Hydrus smiled lightly, cupping his tea cup in his hands and taking a sip. The hot liquid warmed him and he leaned back on the bench. Tea always calmed him, relaxed him. It was a quiet moment within a hectic world, and taking a sip allowed him to collect his thoughts without looking awkward. A soft sigh left his lips and he looked up at the sky,
"Somewhat. A rather lot of rain, though it made Kyoto and Nara gorgeous. I spent most of my time in a classroom, though. Summer study abroad program," he said quietly over his tea cup. It had been quite informative and a great experience, though something had... lacked. He wasn't sure it was because of his powered life not coming with him, or a small part of him still wondering where Mintaka had gone, but he'd found himself often distracted and dissatisfied.
"Did get to see the relatives over there though. It's nice to see some things that don't change with time," he continued, taking another sip. At least in their old age his grandparents were more worried about him being too thin than his future. "Grandmother was very impressed with my skills with tea."

"Did it?" She laughed, as the tea soothed her frayed nerves, and she took could relax with him. It was nice, she thought, to be able to sit by her friend and know that nothing really had changed. That he was still a constant in her life.
"Did you take pictures?" She cocked her head, "Was it....enjoyable to you though?" She asked only because she wanted to make sure Hydrus...was happy. If he was sent by his father, it was probably not completely enjoyable.
"Relatives? I didn't know you had family in Japan! What are they like?" She laughed, "She should be! You make a fantastic cup."

Hydrus nodded, pouring more tea for himself, and offering for her. A stray piece of hair fell over his shoulder, and he pushed it behind an ear. The, ah, tiara was a bit much sometimes. Especially for something that didn't even hold his hair back properly. He wondered how much influence he could have should he ever increase in strength; clearly this was a thing, as Mintaka sat next to him with waist wings after all, even if they were black. He couldn't deny the black did look good on her. She seemed... happier, some what. Stronger, perhaps.
At the question if it was enjoyable he laughed quietly into his cup. "The little time I spent outside the classroom and studying was relatively enjoyable. The program itself..." Hydrus sighed, lowering his tea. That was a harder question to answer. He wanted to tell her yes, he enjoyed all of it, that none of it was more duty than desire, and that it was time well spent.
But it hadn't been.
It had been grueling, uncomfortable, and hadn't given him credit for classes. It was just something his father forced him to do, like always, thinking it would benefit him and put him on a path. A path he didn't want, nor thought he could handle, quite honestly.
Hydrus just wanted to teach, like he had in that distant future.
"It... wasn't, if I'm to be truthful here. I was forced into it, because my father wants me to decide on a life path when... I don't even know if I'm going to be alive in the next five years. Do we even... have lives? Truly?" he said, emotion coloring his words. His voice broke softly, fingers clutching his cup. It was incredibly rare Hydrus showed emotion, even more so in front of someone, yet here he was.
"How can I plan for the future when I don't know if I'll have one."

She sipped her tea more, and listened carefully.
Hydrus, did seem very worried and she wondered why he put up with his father being like that. Except she had been in that same position. Telling her parents at one point she wanted to be a teacher rather then a business woman had been unheard of and honestly pushed away. And the reason she wanted to be a teacher was because of a the future she built with Hydrus and Aurostibite.
"We do." She looked over at him. "It won't be those lives we saw, because we saw them. It's going to be different and better, if we allow it." She reached over and rested her hand on his, squeezing it.
"Why don't you live, one day at a time?" She cocked her head, "Perhaps, it would be not so bad, to tell your father that you have chosen a path. It's to continue to search for one, on your terms. If he doesn't understand Hydrus, then I would always welcome you, in my home, with a freedom to do as you needed and wanted."

He smiled at her, squeezing back. It reassured him to hear her say that, yes they did have lives, and to remind him to live one day at a time. Live in the present moment, not in the future or past. The future was the future for a reason, after all.
"I want to be a teacher, you know. Elementary or middle school. I think... maybe I'll pursue that. Who knows, perhaps I will follow you into the dark as well." The senshi smiled at her again, and drained his tea cup.
"Would you like anymore tea, and are you feeling better? I've to be up early tomorrow for something, and should get going soon." He did not want to leave, to be honest, but it was growing late and they would both need sleep.
He only hoped she would be alright for the night.

"I don't think of it as the dark anymore...." She looked at him and brushed his hair back from his eyes. "But if you choose it, I will welcome you to my home and I will give you what you need."
She drank the rest of her tea and then nodded, handing the cup over.
"I'm feeling much better. I want to meet again, like this. If you want too." She stood up.
"Is that okay?" Regardless if not, she did set a time. Steam rolling Hydrus with her plans. Once he headed away and she could no longer feel his aura, she went back to her nightly activities.
