Olga briefly glanced at him out of the corner of her eye with a grin. "Yeah, if you want to get into any romance novels, I'll hook you up--but if you like any of the sort, then you should definitely get into the Outlander series. Jamie and Claire are my OTP--"

She lost.

VADER NO.

Briefly she looked dismayed, but it was abruptly erased by a loud amused snort. "Ah!" She laughed. "The perks of being the boss, yeah!?" She glanced at Corey, and then back at the screen where Tira was doing her little victory poses. "Aw, man--- I'd totally say let's just keep playing this so that I can beat you--" Olga reached to poke Corey's arm, feeling companionable with the giant man child and his great cheerful and enthusiastic attitude. "But next time! I have a few quarters still and other games to try out!" She grinned, and threw both of her fists into the air.

"House of the Dead next!"

He wasn't sure if he should feel intrigued... or inherently creeperish by the fact that a 'child' was offering to 'show him the way' when it came to romance novels. In the end he settled on intrigued and slightly amused - she was after all a college student, not some middle schooler, and it was for the great endevours of art and her own future success. Yes, it would be rude to not at least give it a try after she'd came and visited the arcade.

"Yeah alright. I'm in." He agreed cryptically, nodding his head like they were talking about something inherently more serious like a drug deal or bank robbery plans.

When his attempts at seriously faltered though he laughed a little, hitting the button that delivered Sophitia's dying blow. "I could always use more stuff to do while on slow days."

Olga's show as she lost caused another set of snickers to escape Corey, the grin plastered to his face growing little more. She was a good sport, which was awesome and when she mentioned House of the Dead he pointed forward, before leading onward in their journey through the arcade.

"Zombie smashing! And we can co-op that game instead of competing."

Olga leaned back in as well, grinning like a fiend.

"Alright--" She started. "I can hook you up with legitimate good romance novels or--I can set you up with some novels that are so bad they're good---also incredibly raunchy." She cackled. "I'll get you into both kinds eventually, but it's just a matter of what you want to start with!"

She leaned back, and clapped her hands excitedly as she followed him through the arcade. She'd have enough quarters for one more game after the Zombie smashing...and he was right. She was definitely coming back to play more. Also to drop off some romance novels for him! "Excitement! We'll be team mates!" She grinned at his back.

He was of course intrigued by the words 'raunchy', what red-blooded man (or more like teenager in a man's body) wouldn't be? But he could at least pretend to be a gentlemen at first. It only seemed right. Only time would truly tell, but there was a pretty high chance Olga had found someone to convert. Someone who would discuss and divulge over smut with her as if they were talking about the stock market or the weather outside.

"I'll start with one of the good ones. Maybe a bad one too..." He added after a moment thoughtfully. "I am a pretty big fan of b-rate horror movies." Really he didn't know how anyone couldn't be into them. It hardly got better then sitting around cracking up at terrible special effects, convoluted half stories, and laughable acting skills.

Growls and groans could be heard coming from the House of the Dead game as they approached, the screen flashing with monsters lumbering towards them. Pausing in front of it he motioned from one set of buttons to the other. "You have a preference over being the dude or the chick?"

Olga gave him a fox eyed grin. "You got it! One good and one bad!" She was just as pleased as punch, seriously. "Ah, yeah!" If it was possible, she looked even more excited. "I do too!" Horror movies, so good. "And with us getting closer to Halloween, you know they're totally going to start marathoning them on TV soon!" Olga clapped her hands, and then hopped in front of the game that was growling and groaning at them.

"Nope! But let's have some fun, yeah? I'll be the dude!" She pumped a fist into the air, and then batted her lashes at Corey.

"I'll protect you."

She fished her two quarters out of her flannel pocket and popped them in. She then picked up the gun, and experimentally waved it a bit at the screen.

"October is totally the best." He agreed enthusiastically. Not just because of horror movie marathons but also because of costumes and parties and candy. It reminded him that he would have to decide on what kind of promotion he wanted to do for the arcade this year and what kind of costume he'd inevitably have to don (and force his workers to wear).

"I feel safer already." He joked good naturedly, sadly used to being a true life damsel in distress far too often. A smirk crossed his face as she chose the male character, not divulging the likely unsurprising information that Corey pretty commonly chose female characters, and he scooted over to pick up the second player gun before shifting into position like a pro.

Quarters dropped in the machine he aimed his gun at the center of the screen, waiting for the beginning movie to display. Watching her wave the gun experimentally he grinned some more, before nudging her foot with his. "Quick tips."

"Your life and bullets are on the edge of the screen. Shoot away from the screen whenever you can to reload, don't worry about using all your bullets first."

"Always try to hit anything that looks like life. Try not to kill the civilians."

He'd barely finished when the movie began, offering them a half-assed story before their bullseyes finally appeared on the screen and the game began.

Olga nudged his foot back for fun, and tilted her head in his direction as she listened. "Got it!" She chirped, and glanced over and shot him a grin.

"But maybe I should kill civilians---preventative measures, yanno? In almost all zombie movies and games, they always turn!" She cackled softly, now focusing on the stereotypical story scenario, which both made her happy yet cringe with the lack of originality. After that was done---it was shooting time, and shoot she did, and not very well, either. Much off screen re-loading was done, but she was having tons of fun with this game already.

"How old are you, huh?" She asked out of the blue, still focused on the screen. She was a curious (or nosy depending on one's point of view) sort.

Her sensible suggestion brought a laugh out of Corey, head shaking with soft amusement as a well placed headshot took down a zombie right before it's swipe could take one of their health torches. "That is a valid point. A very valid point. I just happen to know that this game in particular rewards you with items or easy paths if you save the civilians."

"But if you want to be thorough I won't stop you." He mused.

Olga's inexperience was covered pretty easily by Corey's experience. Having played the game probably damned near a thousand times he'd memorized where all the zombie were in the first level or so. So his gun would tilt to sections of the screen before the creatures would even pop out. It also didn't hurt that he was pretty much the freaking laser tag champ of the city, maybe even the state. Corey's special ability it seemed, was the crafted handling of little plastic guns that shoot harmless lasers.

It gave her a moment to catch on to the game and figure out the ropes without them getting immediately obliterated and eating their quarters.

The question about his age brought a dramatically lamented groan. "So olddddd."

Glancing over, as he loaded off screen he laughed before actually answering her question. "30. Practically a grandpa."

"You're so pro, Corey, so pro." At times she stopped shooting just to watch him be all expert (but also it was incredibly clear it was experience that came from playing this way too many times). "But if we get rewards for saving them in this, then I'll do that!" And she did---some doors busted open and a civilian came running out, quickly followed by a zombie. It took more than three shots, but she finally downed it. "Yesssss---" She hissed softly with a fist pump before re-loading and focusing back on the game.

Olga giggled, getting into the swing of shooting zombies, and then let out a full laugh once he revealed his age. "Oh my gosh!" She reached and nudged him with an elbow. "That is not grandpa age! You are so far off, guy." She grinned. "I wanna be like you when I grow up. Older and still rocking all the things society deems childish without a care!"

Her compliment was met with more amused snickering and he puffed up with ego and bravado. "Someday you'll have to come and visit me and play laser tag too. I'm prettttty darn cool." He teased, well aware that it was a silly thing to be proud of, but entirely unabashed in the information.

"I'm sure you've got a few skills you could easily smoke me with though." He added after a moment, offering a a congratulatory whoop when she succeeded in saving the civilian she was attempting to protect.

The insinuation that he wasn't that old was a boost. Even though he'd been joking in his self depricating way it did sometimes weigh on him that he was double the age of many of the people he spent most of his time with. And when she mentioned growing up to be like him it was her turn for a playful nudge. "That's a noble endevour and I'm a terrible influence so I'll do what I can to help."

Watching their torches flicker out and their lives slowly dwindle he lifted a second hand to his gun, helping to steady his shots. "Remind me when we're done and I'll treat you to a drink too. We can toast to smut and staying young forever."

"Of course!" Olga replied firmly. "When I have more quarters!" She grinned. "Though I'll probably get my bum beat, yeah? You being pro and all and my being a noob lord." Laser tag would be like playing House of the Dead in real life! Kinda. Less zombies and health items.

"Maaaaaaaybe." Olga hummed, "But as far as games go, that would be a negative, red leader." She laughed. "Yeah, I'm all about that noble stuff." She was grinning as she shot at the screen, and her health was getting dangerously low. "Terribly awesome you mean though, right?" She glanced at him, her eyes brightening even more at the toast and offer. "Alright! You're talking about some root beer or something, yeah? I mean, I'm legal--" Here she winked, "But not that legal." She paused for a moment. "Let's toast to video games, too!"

She had been distracted though, and a zombie lunged at her on the screen, and she died.

"Oh NOOOOO!" Olga wailed dramatically, still pointing the gun at the screen though it was obviously useless now. She then looked over at Corey's side of the screen. "You can do it!" The text in her corner was prompting her to put in more quarters to keep going--but she was saving them for one last different game.

"Oh even if you lose terribly laser tag is fun as hell." Running around a darkened maze with fog and strobing lights. Walls painted with black light paint and the soft blink of vests with the thumping pound of electronic music in the background. The thrill of the hunt or being a hunted without any worry about actually getting hurt. It was a rush - a rush that was extended for him by the fact that he was really really good at it.

"You don't get booted from the game or anything like an arcade game, you get to play the whole time and just end up with a laughable score at the end." He added after a moment with a wink. He of course wouldn't trash talk her on her first game - even though he was pretty pro at that too. Yep, he got into verbal spats and pissing contests with teenage boys over laser guns a couple times a year when there were contests. It was fun.

"Oh jesus, I'm not that cool or fun!" He nearly choked with laughter as she tried to confirm that he hadn't meant a real drink. "I meant something from that soda fountain over there." A finger cocked to point in the vague direction back over his shoulder towards the counter she'd originally found him at, though his eyes remained on the screen trying to stay alive despite the doubled zombies. "I can barely afford my own booze, I'm not supplying kids with it." Not to mention you know.. the fact that he wasn't going to risk his arcade or butt just to help minors get alcohol. Corey was an enabler of sorts and often a terrible influence (even if he was terribly awesome too). But there was a difference between inspiring people to follow their dreams whatever they were and breaking the law just to get kids drunk. It was just like how tentative he was before hitting on girls around the place to make sure they were plenty legal. He did not need to be a labeled a sex offender and have his arcade taken from him. And he really really really didn't need to go to jail either. He was far too pretty and weak for prison. They'd eat him alive.

Corey managed to stay alive for another minute or two after Olga's death but soon he was swarmed and unable to recover, his own final torch being extinguished - the screen flashing to try and tempt them for more quarters.

Spinning from the machine he grinned. "What are you feeling like next?"

"I'm excited then!" And feeling a sense of...hm...maybe community wasn't the right word, but it felt nice to finally have made some plans to meet up with someone who was really cool again. Made her feel like maybe, just maybe, she was starting to ease in to a new life here at Destiny City---and maybe, hopefully, she was making a friend right now! She really wanted more friends here.

Olga laughed again. "Oh, whew." She sounded relieved, and glanced over at the machine he indicated. "Nah, you're definitely cool and fun---and I'll add nice on top of it, because the drink is on you." She grinned, and finally put the plastic gun back in its holster. She cheered him on for that last few minutes, and let out an 'awwwwwwww' once he got swarmed and defeated. "Well...we only made it that far because of you anyways..." She nodded solemnly before perking up.

"Yeah! I'm feeling something no virtual---" She grinned. "Air hockey?" That seemed like something fun to end of for the game day.

I snorted so hard at the 'he was far too pretty and weak and prison'....thank you for that LOL

He hoped she would enjoy laser tag. As peppy and exciteable as she was, and as much as he enjoyed the 'sport' himself, he really thought she would like the game. But only time would tell. Maybe if he decided to follow through with his idea for a laser tag 'haunted house' he'd invite her to that.

He looked a little surprised when she chose air hockey, but nodded nonetheless. "We totally have that too, it's over closer to the games that give tickets." It was actually one he didn't play that often, at least not in the past decade. It was a classic though (and one of the few games that needed very little tinkering with and fixing which was always a bonus). Fun and competitive - based on a mixture of skill and luck. Olga might have found her opening to beat the tar out of him.

Leading the was at a soft job he patted the machine lightly when they arrived, giving the obligatory test of his hand on the blowers when it roared to life before he picked up his mallet, giving it a playful little spin on the airblown surface. "Ladies first." He grinned, sliding the puck her way.

It's sadly true. Dat long hair and boyish/youthful figure. He doesn't want to be the prison girlfriend. QQ

Eeeeeeee air hockey! Olga followed dutifully on his heels, and took to the other end of the table, taking her own mallet. She slid it back and forth across the surface briefly to enjoy the feel, and grinned once the puck was slid her way.

She took it, sliding it in front of her mallet in front of her goal. "Who says I'm a lady?" She teased, "Okay---here it comes---" She pulled her mallet back. "A swing and a---" Olga shot her mallet forward and---

Swept right by the puck.

"...You totally didn't see that." The wannabe romance novelist then couldn't help but laugh before she tried again. She whapped the puck with her mallet, and watched it go sailing across the surface towards Corey's end of the table. This was the kind of game where she couldn't take her eyes off the table surface, but that didn't mean she still wasn't in the mood to converse. "So you said you've had this place for almost six years...how long have you lived in Destiny City before that?"

Iris_virus
But Corey would be the PRISON QUEEN with his beautiful long hair and youthful figure ; D fjwkefewlkfklw
