The blueblood's eyebrows shot up. She just could not peg this troll. One minute hes a shut in who never leaves his hive, the next hes sprouting traitor brands and has a hive to rival Chiara's in uniqueness. She possessively holds his hand, running her fingers over the scars, feeling each bump and groove. "Wow." She lets her amazement soak in, still caressing the treasure. "Now you will have to tell me the story behind this." Chiara looked into his face, a grin of expectation on her face.

Was she....impressed? What was going on? She was a royalist, right? Shouldn't she be telling him it was what he deserved for going against the Empress? It was a trick, right? Why was she so fixated on his scars? He really couldn't understand her. "Uh..." he began, throat suddenly far drier than he'd remembered. "It's not that.....I mean.....it's just...." he trailed off, cheeks flushed from feeling even more under the spot light. His eyes darted between the floor and her face, unable to shake his own confusion. She didn't even look angry or offended....she didn't look spiteful in any way just....excited?
"Th-the swamp wasn't the first time.....n-not even the second time I've sided with the rebels, b-but it HAS been a while since I've g-gone to any of their 'g.....gathering's..." he said slowly. He worried his lip between his teeth a moment before he continued, "w-we infiltrated a s-secure facility and it.....d-didn't pan out...." his head sunk a bit as he remembered all the other trolls that had failed. There weren't as many rebels with them as had been other times, fortunately, but certainly not a small number. "Kei hadn't been there....she.....she never knew about what I'd done," he flushed again at the thought. "Her lusus got caught up in it as w-well. So it's s-safer if I just d-don't leave....n-not when th-they can find me." His eyes darted back to his wrist before falling to the floor.

Chiara didn't let go of the hand, still marveling at how the skin had reacted to the brand. It was a beautiful display of grotesque troll culture. She pointedly ignored it when he mentioned Keionx. This guy sure was fixated on that troll, even when Chiara was in his presence, making him uncomfortable and finding out all his secrets. Her hand holding his gave away some of her irritation, squeezing just a bit. Nonetheless her smile did not falter. It was a woefully miss-told tale, Chiara was sure more had happened and this troll was just keeping it from her. "Did lots of trolls die? Did you have to kill anyone? Have you told Keionx or are you keeping it from her?" questions were racing through her head. She wanted a full story, told elaborately, and any guilt he might feel with it.

He shook his head, eyes still missing hers. "Wh-when I was really young.....um, when I was really young my lusus was killed. Kei's lusus took me in. W-we k-kind of found ea-each other as a c-coincidence, b-but he took me in n-none the less. Wh-when I was c-captured and...." his eyes darted back to her hands wrapped around his wrist in fascination, "he was c-captured as w-well. Kei f-found out ab-about that part but sh-she doesn't know.....everything." He bit his lip again in nerves. She knew a lot, but he wouldn't tell her about that, about the branding. His long sleeves kept it hidden for the most part and she never noticed anything, her head was always in the clouds with her stories of daring rescue and triumphant battles. She didn't know about how pitiful attempt at battles and how he'd failed even the small amount he'd tried. "N-never killed....un-unless you c-count the dr-drones we took out t-to get her lusus back....but Vremea and Kei were the ones th-that did that," his head sunk again. He'd tried....he really had. It was his first attempt with his pen and all he'd gotten was a bruised ego and got to watch as Kei and Vrem rather gracefully took the drones out. Vrem barely broke a sweat while he.....ah....he was ashamed.
Why tell Chiara anyway? What did it matter if she knew? It wasn't like anyone else did, hell it wasn't like anyone else every WOULD. Maybe that was why, she was the first troll to ask about it, even Vremea and Kei didn't extend much care or curiosity to what happened in the facility where all the trolls were processed. Surely the yellowblood knew, it wasn't as if he was the only branded troll.

Satisfied, Chiara dropped the hand. Now she had a piece of info from this kid that he had not even shared with his "sister," and important information by the sound of it. The blueblood crossed her arms over her chest, a triumphant smile on her face. "You are such a lier!" Chiara shook her head as she reached for the "tea." "All i do is stay in my hive my rear end! Sounds like you have been up to a lot!" With another sip of the liquid Chiara let her complement soak in. "So, Mr. shut in, you wanted to know about me? Like what?" Chiara liked hearing about other trolls more than talking about herself, but she could be convinced to talk about herself with the right words.

Zariah jumped at the assumed insult, immediately hiding his wrist back under his sleeve. He sunk in his chair a bit, eyes back to the floor. "N-no.....it's n-not a lie....just after this I c-can't go out as of-often without at-attracting some b-bad sorts of atten-attention....s-so it's safer to just stay h-here. There's the of-offer to more to the n-new village w-we found but..." he trailed off, face scrunching a little. He didn't care she knew, chances were the Empress was already well aware they'd found somewhere new to hide any way...but he DID care if they followed the signal from his chip and found the location.....no, it was safer...at least until he got the chip out.
He looked back up at her a little hesitantly, a small smile playing at his lips. "W-well I revealed something d-DEEPLY personal," he said, adding in a wave to accentuate his point, "isn't it o-only fair if you d-do the same?" Hell, he'd even told her about his original lusus and how he'd moved in with Kei and her's, albeit, that wasn't nearly as much a secret as the mark on his wrist and the chip. He really needed to catch up on his medical reading so he could at least TRY to do it himself without killing himself. "P-plus I let you into Kei's hive which I st-still haven't decided if that was my BEST idea..." he said, sounding perhaps a little teasing.

Chiara's eyes lit up. "A new village?! What? Oh you have to take me sometimes." Chiara sat up eager again, Zariah was showing a bit of a backbone again. Sure, he still stuttered like the dickens, and he didn't quite have the posture of anyone even remotely confident, but he was challenging Chiara. Even if it was a hesitant challenge, it was an improvement. Chiara smirked, this outing was worth her time. With some hard work, and Chiara's time and effort, this troll was sure to be worthwhile. Eventually. "Something personal..." the blueblood mused. She was an open book, most of the time, what was there to even say? "Like what? You wanna know if i think your cute? Who i have a crush on?"

"It-it's not like it doesn't m-make sense..." he demurred. "M-most of the re-rebels can't go home af-after the sw-swamp. And no, I w-won't t-take someone th-that sides with th-the Empress....n-not after all sh-she's done...." his face scrunched again, the hatred and distrust he felt towards the Empress was strictly platonic, there was no playfulness underneath or any other form of fondness. He'd been with the rebels long enough to know all she'd done, he'd been around when they were still sending out flyers to select hives to 'inform' of their cause. Not to mention just WHOSE lusus ate his so long ago. No, she wasn't to be trusted, nor was anyone that worked for her...at least not to that degree.
Zariah once again started at the suggestion, his cheeks suddenly burning orange. "N-no......that's not what....." his confusion went back into override immediately. DID she think he was cute? She didn't, right? He was suddenly feeling so much more nervous than before. "I-I d-don't know.......y-you seem l-like the k-kinda troll th-that gets into tr-trouble ev-every now and th-then..." he stuttered, finding it increasingly difficult to talk to her.

Chiara burst out laughing at her host's brilliant blush. Wiping tears from her eyes, "Oh my gosh, you are so adorable!" Chiara managed to say between giggles and tears. Finally she calmed down, catching her breath and drying her eyes. "Humm, no, i don't get up to as much crazy stuff as ide like, i guess i need to fallow you around more. Just little known facts about various trolls, their dreams, their likes, stuff like that. Oh, do you have some dream? Something you wanna become or accomplish when you grow up?" Chiara would have to come back to the swamp thing later. Okay, need to talk about tea and swamp village before i go, she reminded herself. Her list concerning this kid was growing, along with her hunger for his company.

Adorable? He was adorable? Since when? He stammered incoherently again, eyes darting nervously around, looking ANYWHERE but at her. She made him so nervous and uncomfortable......so much for trying to find out about her? Maybe she was younger than him? Or maybe she just sided with royalists and they didn't get up to anything as interesting as the rebels.....he was a little worried she'd want to tag along just as a form of excitement.....well, she certainly wouldn't get an invite from him! It wasn't just a way to pass the time for him, hell the mark on his wrist was proof enough why it wasn't just a game. The punishments for younger trolls weren't lightened.
"Um....wr-writing? I g-guess..." he demurred. "Kei g-goes on a l-lot of adventures and I s-sorta.....write the adventure?" he said, rubbing his arm awkwardly. He smiled faintly, "the m-most recent story is about the sw-swamp....app-apparently she had qu-quite the adventure w-with the b-blueblood and h-hordes of th-the undead." He really missed all the adventures.....he wasn't sure why Chiara seemed to think he was so exciting. "Wh-what about you? You seem like you find....OTHER p-people's lives more interesting..." he said, a little hesitantly. He knew it didn't sound very good, but it was true, she was more interested in the lives of others than anything else.

Chiara mused on this latest statement as she took another sip of tea. The tingling bitter sensation made her thoughts a little sharper. "I guess ide say im a collector, and an asset for any troll to know if they want to get anywhere in life." It was an overstatement, Chiara was not quite so important yet, but it was her eventual goal. "I find trolls i think are unique, intriguing, who will really make something of their short lives here, and i help them out." ...for a price. Chiara leaned in towards her orangeblooded host and said; "Really, i just enjoy the company of other amazing trolls." winking at him. "Im guessing with that... sister... of yours, you care a lot about the Rebels huh? Well, I think you would prefer me on the royalist's side." Chiara grinned at Zariah. "And here is your return payment, a "secret" of my own. I intend to... make things interesting once i get a position of power in the Royalist Army." There was no doubt in Chiara's mind that she would get such a position.

Amazing? He was FAR from amazing.....he was....ordinary? At best? He was pretty boring for the most part....he got in trouble with the rebels, sure....and his TWIN got into amazing adventures....but him? Not really. He wasn't so sure she saw him correctly...or maybe she saw trolls for their potential and hoped he would be destined for more shenanigans...unlikely though. Sure he still planned to attend every meet up with his fellow rebels, but he doubted he'd leave the hive much other than that.
Zariah stared at Chiara, utterly baffled by the troll. Was she....implying what he thought she was implying? Was she thinking sabotage in the army? No....that wasn't possible, right? She was a loyal blueblood through and through. They all were. Every blueblood he'd met, right? Though....he'd heard murmurs about Lunear getting the same treatment he did....and Kei's new 'friend' or whatever she was calling him. He finally looked her dead in the eye, finally finding his nerves once more, "Just....what are you implying?" he asked, hesitantly but in a firmer tone. He pressed his lips together a moment before conceding, "and actually I brought HER into the Rebels camp. She'd been loyal to the Empress before...."

Wow, serious time huh? And look at that. All because Chiara had mentioned that damnable "sister" of his. The blueblood's grin grew a little more aggressive. "Wow, not one stutter. Do you want to defend the Royalist Army from little ol me? I guess if you can convince HER you think you can convince me?" Chiara laughed. It was getting time to leave. She was not about to be swayed by some orangeblood just because she found several aspects of him desirable. She just needed to remember about the tea, at least as an excuse to come back.

"I never said that!" Zariah snapped back, not backing down. "I wouldn't ask you to switch sides. I never asked HER to switch sides! She found out because HER lusus was missing....that wasn't something I could exactly hide!" he slunk back in his seat a bit, pressing his lips together tightly. What was with him being surrounded by such forceful women? He just seemed to have all that luck when it came to finding ones that wouldn't back down. "I w-was just asking in t-terms of what y-you meant by......'make th-things interesting'....if you don't w-want to tell me...fine." He crossed his arms over his chest and looked away again. She was being difficult for no reason....maybe she just liked conflict. It made him terribly nervous....

"Fine. You really wanna know? I intend to start a collective of people who don't necessarily want to go with the empress, but also don't really want to get in with the violence of the rebels. If im going to change the way this stupid world is run, i intend to do it from the inside. I heard how there used to be lots more rebels, now there are what? Ten? Twenty left at most?" Chiara glared at the orangeblood. How did he get her talking? She usually was not near this open. "Now i think the rebels are doing a very important job. They are distracting the empress so i can enact my plan without fear." A shame they were distracting the empress with their lives, but it was no skin off Chiara's back. Hopefully this kid wouldn't go and sacrifice himself to the cause tho. "Just be careful. I like you. Don't go getting killed." Good line to leave on. Chiara stood up and brushed herself off, giving him a little time to respond, but obviously looking like she was getting ready to go.
