[A'nos with crimson Symphony Intelligence : 14 Physique : 14 Dexterity : 15]
Seen as he had a pretty firelizard he would be remiss not to enter the showing! Symphony wasn't really trained for this sort of thing but a lot of people were entering with pets, companions, and messengers so he wasn't too deterred.
Symphony herself wasn't all that sure about all the people who were looking at her as they stepped up to take their turn at the challenges but she wanted very much to please A'nos and so she tried to stay focused on him. The first task was to.... To fetch the things? But not to him to anyone she knew, to the people over there? The crimson gave an uncertain warble and launched off her master's shoulder. So many eyes though, staring, and so many exciting smells and sounds! The crimson firelizard disappeared.
A'nos waited a few moments and then covered his face with his hand. "Oh dear," he said in the good natured tones of one who doesn't mind being the object of a little good natured fun, of course not! "I... don't think she's fetching the items. I'll call her back shall I?" Well everyone had to fail occasionally he supposed, and he smiled, and gripped Symphony's mind firmly and let her know that he was Disappointed.
Symphony reappeared and quickly returned to land on A'nos' shoulder, creeling her apology and nosing at his ear. She didn’t like it when she failed, when he was unhappy with her, she would do better on the next task! She absolutely would.
Still smiling A’nos stroked her little head and clucked his tongue. “Ah, don’t worry, I did rather throw you in at the deep end.” He hoped whatever she’d just gone and done hadn’t spoiled the sheen of her hide! He’d worked hard at oiling her up to perfection.

Next A'nos carried Symphony up to the judges for inspection, instructing her firmly to behave herself. No jumping up at anyone. No shrinking away. Definitely no playfully batting at investigative fingers.
Symphony trilled and hopped down onto the inspection plinth, allowing the judge to manipulate her wings and lift her up to look at her belly and all other manner of strange things they seemed to want to do. When they were finished they nodded and A'nos looked satisfied as he called her back to his shoulder. Maybe that made up for her not getting the last thing right? She couldn't think why any of them would have wanted the things she was told to bring anyway.

[A'nos with crimson Symphony Intelligence : 14 Physique : 14 Dexterity : 15]
Next was the dexterity trial, a measure of Symphony's agility. She was a little slip of a thing for a crimson and quite acrobatic in her every day life so A'nos was confident she could do the course. What he wasn't so sure of was whether or not she'd do it without simply betweening to avoid some of the objects; communicating to her that she was not allowed would be key here.
Leaving Symphony on the start line A'nos elected to move to the end of the little course to direct her and focused all of his concentration on telling her to come the long way, the hard way. She was here to make it look good!
Look good? Symphony bobbed her head. She could do look good! With a happy trill she launched off the start at her master's command and twirled in the air as she passed through the first hoop. This was fun! She wove in and out of the things she was supposed to without so much as brushing them and, as something was thrown for her to catch, she turned a somersault in the air and caught it as she came level again. There was one more hoop - she whizzed through it upsidedown - and then there was polite applause from the spectators and approval from A'nos as she landed on his shoulder again. Yay! She'd done good! Good girl Symphony!
“Good girl,” A’nos affirmed, reaching up to tickle her under the chin and smiling appreciatively at their kind audience. Now, one last trial! If she could do as well on that one as she had on this one he would be most pleased.
[Result: -10, success 288]

[A'nos with crimson Symphony Intelligence : 14 Physique : 14 Dexterity : 15]
For freestyle he had elected to show off Symphony's agility again and after her performance on the obstacle course he was glad that he had. Having not pre-planned his entry as such it was a fairly simple entry but hopefully a pleasing one, and he had brought his lyre along to help with the performance.
A'nos perched on a stool with his instrument and started to play, and Symphony took to the air to dance to the music. It started simple, quite slow and sleepy, but over the course of the time they were allotted the music grew faster and more sprightly, and Symphony kept pace with it with little trills and chirps to compliment his playing
When the last notes were plucked they received polite applause once more and Symphony came back in to land on A'nos' shoulder.
All in all, he felt, that had been a pretty good show.
Other than the failure.
[Result: -10, success Final score: 21]

C'tis & Blue Fang Intelligence : 11 Physique : 10 Dexterity : 18
Roll: 2 Difference: 9 Total score: 9 ___________
Malcarreth was spaced out by the lake grumbling about his multiple and much assorted aches and pains from the wing relay, somehow C'tis didn't think he was going to make it to the agility course but the blue might yet prove him wrong. Maybe. In order to alleviate boredom therefore he had decided to replace watching his blue dragon wow the crowds with watching his blue firelizard terrorize the judges, it beat wandering around the stalls for the umpteenth time at any rate.
Fang was scarred. He looked like he'd got into a fight with a meat mincer, but won. Fang was mean.
Fang was also unimpressed by what he was being asked to do here, he had strenuously resisted all attempts to primp him in preparation - C'tis scratched hands and forearms attest to a valiant but fruitless effort - and much as C'tis was trying to persuade him to go fetch the right items for the slightly worried looking judges he wasn't sure if it was going to work.
What was the point? Fang's orange-eyed glare seemed to ask. He couldn't eat, fight, or mate with any of the objects and why would he want to give a treasure away?
C'tis tried to communicate that it was a way to show off his prowess - Fang better than the other firelizards, right?
Fang glared some more before jumping off C'tis' shoulder and proceeding to collect the items and deliver them to the judges. He didn't even claw anyone as he did it, which C'tis considered quite a success. (260)

Next was the physique test which was.... Well C'tis was just trying hard to persuade Fang not to attack the judge who was peering cautiously at his scarred frame. C'tis thought Fang was handsome; he was muscled, well proportioned, and had really excellent teeth-
No! No no using the teeth.
Fang gave a disappointed growl but acquiesced for the time being. Not biting the judge then, fine.
Apparently Fang's practical look did not impress the judges however, the woman walked away with a tut and a shake of her head. C'tis resisted the urge to give her the finger.

C'tis snorted and set Fang off on the course, emphasizing to him that he was to show off. Let the lady flitts see his moves, hu?
Now that Fang could understand and, with a flick of his tail and a growly, manly-flitt croon to any lady-flitt listening he set off along the course twisting and turning neatly to pass all obstacles by.

C'tis & Blue Fang Intelligence : 11 Physique : 10 Dexterity : 18
Roll: 18 Difference: 0 Total score: 14 ___________
Last came the free style, C'tis had been quite looking forward to this one.
Opening a little pouch at his waist he took out a pebble with parchment wrapped around it. There were other kinds in the bag too, some covered with knotted string, some of cloth, but all things that were flammable... and even more so after he'd treated them with a little oil. He tossed it into the air a few times and then directed Fang to fly away from him. He then hurled the pebble through the air and whistled to Fang, who swooped in to set it on fire. C'tis followed up his initial throw with more, challenging Fang to fly further each time and sometimes forcing him to between to get to his target in time.
In hindsight however, C'tis later considered, maybe he should have considered the possibility of a still burning cloth-wrapped pebble landing on the judge's table.
Oh well, nobody had got burned.
