"It's not your fault." She repeated and slowly, the anger ebbed away. She had no where else to send it, but inside herself. But Magiore was home, and what she wanted most was for him to be happy.
To be comfortable and good. This was there home, goddamn it.
"I think we should talk to Umber, or find a general if we can." She looked over at him, "And I think we should ask them to start including me in missions, or utilizing me as a Dark mirror. I will not..." She looked at him, "Lose you again. And if I do, I will have the negaverse in the palm of my hand, to help me."
She sighed, "but enough of that, I....I told your sister you were away at a metalworks convention. She might've bought it. But I am not sure. you might wanna call her." She smiled.

He knew, somewhere in the back of his mind, that it wasn't his fault. That he could not have known that he would be taken away from her, that he'd be dragged off from the happy life he'd started to love with Mintaka and forced into a life threatening, dangerous battle for everything he held dear.
He knew, and yet it still hurt to know what she'd gone through while he was away.
"Ah," said Magiore, a little frown of thought on his face. The name Umber was unfamiliar, but he did agree that he thought it prudent to start letting her work with them. The alliance between the Dark Mirrors and the Negaverse was still fragile, still needing to be rekindled, after all.
Magiore leaned and pressed a kiss to Durumi's forehead.
"We will make things work, because I will not lose you, either."
The mention of his sister pulled a sigh from him, Magiore lifting a hand to run his fingers absently through his hair. "Ah...Kodi. I suppose I should. I was hoping not to get her involved in any matters involving the Negaverse, but it seems that's...out of the question."

"Yeah, she's called a lot just to check on you. One would think I was a serial killer and hide your body..." She joked and then stiffen.
She didn't know what else to say, so she felt the uncomfortable silence grow for just a moment. She had no idea why tears started again, but they came slowly, and she rested her head back on his.
"I don't.....It's so hard Magiore. When...and why did it get so hard?" She shook her head. "When does it end?" She wanted to ask what would it take.

He made a mental note to call Kodi later, but Magiore's attention was focused on Durumi. The silence grew, stiff and tense between them, and then she was crying once more, tears streaked, and his arms automatically rose to encircle her, pulling her gently but firmly against his chest.
He couldn't tell her that it would get easier, because he didn't know. But he also couldn't tell her that everything would be all right, because chances were it wouldn't be. They were stuck in the middle of a war, after all, and they were fighting so hard to maintain their sanity and their lives.
"I know," said Magiore instead, quiet and soft, his lips against her hair. "I know it's hard."
He took a deep, steadying breath, his chest tight, and ran a soothing hand up and down her back.
"You and I, we will figure things out," he told her. "We will learn how to formulate a balance, we will do everything we can to make things the best we can for us, and we will do the best we can with what we have. We will survive this. I will not let them take anything from us any longer."

Her fingers dug into his jacket and then she hiccuped again. When she pulled back, her face was working to composing itself, like she had been taught to do for years.
"We'll clean you up." She could feel the loss of some of his weight. Even if it had been a week, there was differences. His injuries as well. "Do you want too..." She pursued her lips and there was a light in her eyes.
She wasn't feeling playful, but she wanted to comfort and to be comforted. "Take a shower? Come to bed?" She cocked her head. "Is it too painful...?"
Never had she been so bold before, and she didn't think she ever would be. It was the first time she needed such heavy physical comfort rather then sipping tea and such.
"After...we can read something?" She nodded, "Your book, it's still in the library room. I didn't lose your page..."

He looked more than a little worse for the wear. There were bruises ringing his neck and a few more, unseen beneath his shirt, scattered across his ribs. Several more were on his back, and one smaller one on his cheek, beneath the dark circles under his eyes. It was, at the very least, mostly the extent of his injuries, and he'd managed to get away with no broken bones or internal damage.
Unless one counted the mental distress, which was the worst part of it. Magiore lifted a hand and swept it over Durumi's forehead - and his own head cocked to the side, a quizzical expression flickering briefly across his face before he realized just what she was suggesting.
A very light flush touched his cheeks, if only because it was not like Durumi to be so...forward. But he understood the need to be close, because they had been dragged forcefully away from each other, neither one even knowing if they'd get to see each other again.
Magiore stepped forward, hands lifting, and he caught Durumi's face in his palms, tilted her head and kissed her, long and deep, mouth pressed warmly against hers. He would have picked her up and carried her, but he didn't think he had the strength to - still, he rested his forehead against hers when he pulled back, eyes fluttering.
"Bed," he said softly, and kissed her again, soft and fleeting. "Bed, then just...let me hold you while I read."

"Bed." She agreed and pulled back. "I'll bring tea with me, and fetch your book." She let go of him, cheeks still a tinge of red. While he went to their room, she took the tea and set it on a tray.
It was followed with some painkillers and a final stop for his book. It was all set up next to him when she crawled into bed, curling herself around his form.
She hoped, that when she woke...it would be still in his arms.
