinking to him self that of course he was going to go first! He'd been planning on it since before she started talking to him. Without responding, he simply turned to climb up the play structure and then headed over to the tallest slide available. Good.
Once it was his turn he went ahead and slid down, once more without saying anything to Leilah... At the bottom though, an idea popped into his head... He'd been talked into agreeing to a temporary friendship, but did that mean he had to spend the rest of the playtime with her?
Probably not. With a smirk to himself, he took off running as soon as he was able to. See if she could keep bothering him now!

Seemed like they still had a lot of things to work on if they wanted to truly be friends. Leilah seriously doubted that Gany didn't 'care' what she called him. If he didn't care, then he wouldn't have offered a nickname in the first place! Goodness, was this kid bad at expressing himself or what? When he turned to go after the swings Leilah followed along, her tail flicking happily behind her. She noticed some of the kids on the playground giving Gany a rather...unfavorable look. How she hoped she could change their opinions about them one of these days.
She waited for her new 'friend' to climb up the stairs and begin his descent down the slide before started the climb herself. Wow, he had picked a rather tall slide. Wasn't this just a tad bit scary? It took her a bit of time to finally reach the top of the slide and when she peeked over and expected t see Gany, well he was already quite a distance away! That...that...meanie.
She took a deep breathe and somehow managed to slide down the slide, there might have been just a little bit of a scream though. It wasn't long before she was on her own two feet again though. Albeit they were just a tad bit shakey. She moved out of the way enough that other kids to take their turn then she looked around the playground for Gany again.
"I'll...catch up with him later I suppose..." She desperately needed a glass of water and to sit down. Oh boy, that slide had been an ordeal...
nepsah THE END. GANY YOU LITTLE DEVIL YOU.
