Shinji Nakamura
-Bount-

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Shinji looked over toward to Sayla, Kumo, and Aizawa...Those three didn't even seem to want to assist him with his problem which clued him into the bit of information that they all could tell what he was or even knew about the Bount. Screw them, he didn't need the help of a bunch of scum that would end up being nothing more than live-stock for the proud Bount race. He then turned his squinted eyes back to his doll, Shwarzgeist, which was struggling with the Hollow, locked in a grapple battle with the jaws of death as it would seem, and he got to his feet and prepared to take action. Rushing back at the Hollow he flashed through the shadows with his Shadow Step ability and appeared quickly to execute the Unified Front maneuver. The elderly spirit vampire's doll having the Hollow locked up, so to speak, provided the excellent opportunity to drive the point home, and quite literally, as the former soldier flashed into the air from a shadow and landed a boot down on the hilt of the knife to drive it all the way into the Hollow's skull, causing his foe to erupt into a loud pain-filled roar and distract it's concentration from maintaining it's grip and it provided Shwarzgeist the perfect oportunity to finish the job by ripping the Hollow's head in half! It was like watching somebody take apart two halves of an oreo cookie to get right at the creamy center, but in this instance it was more blood and brains and less cream and cookies.

With the Hollow defeated, Shinji absorbed it's spirit particles and infused it's soul into his own before picking up his knife from the ground were the Hollow once was. The elderly man simply looked over his shoulder with a wicked grin as Aizawa had slain the large gillian class that was plaguing them slightly behind him. One might think he was impressed, but no, he was pissed. He was literally on his own at this point and he repayed the gesture by floating the three a big middle finger, his doll also following along as the two walked onward to their next target while giving the group behind them the big 'F- You'. That was just how this relationship was going to go it seemed, and it didn't bother him to have any friends or allies. The Jokaisho Pillar before him was all he cared about anyway. It seemed like things were being taken care of effectively as the majority of plus souls had escaped and fled into other parts of the city or had been turned into Hollow which now swarmed and teemed around the impact site.

Kumo Daikyu
-Quincy-

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Kumo groaned internally as his shot missed and the Hollow had even gone out of it's way to show off a high speed movement technique, the impressive Sonido skill. It was hopeless for the Section Nine operative to even hope to match up to something like that beast in terms of skill and power at this current time, but fortunately, Aizawa showed up and his very presence there was their only saving grace as the more experienced Quincy dropped a pair of arrows simultaneously on the large spiritual carnivor. It inspired the raven haired Quincy to want to improve his own skills so that he would be on par with the skill shown by the bow wielding kinsman. The two arrows power was far greater than Kumo's own heilg pfil were at that point in the time, even with the Dominator's design geared for maximum impact. Still, the Hollow managed to evade one, but the point was made as one impacted through it's unique shielding technique. Were the beasts of the soul cycle really evolving strange and new powers? Was this all the influence of the Jokaisho Pillar? Were -had- this class of menos have come from anyway? These were all questions that were left plaguing Kumo Daikyu's mind as he watched the Hollow dissolve in it's destruction.

Sayla on a motorized vehicle like a motorcycle left him to deal with his own sub-section of the battle zone. Then there was Shinji who had brutally ripped apart and consumed the Hollow he and his Doll had been struggling with and was now stalking off while the pair of them flipped a bird to the rest of the group. 'Screw you too, big boy. You're dead once this is over...', he thought to himself as the hatred for the Bount coursed through his veins, but this was a natural reaction for Kumo. He was one who had been brought up in the teachings of the Sleeping Emperor, and his time when he would join the ranks of the Vandereich would be in the future, he just needed to keep his course and continue doing the job of the Soul Reapers, who were all strangely absent from this conflict. Had something happened in Soul Society? His superiors were heard over radios from downed Section Nine agents chattering about the same questions. It was certainly concerning, and it left Kumo wondering if their resentment at the Soul Society not dispatching forces to come assist with this mess was misplaced. This could all very well be the largest threat to human spiritual blindness and containment since the last great purge of the Bount, and the Quincy genocide before that. "We can't let this spiritual contamination last for much longer or we are going to have a huge issue on our hands...Somebody find a way to neutralize this zone fast!", he shouted through a radio he picked up off one of the fallen, but he got no response as he was interrupted in his communication by a claw that ripped the radio out of his hand and crushed it, a Hollow had snuck up on him during his transmission. "Kuso...You'll pay for that with your very existence!", he shouted in righteous fury as he aimed the Dominator up the Hollow's chin and fired an enhanced shot, blowing off half of the weakling creature's face, and the rest of it's body followed as his Quincy heilig pfil had disrupted it's ability to retain it's spiritual mass and it fell into destruction.

Sayla Marz [KP-X]
~ Anti-Spirit Weapons Platform ~

User Image

The mechanized Mod-Soul would be taken a back with just how fast the monstrous, Gillian-Level Hollow was fell by Aizawa. It was rather anti-climatic to see the beast taken down though it was a rather good thing as her use of the ES Dinah is denied rather hard over her radio channel. Sayla would still remain on her motorcycle, and keep her sword within her right hand, as she drove quickly through a swarm of the tainted spirits. Despite it seeming reckless, the mod-Soul managed to keep the vehicle perfectly balanced as she slashes through the horde of beasts around the stone pillar. Her primary mission being the containment of the impact site, now that all the Plus Souls were saved or turned. Secondary was stopping the Bounto and his doll from making too much ground work towards the pillar as well. She would rev the bike's engine, causing the back tire to spin and kick dirt and refuse into the face of a Hollow behind her, before quickly turning the machine and leveling her pistol in its face and blowing a hole in its mask. Sayla then speed off towards the old looking Bounto, though knowing not to underestimate the man due to his age, before sliding to a stop inches from him and leveling her pistol along side his head and firing a few rounds into a flying Hollow that seemed to be stalking the man and his doll. "Your welcome." The Mod-Soul would say a bit amused with herself before speeding off once more. The grin never once leaving her face as she made sure the man knew that she was watching him. "Kumo how does the Hollow elimination going in your sector?" Sayla would ask over the radio as she resumed her own driving and slashing style to cover more ground.

xxx Aizawa panted, his hand shaking half in exhaustion and half in anticipation. He was both shocked and entirely unsurprised that his shot rang true. It struck his target and vaporized the beast quite effectively. He may be drastically weaker than he was used to, but he still should've been able to accurately assess that the beast wasn't going to be much of a challenge. But, Aizawa couldn't shake the feeling that there was something worse waiting just around the corner, and it put him on edge. He wasn't trusting of the Bount, though a part of him felt like he should make sure he stayed safe as well. Though, similarly, a part of him was telling him to fire an arrow through everything in the area. Kumo and Sayla included. So he had to give everyone the benefit of the doubt equally. He took to taking deep breaths to regain his composure, but he couldn't shake the ever present feeling of desperation. Desperate to rid the world of the presence of the tower. Desperate to obtain it's power for himself. He could feel the tower's influence seeping into him, threatening to overwhelm him with his own desire for power. Inhale. Exhale. He had to focus. Logic was the way to go. Keep your foot steady on the path set before you and do what needs to be done. Duty as heavy as a mountain, death as light as a feather. He would carry the duty he must until the day he died and welcome death as a friend. Sighing to himself at the somber but realistic outlook, he felt sobered enough to focus on the task at hand. He felt some confirmation tickling at the back of his mind not kin to his own, but he moved forward, gears turning in his head. He had a few ideas for how to progress. Step one obviously being to keep everyone and everything away from the pillar and to eradicate all Hollows in the area, including ones that may be swarming potential enemies. Trigger finger itching, Aizawa fired a double shot at two Hollows near, but behind Shinji before turning to eradicate one each near Sayla and Kumo. The torrent seemed to have slowed at least some, but Aizawa got the feeling it was the calm before the storm. A short break before the next wave came crashing down upon them. He continued to pick off Hollow in the area relentlessly as he continued to think. Being able to focus on a repetitive task like firing shot after shot at the beasts scouring the area for souls gave him the ability to take a step back and look at the full picture, being able to think with the best part of his mind.

The first thought to occur to Aizawa was the most simple. Destroy the tower. Easier said than done, however. Without the full Yujinchou at his disposal or the ability to carry out some of his more adept exorcism techniques, he was at a loss for how to exert that much power to reject an item of this proportion, let alone crush it entirely. Even if they were to combine the efforts of everyone in the area, he had a feeling it wouldn't be enough. Not even close to being enough. And as was demonstrated with his weaker shot, it merely angered the Hollow in the area. (Which brought up the question 'Why'. This thought got pushed back for the moment.) Even a stronger Anti Spirit Shot wouldn't damage the crystal besides a chip if it even accomplished that, and Aizawa wasn't about to risk another wave when they finally had gained a respite from it.

The second, which Aizawa had actually suggested, was a quarantine. If you couldn't eradicate the problem, you eliminate the immediate threats around it and quarantine it with a strong enough barrier until you can think of a further solution. The problem there obviously being that this was a very large pillar and none in the area seemed to be able to use spiritual barrier techniques let alone have the spiritual power to create and maintain a barrier large enough to contain this crystal, this power source-- Perhaps containing the power of the crystal would be impossible, even, or at least threaten to overwhelm whoever attempted it.

It was at this point in his thinking and firing that Aizawa received the message over the radio. Already on the process of figuring out a way of solving this problem, Aizawa scoffed. But he had to admit it wasn't Kumo's fault. He was frustrated at himself. If he only had access to-- No. It didn't matter what he didn't have access to. He didn't. And it was as simple as that. Making excuses wouldn't help solve anything. It then struck a chord with him. 'Neutralize' the area. Hm. Using a technique he had been working on, but hadn't mastered yet, a form of a Quincy technique he was also learning the ropes of, he used his spiritual ability to magnify his voice and allow it to carry on the wind, not having the luxury of bending down and picking up the radio of the fallen . . . soldier? Were they a military of some sort? Earth sure needed one, that was for certain. Speaking as loud and clearly as possible, Aizawa began. "I may have an idea, but if anyone else does, I'd sure like to hear it." before explaining let alone attempting his heinous idea, Aizawa desperately wanted to try anything else that even seemed like it might work. At this point, he was addressing everyone. Even Shinji. Any thing to get himself out from under the obligation to solve this problem. Heavy as a mountain. He would face it if he had to. Plus, they were running short on time. If no one spoke up soon, he would have to try and solve this problem on his own, evacute everyone else from the area . . . Light as a feather.

Shinji Nakamura
-Bount-

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Shinji Nakamura had no intention of neutralizing the Crystal, in fact, as he approached it he began to draw in spirit particles. The consumption of reishi was something similar to the same process that Quincy used to form their bows and manifest their arrows. The area was teeming with spirit particles, and if he didn't know any better he could have sworn he were in the Soul Society, based at how fast his injuries were repairing themselves. "Oh yeah, this power is the power I've been searching for..It's going to crank the difficulty of the game up alright.", he said with a wicked grin on his lips. He then turned to Aizawa as he was addressed and his eyebrows lofted slightly as the Quincy had actually been eliminating Hollow from around him and his black ghost doll. It was interesting that the guy was seemingly coming up with a plan to eliminate the problem of the Jokaisho Pillar. "Ehh, got a Bount and Two Quincy, and this thing is made completely of reishi. We could try to consume as much energy as possible from it by you forming your weapons and firing as many arrows as you can and me...well..I could simply take few bites out of it, myself. It's a risky plan, but it's a possibility, no?", he said with a confident smirk on his lips to the more wizened of the two Quincy. Sayla seemed intent on not allowing Shinji near the pillar, but it was becoming more apparent that the possibility that the modified 'snack' was looking to avoid might indeed be the answer to the problem they were all facing now.

Shinji also really didn't care too much about stopping the pillar from radiating it's spirit pressure and drawing in Hollow. It was like a constant beacon to light the way to a spiritual feasting grounds, but it also made it impossible for people to live in Karakura in peace and that did not suit his grand design for domination in the slightest. He looked to his ghost which stood there ominously, silent and unspeaking before he looked over to Aizawa again, wondering if helping his enemies eliminate a larger threat that affected his own evil plans was even a wise thing to do. His doll spoke up then, and it was apparent that it was the only course of action by the words that Shwarzgeist spoke, "Crank up the difficulty!" Shinji nodded at the spectral moan that was an echo of his previous words. Seemed like the doll was on the right path there. Helping the Quincy and Section Nine was his only option at this moment.

Kumo Daikyu
-Quincy-

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Kumo Daikyu, Section Nine rookie agent and Quincy, looked to Aizawa and then over to were Sayla was eliminating Hollow. The three of them had been doing a lot of work, and using the Dominator as much as he had was leaving Kumo's hands feeling raw from the use of the spirit energy he hadn't had much practice with yet. There was so much he had to learn in comparison to Aizawa, who was clearly a more developed Quincy than he was, as much as he was pained to admit. There was a humbling effect being around somebody who seemed to know more about the world and the threat this pillar seemed to submit the mortal realm to. If it were truly as dangerous as the more experienced bowman had alluded to, causing evolution and changes in the spirits that utilized it's power, then quarantining it or going with Shinji's idea and depleting it's power seemed to be the next best course of action. "Sayla, I grow tired, and I feel I will soon reach my limit..so if we're going to hold out until the calvary arrives with the special technological unit, then we need to try something.", he said over a radio he picked up off another of the fallen swat unit.

He had to find some way of dealing with the Jokaisho Pillar, but he didn't want to play into Shinji's hand anymore than the Bount seemed to want to work with the group. Aizawa had an idea, and that was perfect, but if this was going to be accomplished, it was going to be as a team effort and the group would need to focus their efforts into dealing with it as the clock was against them, their resources were running out, and Soul Society did not seem like it was going to be able to respond. They were on their own with this matter and it was up to Section Nine to prove that with all the government spending on their secret division of the special forces that they could do the job they had been assigned to do, rookies or not. "Let's try the Bount's plan, but as soon as we have depleted the crystal enough, Sayla..fire your weapons array at it, and let's see if we can't weaken the barrier enough that it will shatter. This thing is made up of spirit particles, so we should be able to take it down a peg or two..so what do you say? Let's give it a shot..We have nothing to lose, but everything to gain from trying.", he said as he grinned a wide confident smile. They needed a light in this darkness, and if he could be a source, then he would try to give hope to those around him and prove that they didn't need to rely on Soul Society or anyone else but the defenders of this realm to solve it's problems. "If anything we can just by the special technological unit some time to get here with the advanced barrier shielding to perform the quarantine operation.", he admitted, offering the group a back-up plan in the event they were unable to destroy the pillar.

User ImageEscha certainly showed up to the scene late, but hey it was better late than never right? Amber eyes scanned over the battle field before her. It was a mess, an absolute mess. The hollow threat was very much real before her. It did not seem like there was anything particularly powerful on the battlefield. However their numbers were simply astounding. She was sure that her lending a helping hand would be welcomed by anyone really. A deep exhale left her lips, and she clenched her fists near her cheeks. "Ok. I'll just stay calm, and do my best." she would say to herself. It was clearly a little pep talk to herself before she pulled out her composite bow. The young quincy was no stranger to the threat of the hollow kind, but these numbers were just too much.

Escha reached beneath her scarf, and clutched a simple necklace. It was a simple thin silver chain holding a silver heart shaped pendant. The necklace was a gift from her family on her tenth birthday. It was a very important piece of her childhood, but it also served as symbol of the cruelty in the world. Still it was a precious piece of jewelry that she would damn near guard with her life. After a brief moment of clutching the precious piece, she would tuck it under her scarf again. It was time to proceed forward with dealing with the threat that was playing out before her.

Escha moved as quickly and as quietly as she could. She sneaked up on an unfortunate hollow like a thief in the night. The damn thing was dead, and it didn't even know it yet. What made it easier was that it was paying attention to something else, whatever it was that hollows did. The young quincy pulled back her bow, and fired the shot right into the hollow. It was quickly vanquished. "One down... way too many to go." she said followed by a soft sigh.

Amber eyes scanned over, she had to decide what to do next. She saw what looked to be an organized group. It wasn't surprising by any means. It made sense that a group was made. After all, there was safety in numbers. Also a clear plan could lead to victory over this disaster. What should she do? Try to assist or not? She enjoyed being around others, but she did not necessarily enjoy being affiliated with a group. Besides, there was nothing wrong with being a free agent. In fact, she couldn't think of anything cooler.

Still, there was a threat at hand. That large blue crystalline structure wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Was it attracting those beasts? It was just crazy. Suddenly, a hollow was moving in on her, and fast! It didn't seem to be particularly powerful, but she was not comfortable with it being in such a close proximity. "Not today." she would say with a little bit of a sassy tone. A soft giggle would leave her lips. The young quincy would jump back away from the hollow while firing off shots from her bow in rapid succession.

After vanquishing the hollow that gotten way to close for comfort, she was closer to the group that she had saw earlier. Amber eyes widened when she had heard that they intended to attack the large blue pillar. What was worse, that they did not sound confident about the results that such an attack would produce. With haste she ran over to the guy with blue black hair that she had heard discussing this plan. "You're planning on attacking that thing?" she would say while pointing to the pillar. "Oh I'm sorry it wasn't like I was eavesdropping or anything. It's just that if there is any way I could assist, I would be glad to." she would say with a warm but awkward smile.

Sayla Marz [KP-X]
~ Anti-Spirit Weapons Platform ~

User Image

Use of the motorcycle was actually slowing down the Mod-Soul's ability to eliminate the Hollow threat, as it limited her means of attack. Sayla would kill the engine on the machine and begin to step off as she over heard the Bounto speaking of absorbing in the power of the stone, while allowing the Quincy to dispose of what he couldn't handle. Though it was directed towards her, Sayla would shoot her crimson gaze to the man and doll, "I don't think so. I will not allow a Bounto to take it this kind of energy." She would then walk over to this stone and hesitantly place her hand on it, "In the name of Earth, I, Sayla Marz, will not allow an enemy of mankind to have such a power." Her fierce gaze would fall upon the old man as she spoke out against him, "Agent Kumo, worry not about the Hollow. If this Bounto tries to get the stone, stop him." Her mechanical body would walk from the stone as if she felt some sort of extra power pulsing through her form. "Requesting access to experimental weaponry in order to eliminate and contain remaining Hollow threat." She would speak coolly as her pistol would dematerialize from her hand. Her crimson eyes scan over the remaining Hollow forces along with the Bounto to make sure not a one got closer to the crystalline structure. An approval rang in her head before she would speak again, "Access to experimental weapons granted." After the statement, two multi-barrel gatling guns materialize in each of the Mod-Soul's hands. Soon after the barrels begin to spin, allowing her to mow down the Hollows far faster than her sword and pistol did earlier. She would slowly walk around the pillar while mowing down the swarms of Hollow that remained before her, only letting the weapons rest once the deed had been done. Both guns vanish in the same way as the rest of Sayla's weaponry do afterwards, "Area cleared." She would then step forward and order some of the Section Nine guards to contain the site now that the Hollow threat had been dealt with.

Her crimson eyes watching Shinji as she walks to the new Quincy that had just entered the impact site to help them. "Thank you for the help, Ma'am. My name is Salya Marz, or Section Nine." She would motion to the two Quincy males standing near each other, "These are Kumo Daikyu, and Aiwara." The Mod-Soul would give a soft bow to the new female in the ranks, "I am sorry that this site is in such a terrible shape."

xxx Aizawa breathed a sigh of relief however slight of a relief it may have been. Sayla had effectively eliminated the remaining Hollow threat in the area, only leaving the crystal itself to be dealt with . . . however they were going to do that. Aizawa made his way over to consort with those who had assisted in the elimination of the Hollows in the area. It had taken a far less amount of time than he had expected with Sayla's weaponry, though Aizawa himself preferred more conventional means, effectiveness was effectiveness. Whatever got the job done, so long as it didn't skirt the line between right and wrong. Though, Aizawa had danced along that line a few times in his life. In his far younger years, he had practically lived on the other side of it . . . though that was hardly his own fault. But, a man is a controller of his own destiny. These thoughts brought back up the one topic that broke his heart and he could nearly feel tears welling up inside of his mind. Assuming the void and pushing all emotion away from himself, he approached the group, perhaps not the best way to enter into social interaction, but better than enter it as a blubbering fool unable to contain his emotion. Aizawa would nod his head formally at the newly arrived Quincy in the area, a larger gathering of Quincies than he had seen since his time with the Imperium. He felt emotion flare up on the outside of the void, so far away but threatening to break through. "Good work." he spoke to no one and everyone in particular. Much like his normal self. Much like how he was when she was around. He had to keep himself focused on the void. Focused on the task at hand. "We can't leave the area as it is. And I'm afraid I don't have the means to repair this area in a timely manner like I once had." he began, before realizing that that perhaps revealed too much. He continued on as he would have, no taking back words now. "Perhaps this . . . Section Nine, was it?" So that was the organization's name. He knew they seemed too organized to be individuals working together randomly. "Perhaps they have an easier means than physically rebuilding these buildings and taking care of lost ones?" He was obviously neglecting to mention the biggest problem that was still present, which was the stone within the area. His eyes could not avoid looking at it, but though he neglected to bring it up out of consideration for the fact that he was certain there was nothing they could do immediately or else someone would have brought it up by now, he never gave up trying to figure out a way to rid the city of it. He wouldn't let that tower stand on Earth. He couldn't. It would merely summon more problems to the area, something he had vowed himself to not allow happen on Earth and especially Karakura Town which seemed a haven for bad news and problems. He agreed that it needed to be guarded, though how much these men could be trusted, he didn't know. He also didn't like that Sayla had put her hand on the stone, as well. He thought she would know better than that. Perhaps she was as tempted by it's power as he was. He would have to keep an eye on her. Her as well as the Bount that had suggested eating it. If getting close to the stone didn't say it, that confirmed his intentions. Aizawa's intentions were not set on fixing the buildings in the area, though his heart did go out to those whose homes were destroyed and he would help out in any way that he couldn't, but his heart was more so set on helping the souls in the area move on and higher and greater than any of his other intentions were his goals to create an environment where the residents of Earth could rest in peace. He was tired of the chaos. He was tired of the mayhem. It wasn't good enough to deal with a threat after it had already descended. And it was incredible what Heru and the Imperium did for the spiritually aware and other members of Earth. It offered much protection to an incredibly large amount of people. But, now, Aizawa wouldn't even be satisfied with that. He wanted total protection for all members of Earth as lofty of a goal as that was. The residents of Earth deserved as much after all they had suffered at the warring hands of Hollow and Shinigami kind. The latter of whom didn't even bother to show up and deal with the threat. That was fine, though. If they felt that the residents of earth should fend for themselves, then that was exactly what they would have to do. It was likely for this very reason that Quincy and Shinigami did not get along. In this timeline, he wasn't exactly sure, but something along the lines had been true in his own, though he focused on the here and now more than history, though he did familiarize himself with some areas when it became necessary to Shinra . . . The pause that always held his mind made itself present before Aizawa moved past it. He was somber to the fact of his old life, but focused and driven to make a new and better life this side of the Way Gate. The term skimmed across his mind without a second thought, though perhaps he would notice in due time it's presence. His eyes glossed over, but he was vaguely aware of everything in the area, maybe more so than if he was tuned in on any one thing in particular. There were flickers of movements in the area that were catching his eye and drawing his attention. It seemed a good idea to not assume the threat was completely over. Not yet.

Ishamael, or Ma'Shadar, as he preferred to be called, sat atop a building knocked over by the Jokaisho Tower. He was absurdly close to the tower and none seemed to register his presence in the area, as he was simply another normal human in the area with a regular level of power, having just awoken his powers when the tower landed on Earth. He had always felt somewhat different, but now he knew that he was. Memories from past lives began flooding his head, and he knew what he was and part of what he had to do. Things would be getting very interesting from now on. A wide grin broke out on Ma'Shadar's face and he watched close what those in the area would do next. He would have to stay undercover for now, but his time would undoubtedly come. He would just have to wait for the memories.

User Image"Yes ma'am." Hito would apply, his techno markings having faded entirely due to it having been a while since he used his abilities last. The spike on the back of his neck was hidden behind the high collar he was wearing a uniform from a fallen 'Section Nine' member he had heard them been called. He followed in line the soldiers that were protecting the stone. He followed to his station around the stone to guard it before glancing at the tazers on the belts of several of the soldiers. There were on two people in view of him on his side of the crystal. As soon as stations were taken, he activated their tazers remotely, rendering them unconscious. He approached the crystal and slid his hand across it, drinking in it's power. humans were far easier to deal with than Hollow.

Seraphim, the wait haired doll approached Shinji. He would recognize what Seraphim truly was, if no one else did. He wasn't in his Varta form, but still. "Around back of the crystal. There are many eyes on you . . . be . . . inconspicuous." the formal doll spoke. His master had too great of a 'heart' for his Bount kind. The doll stormed off from the man, obviously seeming as if he had warned the man about the crystal. He had approached Shinji the same way he had approached a few others in the area lingering perhaps just a bit too close to the Jokaisho tower. Now Seraphim approached the group gathered a bit of the ways off. "Superb handling of a sticky situation." Seraphim laughed heartily as he addressed the group. No need to make them wonder, or perhaps there was much reason to. He had a very genuine smile on his lips, but the mirth didn't quite touch his eyes, but perhaps there was an implacable amount of entertainment hidden behind them. "The name's Seraphim. No jokes. I had no say in the matter, though you have to admit it's unique." he didn't want to drop more clues to his intentions than he had to. Unless one of those present needed a name to activate some sort of ability, he was safe. He also had to think about who he was in the presence of. No. No risk for something like that here. Much better to err on the side of safety and avoid setting of a lie detector in any of those present. Something far more likely, he felt.

Section 9 : Special Forces Technological Unit

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

With the elimination of the remaining Hollow threat, the heroes had bought enough time for the Special Forces Technological Unit to show up as they were originally supposed to, but the delays caused by the intense fighting and spiritual activity had only been a minor stall. The human world would be safe another day, at least for now. Missiles launched from sea all impacted in a tight zone around the Jokaisho Pillar, but their payload was non-explosive. The projectiles on impact began to open up and form a containment field around the object, neutralizing it's 'broadcast' of spirit particles into the world of the living for now. This would buy time for analysis and devising a means to it's destruction. The barrier itself allowed people to pass in and out freely, except for spirit particles. This was one of the many advancements that humanity had developed with the aid of the Quincy influence and contacts within the Twelfth Division of the Gotei 13. It had it's limits, in the fact that it would not last forever.

A scientist in combat gear signaled everyone of the spiritually active individuals there to come and listen to an explanation. Those that would approach would be apprised of the Jokaisho Pillar's actual nature. "I am Scientist, Dr. Tetsuo Kawabata. I want to thank you all for your assistance with the threat and for those who have shown up out of curiosity, you will have your use soon enough...The pillar of crystal, made up of a substance known as Jokaisho is a gateway. To where, we know not, but I have developed a theory that on the other side we will find the answer.", the scientist dressed in combat gear explained as he was preparing the would-be heroes for their next mission. "Should you be ready to brave forward into the unknown to stop this threat and save our world, I will show you the entrance to the gate.", he continued as he held up a data-pad for those who wished to listen to view a three-dimensional model of the pillar, showing a concealed entrance on the right side, and the internal scans showed it to have stairs upward as if some sort of tower. "The door has not opened, but the time is near. We will keep the barrier active for as long as possible, and you will all need some rest."

All around there were members of the technological unit setting up devices, and even members of the Earth Response Unit of the Sixth Division of the Seireitei had shown up, utilizing their techniques in assistance in the reconstruction of the buildings via spirit particles and kidou to repair the residential district up to the barrier point, the impact site still un-repaired until the pillar was dealt with.

- The Earth Threat is Neutralized; The topic will still render words for the event through the rest of the month.
- The Second Chapter will begin at the end of March; During that time of rest it is assumed that the pillar will be maintained by Section 9.
- Those wishing to acquire a "Jokaisho Shard" for an upgrade may spend 500 Words searching around the pillar, helping study it to be rewarded with a shard. This may only be done once per character.

Kumo Daikyu
-Quincy-

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Kumo appeared to listen carefully to the Section Nine officer of the technological division with intent curiousity as to the explanation of the pillar and what had been discovered after Sayla and Aizawa in combination with the others had finished wiping out the Hollow threat. He was tired and exhausted, himself, from the intense fighting and the reprieve that had been granted, ultimately, by Sayla's advanced weaponry that had likely been developed by the same Technological Division that had set up the barrier around the crystal and was containing it effectively. It was all so impressive to Kumo as to just how far Earth had come when it came to dealing with Hollow threats on the large scale, but he had to give credit to Soul Society for their assistance with technology in the spiritual realm, no matter how much it actually irritated him to give credit to those Soul Reaper bastards who had defeated the Sleeping Emperor and ended the Quincy conflict with the death of more of his kinsmen.

War was never good, and the first Quincy genocide followed by the attempted Bount extermination, and the Arrancar Invasion, and then ultimately the Blood War that had resulted in the Quincy suffering another loss at the hands of the Soul Reapers had left both sides on tensions. Tensions that had been eased by the efforts of the Quincy, like Aizawa, who had adopted the old ways and were emissaries of peace and cooperation..supposedly. Kumo was the other side of that coin, following the ways and teachings of the Sleeping Emperor who would one day return. They believed with all their heart that the will of the Quincy Emperor, even with his body destroyed, still lived on in the Soul Cycle and influenced the faithful. Rumors of those of extreme faith to the doctrines of the Sleeping Emperor being blessed with greater powers beyond the Volstandeig existed and Kumo hoped one day that he would be worthy of that blessing.

"I suppose with things under wraps here, we just wait until the invading 'god' decides to invite us to his inner sanctum..From there we will deal with things?", Kumo asked and stated all at the same time. "I also conclude now would be a good time to go train and gather strength for the conflict to come.", he added as a suggestion to those present. It wasn't a bad idea that he had presented, and there was a slight bit of wisdom behind that. Aizawa was only able to win by raw power, and Kumo had a feeling that they would all need to get stronger, and far more powerful than their current states to be able to defeat this otherworldly threat. They couldn't all just expect Aizawa to be the one to save them all, and there was no telling as to what was going on in the other worlds. The lack of Shinigami must have meant that something had happened in the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo, as well, as there were a lack of truly strong Hollow present either.

"Incoming blast on the port side!", First Mate Sintaro shouted, from the bow of Terminus Est, his black hair pulled back into a tight ponytail.

Captain Larkin stood behind the wheel, his Raven perched on his shoulder, as usual. He did not have time to engage the shields as the cero slammed into the ship. There was the dul cruch of the hull, as it gave way to the blast of reishi. He did not have time to assess the damage, as he whipped the wheel to the side.

The ship moaned and leaned as it went into a wide turn, the reishi cannons taking aim at the massive hollow. They were well out of melee range, but the hollow (probably a gillian-class hollow, Larkin noted) seemed to know this, as it prepared another blast from its toothy maw.

Larkin's knuckles were white on the wheel, as he shouted.

"Charge the cannons!"

The almost-electric whirring of the line of reishi cannons was music to Larkin's ears. They took a second to charge.

"Fire!", larkin shoute, Terminus Est firing it's blasts at the same time the hollow did, the projectiles passing each other. The Cero made hard impact with the ship, and Larkin felt the engines shut down.

Terminus Est was no longer an airship, but a regular ship that happened to be a few hundred feet in the air. The ship pitched forward, diving towards the ground.

"Somebody get those engines running, or we're gonna crash!", Larkin screamed, but it was no use. Within a few seconds, the ship made hard impact with the ground, and Larkin's vision went black.

---
Several hours later...
---

Larkin's eyes fluttered open, and he spent a few seconds looking straight up to the sky. The bright sun made him squint, so he closed his eyes again for a moment, gathering himself, before pulling himself to his feet. He saw his Raven flying in a circle above the ship. He looked around himself, pieces of his ship scattering the ground. His face turned to stone as he began to search the wreckage for his crew. He found some of them, but none were left alive.

Rage took him, as he gripped his cane. First they had taken his wife and daughter, and then his leg. Now they had taken his ship and crew, all he had left. His ship could be repaired, but it would be a difficult process, even with a full crew. He was utterly alone, so such a task seemed insurmountable.

Something blue and shimmering caught Larkin's attention. He turned his head, taking in the sight - a tall crystal spire stood jutting out of the ground, not too far from the ship. This is what his spotters had seen, what had brought him to this area in the first place. Without a thought, he approached the crystal.

There were pieces of it scattered across the ground. Larkin bent down, and scooped one up, placing it in a pocket at his side. He turned back to his ship, taking stock of the extent of the damage.

The hull was in pieces, both fro the cero blasts and from the impact with the ground. His sails were ripped to shreds. There was not a salvagable reishi cannon left, and the engines were mangled beyond repair. The shield generator was completely missing, probably flung from the ship. It could be anywhere.

With a sigh, Larkin began gathering the pieces of the ship. He would have to work on it here. It was too large to transport.

xxx Aizawa closed his eyes as he listened to the man speak. He was exhausted and not quite in the mood for dealing with this Section 9. He was glad that Soul Society had finally decided to show up and help out, assisting in putting the city back to it's original state. He didn't really have hard feelings towards Shinigami. Well. He did, but he tried to suppress them. He always had for Shinra's sake. And he would continue to. He didn't know how well he could manage with Hollows despite how Shinra viewed them. He never was good at masking how he felt towards them. He listened intently, however and when the word 'gate' escaped from the scientist's mouth, Aizawa's eyes shot open and locked onto the crystal pillar. "Shinra." Aizawa spoke with great resolve in his voice. "Thank you for the information." Aizawa spoke with a bow just before the scientist finished his address. Aizawa was blind to all else around him sans the Jokaisho Pillar. He approached it hastily, but with caution. Perhaps he could figure a way to get in. He had to get in. He didn't care what these people said. He was practically shaking with anticipation. He looked the crystal over from every angle examining it as finely as he could, even running his fingers across the surface of it despite his prior warnings. The bount, Shinji, was nowhere to be seen and despite a couple of guards laying on the ground, there was nothing out of the ordinary that he could find. Cursing under his breath, Aizawa punched the stone before him. If he kept grinding his teeth like this, there would be nothing left before long. Easing the tension with a deep breath, Aizawa looked back towards the gathering here. Perhaps teamwork counted for something looking at the way Sayla handled the situation. He couldn't break the edge he felt at the time being, but maybe it wouldn't hurt to look for some partners in this world. And Kumo was right about one thing, he needed to get stronger. Much stronger. Aizawa knew he would return to this stone once it opened up and he needed to be prepared for what was on the other side. He tried to tell himself it likely was not Shinra, but he couldn't help but to get his hopes up. Driving those thoughts from his head, he returned to the group, taking a deep of a bow as possible, his years spent as a servant coming in handy for seeming appropriately reserved and humble. Taking a breath at the depth of the bow, he tried to remove as much of the edge that he felt from his voice. "I thank you all and your . . . Section Nine and the work you do for Earth. I praise you in your duties and pray for continual success in your efforts to protect a world that deserves much better than it receives." The words were earnest, but Aizawa did have to be deliberate about his wording. He often came across as too formal and that was something he unfortunately could do nothing about in instances like these. "I hope to fight along side you again in the future and I hope I can be of more service to you then than I was this time around." Again, this time around the words were earnest and perhaps even more revealing and honest than Aizawa himself knew. He genuinely felt like he hadn't contributed much to this encounter. In his prime, he would have been able to handle the entire situation in no time flat, perhaps even forcing open the gate and storming in unaware of any dangers that may be lurking. Shinra's luck and his own power had left him, though and he was left a shell of the man he used to be. It wasn't hard to keep yourself humble when you kept that in mind. And it wasn't hard to keep that in mind when you were faced with it constantly in battle. Time for training.

User Image Escha would smile rather happily as she greeted by the people around around, namely the girl named Sayla. She would then give a double wave to those around her. "I'm Escha Maxwell. Sorry I was completely late, and I wasn't much help. I'll do better next time." she continued with a nervous smile. It was not long before section nine would secure the pillar. Then some scientist would explain what was going on. He spoke of the pillar being a portal to who knows where. Hey if they went to the other side they would find out! He would then speak about them saving the world. Sounded a bit responsible to her. Gross. It was then that he said they should rest up or whatever until it was time to explore, and save the world. "Well, Now that it is over. I'll see you guys later." she would then say. With a quick wave she would leave the distract to do other stuff.
