He paused in his explanation to blink at her. Did - did she really not know? Had the story missed her? Babylon had always assumed that Hyperborea had other people besides him who she got information from. He'd figured that someone else had filled her in by now, or else the code had... <********. ******** planets fell because Beryl dragged the knight academy kicking and screaming into the rift and lead a chaos-tainted rebellion because the prince of Earth wouldn't break his engagement to the Moon Princess and date her instead," said Babylon. "That's the short version, anyway."

He fell into step behind her, not comfortable letting her wander by herself - parts of the house were in worse shape than others. When she turned back towards him, Babylon nodded. He'd lost track of how long they'd been on Mercury, but it had to be well over an hour and a half, and tromping all over the city could be exhausting.

"Yeah," he said, holding his arm out to her. "Let's head back."

Babylon frowned slightly. "Isn't that what I just said?" No one expects to need a huge military in peacetime and all that? Hyperborea sounded indignant, but it wasn't as though Babylon expected her to know everything all the time - though it was a bit weird that she was basically taking his ideas and repeating them. Faking it until you made it was a thing and all, but he was fairly sure you had to be a bit subtler about the faking.

Without further ado, he teleported them back to Earth. "My pleasure," he said, dipping slightly towards Hyperborea in the courtly affect she seemed to favor.
