His nose wrinkled against her poke, and Celsus let out another laugh, shaking his head so that the red hair fell around his freckled cheeks in waves. It was getting longer now, ebbing past his shoulders, and sometimes he wondered if he should cut it, if only to get it out of the way.
(He never would; he liked the length too much, after all.)
"It's not too personal," said Celsus, smiling down at Bifrost. "But I'm afraid there isn't much to tell, and some of it is rather embarrassing, as it involves a distinct lack of character on my part."
And a lot of alcohol. And a lot of anger, at least in the beginning. Celsus hummed thoughtfully.
"The lady princess came to find me," he said, deciding to skip the beginning where he'd been so drunken and furious at the world that he'd almost drunk himself into a stupor by the time Chronos had found him, slumped in his loft, surrounded by bottles and paint smears. "She said she had a task for me, on my Wonder, but didn't tell me what it was. I went, admittedly somewhat reluctantly, and met with my ancestor."
The smile on Celsus' face had softened to one of fondness, gaze a little distance now.
"He helped to guide me, and I don't remember much except promising to always help others and to devote myself to my Wonder, and then, well..."
He waved a hand at his face, grinning. "Then I get to look like a glowstick."

She listened quietly, smiling at him. Her head titled, blond hair shifted slightly as a breeze fluffed the strands. Something about his expression made her giggle, smiling wider. Bifrost had only met Princess Chronos officially once, a few months after they returned from the Surrounding. She'd, unfortunately, been a cat at the time, but hey what can you do. It was good to hear their Princess was alive and well.
"Interesting! I know Babylon housed his ancestor's starseed for a while there before he Transcended. I wonder what I'll have to do for it!" She clapped her hands together in an expression that clearly was "incredibly excited for this." While she remembered being Transcended in the future, she didn't know how or why. Simply that she was. In the present, she wanted to do what she could to hold the line. If that meant Transending, then that was what she was going to do.
The Squire giggled again and smirked at him. "You like her, don't you, our princess. I see you going all far-eyed and thoughtful about her," she teased, eyes full of mirth and amusement.

He lifted a hand and idly smoothed fingers through Bifrost's hair in an absentminded gesture that indicated it was a secondary nature to him now to show such casual affection to those he felt more connected to than the others. All of the knights of Chronos received the same sort of affection, though admittedly Pharos and Bifrost and Conchordia were the ones he saw the most - and Troy as well, though obviously his ways of showing fondness were different with Troy.
A laugh escaped him. "I'm not so sure it's something you can choose to do," said Celsus with a smile down at Bifrost. "It just...it sort of happens. I didn't even know what had happened to me until I met with a group of others similar to myself, and we all discussed it. Babylon was there, as well, and a few scattered others, but it just...you can prepare for it, as best you can, but it doesn't come on a whim."
He gave Bifrost a slightly startled look and then laughed again, warmth in the sound. "Of course I like her," said Celsus, grinning broadly. "She is our princess, after all, I'd hope that all who met her like her."

"I mean like like, as in girlfriend material like," she giggled. Bifrost's shoulders ruffled again and she smiled up at him. It was nice to hang out with him again. She'd missed so many of her other knights, but him especially. Not just because he was a very nice looking young man, with an equally nice personality. She saw him as the knight-captain in a way. He'd taken leadership of the nights when no one else would, and tried to give purpose to the knights. Granted, they'd scattered and lost their way, but that was just the way of things. Life got in the way of being a magical girl, after all.
"Then I will need to become worthy of it. I can do that." She tucked her hands behind her back again. It just sort of happened, hmm? Well that was different. Bifrost shrugged; then it would happen when she was worthy of it happening. That worked for her, and gave her something to work towards, too.
Then, being the way she was, Bifrost took a step back and pointed a finger at him. "I like like you Celsus, and I hope you find happiness with someone someday!"
Bifrost, who the word 'subtle' didn't exactly register to.kuropeco Wrap up in the next few posts maybe?

Celsus' mouth opened and shut again, a peculiar expression crossing his face. It was a mixture of stunned surprise and bemusement, brows drawing together as he stared down at Bifrost, apparently momentarily lacking the words necessary to form proper sentences.
"No," he said, and it came out sounding breathless, either with laughter or disbelief, it wasn't quite certain. "No, my goodness, no, I could not - not with the princess, no, she is quite out of my league and I could not possibly even imagine such a thing."
It was half true. He'd only let himself imagine it as a fantasy, once or twice, in the deepest confines of his heart where none could see or touch - but the rest of the time, his staunch and unfailing loyalty to Chronos was based solely and utterly off of his belief that she would lead them in the right direction. It was the same with Virgo as well; Celsus knew, rather instinctively, that they would not lead him astray.
He tilted his head as Bifrost stepped back, his arms falling to his sides, a quizzical look on his face. Her declaration a second later made his eyes widen, just a fraction, and then lower once more, a smile touching Celsus' lips.
"I like you two, my dear," he said, beaming. "And I wish the same for you, of course."
Unfortunately for Bifrost, lacking subtlety was equally as comparable to Celsus utterly lacking the ability to comprehend simple fact sometimes.

Bifrost giggled, the sound evolving into a full laugh that shook her body with it's force. It was clear it had, somewhat, gone over Celsus' head, but she was okay with that. After all, if it was meant to be, it would happen when it happened. Not on a roof top in the middle of the night. Until then, he was a valued friend and that was good enough for her.
"Yay, happiness all around!" The squire clapped her hands in excitement once the laughter died down. She smiled at him, and bounced over to peck his cheek.
"I should be heading back. Grandmother wants to do gardening in the morning and she starts super early," she said to him. Bifrost lifted her hand, wiggling her signet ring finger. "Ever need of me, or just want to talk, you know how to reach me!"
With that, she stole a quick hug and bounded off into the night.
