REBEL FRONTRUNNER
While Byakko's more grievous wounds had been miraculously sealed thanks to Vremea's healing touch during their moments repose at the brooding cavern, it hadn't been nearly enough to fully restore the mutantblood to her previous vigor. The pressure of the situation was almost as stifling as the muggy swamp air. Bandages were shoddily wrapped around her minor cuts and burns, but evidence of her mutation still thoroughly stained her robes. It seemed pointless to try and hide it at this point, but Akko had grabbed the only thing she could find to throw around herself- an old tattered cloak from the base. Maneki was nestled against her back in a crude sling, wide hood shrouding both their faces in shadow.
Every now and then she lifted a bare leg to frantically swat off a swarm of insects, but kept her determined silence as the trio raced off though the marsh. The unfamiliar swamps were daunting, and Byakko was braced for anything, eyes wildly darting around the dark trees for any looming threats.
Her weapon was already pointed at Stryke when he emerged from the tangles of the swamp. The hem of her cloak sloshed through the mud as she spun to face the newcomer, reaching up to shove Maneki's head deeper under the hood they shared. When the yellowblood spoke, Byakko immediately relaxed her stance, relieved to hear the familiar voice. "Aah, Stryke, it's you." Her mouth pulled into a firm line at Stryke's slight bow, but she nodded gratefully. In truth, she was even more relieved to see no falter in his voice or the way he addressed her. Kursha's betrayal had far overshadowed her blood being outed, and while none of the rebels had responded to her maliciously, she dreaded facing them again. Reaching up with one hand to give the side of Maneki's head a reassuring pat, Akko turned back to the fourth troll. "Sounds like a plan. It's probably for the best if we travel together for now."
"Maneki, this is Stryke." Akko tugged down the hood enough for the smaller mutantblood to pop out. "I guess you haven't been introduced formally, but this is-" the eldest of the group was spreading muck all over his face. "Zeffer..." Akko pointedly rolled her eyes, stopping to untangle her leg bandages from a patch of brambles. She balled them up in her fist. "You can roll around in the mud if you want, but I'm fine." She jutted a finger up at the hood that shielded half her face from whatever moonlight trickled through the trees.
"Besides, we're trying to draw their attention away from the others. We need to give them something to follow," lathering her palm with pink blood from the seeping lacerations on her thigh, Byakko slapped her hand onto a tree trunk. She briefly disappeared into the trees to purposefully stomp through the underbrush and snap off several branches, discarding her shredded bandages before turning back to rejoin the others.
Stepping back to admire her bloodied hand print, Akko began to veer off in the opposite direction. "Come on, lets get moving."

ROYALIST VANGUARD Lorata curled her arms around herself, trying to take up as little room as possible to keep from getting her arms all scratched up on the brambles. She was almost glad she'd lost her overshirt at this point, because it surely would have gotten snagged on something just like her skirt was beginning to do as they moved into some of these narrower tunnels the vines had made. Meduma was having trouble fitting comfortably as well and she'd had to resort to floating a little lower than usual with her heads stretched up to avoid the muck.
Still, she avoided much of the stings and scratches that managed to get at her daughter, simply because she kept as much to the center of the path as she could. Lorata, on the other hand, more often strayed too close to the edges in her attempt to stay alongside the older trolls. They were just so interesting, and Kursha was an actual hero, and she was on an adventure with them! Although it was still a little bit of a struggle to keep their pace without losing a shoe to the squelching mud, the little seadweller nonetheless beamed at her team.
"Princess!" She announced, and she figured that was good enough because it was a name and a class all its own. Quickest character explanation ever! She tilted her head at the Captain's question with a hum, and then laughed. "We could give them names! I don't think it really matters what they might pick, since this is our story." She nodded decisively. "They're only going to die in the end anyway, that's what villains do."

ROYALIST VANGUARD Sarcel had to admit that this was quite a peculiar group. Not only were they bestowed with the presence of a seadwelling child, she also found herself in the presence of the big bad himself. She tried not to think too much about it. She could at least get over her highblood fear in this instance (to an extent, anyway); the purpleblood was a child, but her lusus still raised a cause for concern. Her own lusus was frightening to her, but definitely a little more fluffy and a lot... smaller. Maybe if she squinted hard enough she could see past the jellyfish-cretin. She could at least pretend anyway. She was good at that. Purpleblood threat eliminated.
Now the greenblood gave her more than enough mixed feelings, but she wasn't about to say anything or act on them either. Being an upfront antagonist wasn't in her nature, and though she had past experiences with group in-fighting (that she would very much prefer not to think about right now thank you they did not need that), she still felt her finger itch on her gun. She forced herself to be content with her focus on the mission. This was an important job, given out by the Queen herself. Something like that. It was a little funny, realizing how many details she was in the dark about.
She hadn't been too grievously wounded from the encounter, something that at least wouldn't drag down her team. Not that searching in this bog was very speedy or easy-going anyway, but she had seen some of the others that emerged from that battle.
Sarcel tugged the ragged and torn cloth around her thin frame. The make-shift cape did well to hide her, though it did poorly in the murky environment, getting caught in roots and branches and thistles. The ends were waterlogged, it was growing heavy, she felt her body growing heavier too.
With a slightly frustrated grunt, the blueblood yanked it free from yet another thorn, pulling the cowl down over her head. Under the dusky moonlight, her skin seemingly glittered back into reality, face now visible under the obstructing hood as she turned slightly to her redblooded companion. FLARPing even in a time like this. It helped soothe her nerves in a strange way.
"I-I don't, uh..." her voice wavered like usual, trailing off, "Remember w-what I wrote down either..." She wasn't really creative either. What was the point of making characters anyway?
Oh, well she supposed that was sort of the whole point of FLARPing. Lorata seemed on board. Kursha much less so.
"I'll come up with one l-later," she rumbled out hastily, sticking closer to the redblood she was acquainted with rather than other members in her group.

Next thing she knew, Sarcel was staring at that glaring pink slathered against the tree. Alifax had already vanished into the damp undergrowth. A soft crunch tore the bluebloods attention away for a moment; it came from a different direction, didn't it? Narrowing her eyes, her body faded back into space again. She saw a glimpse in the darkness, not too big, not too small...
Biting her lip and steadying her gun, she followed.

ROYALIST VANGUARD "Hey, look," began Alifax. There was a spot of bright pink on a tree near them. "I think..." That was the blood color of the mutant, they'd been fighting, right? A chill ran through him briefly: they'd very much picked exactly the right path. Fortunately the trail of neon pink was headed in a direction such that he could pick out where it'd eventually lead. They needed to blend in, so that the fugitives wouldn't be expecting it... Alifax Bunsem vs Byakko Mawiya: FIGHT! emotion_kirakira

REBEL FRONTRUNNER Stryke had a choice to either run, or make the journey forward to try and catch up with Byakko. She had gone ahead when they'd needed to part ways and try and find the next path. Like hell he'd leave the mutant blood alone, given she was spreading her bright pink blood as she went along. His boot crunched on a branch as he ran forward. Something seemed off, the yellowblood tensed, rather uneasy as he reached down for his daggers. He heard a sound, but saw nothing around him. Where had the rebel leader gone?! His pump biscuit hammered wildly as he felt branches grip at him causing him to slid down in the mud landing with a heavy thud on his back off the trail he'd been on. Whatever it was he'd heard wasn't around him now. That didn't solve the problem he was still alone. Stryke Nvrmor vs Sarcel Cincil ninja
