"Oh dear. Oh gods above and below, please let him be alright!" Sobie murmured to himself, a desperate prayer."Don't worry, Sob--" Griffin began in reassurance, but was cut off."Don't worry!?" Sobie barked a near hysterical laugh, unleashing his stress and frustrations on the young male in his next breath. "You left him, Griffinus, alone and bleeding, when his mind was in such a state, after trekking him around in circles, on some half-remembered quest! That princess went missing, and was found, years ago! Did you even stop for a moment to think, to question why you were going in circles, why he could not even remember her name!?"
Sobie only paused the verbal lashing to shout his mate's name into the afternoon twilight of the deep wood, they circled the clearing where Griffin said Tsu was left sleeping and he put his nose to the ground, smelling Tsu and smelling blood. Tufted ears pricked and twitched this way and that for whatever sounds, Griffin had stopped trying to defend himself and was putting his amateur tracking abilities to use at last."This way..." Griffin glanced Sobie's direction for an instant before bounding off into the trees. For once he didn't think about how cool he might look when his cape flapped out behind himself, or how a knight rescuing someone in distress was his ideal persona. All thoughts of Adventure and heroism were wiped from his head for the moment, the scent of blood led in this direction, and he could hear a stream. Tsu had taught him the importance of having a water source for drinking and washing wounds. Even in such a state, Tsu would have definitely head there. He crashed through the trees and Sobie, though generations his elder, was hot on his heels. It didn't sting him in the least to hear his mate calling someone else's name, the panic in Tsu's tone cut through Sobie worst of all.
"Tsu! Tsukurou, my dear, I'm here!"

The desperation of having lost the boy, made him fill with regret and anger towards himself for having lost someone. It was when his calls were answered that Tsu's heart jumped and limped towards the familiar voice. It was Sobie...
"I lost-"
But Griff was right behind Sobie, and a sigh of relief had exhaled out of him. Sobie saved him again, and it was occurring more frequently. Quickly he limped over to Sobie and immediately burried his face in to the other's neck.
"I was...turned around again..wasn't I.."
Defeat in his voice as he looked to Griff and bowed his head. "Im so sorry.. I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry.." Shaking head his to each side. "I'm..turned around, I remembered!- We were not suppose to look for a princess... I was trying to get ready for the festival.." He looked to Sobie.
"We were invited... " Then buried his face against Sobie once more. "I don't want to disappoint the king.." His nub was exposed and raw, and in no condition to be going to any festivals. Rather, he needed to start carving a peg leg sooner rather than later. Gnawed marks were on his nub, and soon the bright pink flesh was going to be bleeding again.

Griffin held back at the lover's reunion, the relief he felt not washing away the guilt and shame that burned him from Sobie's words. He scuffed his paws through the dirt and looked away.Sobie hurried to catch Tsu in his arms, wrapping them around the old ulaya's shoulders and holding him very tightly. "It's alright, all that matters is you're found now, found and safe... Shh, hush now, dear." Sobie didn't make much effort to shush Tsu, even as the unnecessary apologies spilled from his mate's lips.Griff perked up when he was addressed, but kept his ears lowered. "Ah, that is..." He shook his head, "You don't have to apologize to me. I should be the one..." He looked between Tsu and Sobie as they spoke and Griffin was struck deep at the way Sobie had gentled, the tender care in which he held Tsu and stroked his ears back. Steady and unwavering."Don't fret, my dear... I'll... I will pin a formal apology. We can send it along with, with a messenger." Sobie sighed softly, holding Tsu's forearm and examining the raw nub. He gestured to Griffin, who brought over the first aid kit that they'd packed along, the young male was readying ointments and sterile bandages to dress the fresh wounds. He kept his head down and his mouth closed as he worked. His mood was subdued, when he would usually leap at the chance to play messenger for an important missive.

"By all honors given, I shall pass them to the messenger whom has helped on my exert, not just, but a proxy." He looked to Griffon and bowed his head. "I can't tell you a direction, the path is.. a bit hazy in here." Trying to lift his nub to his head, but it hurt to much, so it simply twitched.
"At the edge of a mountain, over many waterfalls.. as it kisses the open waters. A haze and bewilderment, no shine outshines it, a memorable memory it will befall you." Looking to Sobie as he leaned against him, feeling the medicinal properties of his own mixture left in the bag applied. Griff really did remember his teachings and for that, the sense of proudness swelled within the old Ulaya's chest.
"Do you remember Sobie.. Do you remember our adventure..?" It sounded like a plead more than a question. "My memory seems to have played such trick on me, the most wonderful memory. Ours." Then he looked to Griffon.
"Would you, be our messenger a proxy? After all, you are family..'

"F-family!? I-- Tsukouru, I, I..." Griffin stammered and trailed off, his paws clutching the bandage, stopping mid-wrap and trying to piece together words to convey his feelings. He had no idea that Tsu thought of him in such a way... Sobie looked hurt, but quelled the expression. Tsu forgot their family, and he couldn't bring them up when Tsu was confused like this. It only made Tsu's mind worse, if Sobie reminded him of their children. Not the ones that Tsu had adopted, not the ones that he'd had with his first love, but theirs. Sobie couldn't help resent Tsu's words, but his expression swiftly softened once again. His stubborn nature had given way to a much more patient old man. He took up the bandages that Griff had stalled out on and finished wrapping them around Tsu's nub, securing it with a gentle knot.
"I haven't forgotten a single day with you, my dear... Don't fret. I'm sure Griffin will do fine. Getting the message to the King in our stead is no small task. If you think he is up to it, I'm sure he won't let you down.""I won't! That- that is... On my honor, I swear that I will not fail. Not again." Griffin bowed his head to Tsu and again to Sobie.
"As soon as your message is in my possession, I'll get it to the king. I won't rest until this mission is seen through to it's end." "Enough. Sobie's patience only extended so far, his voice was raised for a moment before it leveled out again. This is important, this isn't a game. The journey is long, but the way is not hard. We'll lend you a map, you silly boy. Perhaps you should bring someone along so that you don't get distracted by the wind in your hair. I think--""My sister! I'll bring my sister, Mayri along. I-if that suits you... She's the most level-headed ulaya I know, and doesn't indulge in my... games." Griffin spoke up quickly and then lowered his head again. He knew he deserved Sobie's current mood, but he wanted to make it up to him, to prove that he was trust-worthy once more.

"The lands leading to the castle isn't an easy one.." Giving a nod. When Sobie said that there was a map, it shocked him. "A map to the kingdom!? Well we must burn it! What if someone-" Then he realized how crazy he sounded, and closed his eyes, and for a moment he didn't speak. Slowly he tried to think back at what happened...
The only reason he would burn it, was because he didn't want the war to reach the kingdom. Anyone could get their paws on it.. No.. No.. The war was over.. the war has been over...
"I'm ..sorry." He smiled, although his appearance was a sad one. "The war has been over for quite some time. Sometimes I feel that it was only yesterday.... So no need to burn it but always be aware of where and who your encountering. No one should hold that map.. Just you. Maybe Mayri,... a name I haven't heard in some time." Chuckling. "I can pack you some vitals to take along."
Nuzzling Sobie and moved his nub a little, and realized that the pain began to really sink in again and the bandages were feeling wet.
"Griff my boy, you will be great! The King is a dear friend-" Nodding to himself. "We can trust Griffinus, he won't let us down. Let's make haste, the road is a long one, and you still have to pack, the festival will become soon." With that, the ulaya hopped along and began to walk in one direction, then his ears lowered and he took some steps back to Sobie.
"I didn't make marks...Why didn't I make marks to get back.." He said to himself then put his nose to the ground. When he did, he wobbled and nearly fell in to the ground. Shaking his head off. "A bit clumpsy! Um.. Lov', did you mark the way perhaps? I seem to have forgotten to.." A nervous laughter, and in reality the anxiety of not knowing where he was, and the fact he didn't leave a trail of marks began to really worry him. He never did that.. he always left marks... He always knew how to get back..
"Let's be off! We have no time to lose!"

At Tsu's sudden outburst, Sobie turned to his mate and kissed his forehead, running a paw over his ears as Tsu corrected himself. It was heartening at least, for him to remember that much on his own... maybe he wasn't doing as badly today, as Sobie had originally thought. Maybe his mate wasn't losing his mind entirely, bit by bit..."I will take, the utmost care of it." Griffin spoke soft, humbled, without the usual forced quality to his voice. He nodded, swallowed but then shook his head.
Sobie busied himself, repacking the medical supplies as Tsu spoke with Griffin and then began to dash about like he always did. He was about to speak up when the young male did instead, offering what he was about to suggest, and so he made no comment otherwise. Just shouldering the pack.
"Please, ah, that is... if I could be so bold for a moment..." He cleared his voice before continuing. "I think before that, we should get you home. I would, if you wouldn't mind, that is, ah. I would, carry you, Tsu. It is not as if I think you are not capable of carrying yourself! I would just like to offer, you've already pushed yourself very hard..." "Yes, my dear, we know the way home. Even in his haste, Griffin marked the way through the wood." He wasn't about to easily forgive the day's troubles, but if Griffin could be serious and actually help, if he could manage to get the message to the kingdom without failing, then, he would begin to think of him in a better light.

He was prepared to go again, he rested some, his panic was going away. His feet wanted to go but his mind was telling him that Sobie and Griff knew best at this moment. That alone, gave him some anxiety.
"I-I-I-" He closed his eyes, and had to calm himself again. 'Don't need to be carried, we work just fine!' His feet answered his off the wall spells of anxiety, and of course they would answer that way!
"No.. If I'm being carried, I would only trust Sobie..and unless he thinks its best for you to carry me.. Don't." Side stepping a little and circling back to Sobie to bury his face behind the other's ear. "What you think best, Sobie, I will do.. if I am too mixed up, and you can't trust what my feet say- I can trust what you say Luv'." Speaking to him as if Griff had evaporated in to thin air, and when days like these come, he held on to Sobie, too tightly. "I won't fight." Seeming near defeated, he must have mixed up badly if it's best not to walk.
"Home." and in the way that he said it, he seemed desperate not to be in this state of mind any longer.
