Tengu just kept looking at her, taking the sight of her in, the gentle markings on her nose, getting lost in the lovely shade of her eyes. She was beautiful to be sure, but that wasn't all...
His feelings for her hadn't waned at all in their time apart, only grown. He had to tell her but words would surely fail him. Instead he pressed his nose to hers, kissed her softly, letting his eyes fall closed. As if that could convey everything.

The soft touch of his kiss melted her insides completely, if he didnt already consume her every thought, he did so even more now.
She poured all her feelings, emotions and things she'd never be able to say to him into the return kiss.
She loved him, had loved him for so long, the friendship he had offered her when she had been young, had only grown and blossomed into something deeper, richer, and something she knew she couldnt live without. He was someone she couldnt live without, her parents wouldnt understand, specially her father, but right now, with Tengu, it didnt matter.
As long as Siren had the one she loved, she felt she could conquer the world.

The kiss lingered, time meant nothing. Perhaps it meant everything. Apart, the distance between them had been too much to bear. To have her in his arms, returning the affection he'd bottled up for so long. His mind was awash with the sensation of her, filling all of his senses.
When the kiss was parted his tongue was still, his mouth worked once, trying to form words, to speak, instead he kissed her again. Brief. "Siren."
Heart too heavy. He knew what he should say, but the words wouldn't come. Everything was too much. 'I love you' caught in his throat. The only thing he could manage was her name. Like a song, her namesake, he wanted to. Needed to. Though dread that he would lose her. Everything could go so wrong.

The dangers of her watery world made her bold, she knew that it was a constant blessing to see the next sunrise, so many creatures in the deep enjoyed her kind.
This knowledge made her bold, reckless, daring, she took life by storm and this was even more important to her, he was even more important to her than her next breath.
Without Tengu, her life had little meaning, the sun even felt different when she was with him, the breeze smelt fresher, the water more tranquil. Tengu was the beat of her head, she gazed at him like others would a god.
Her name on his lips only made her shiver with need.
"I love you." She said, unable to contain the emotion and feelings within her, she knew it was a major risk, this could change everything between them, and she would deal with that if it came to it, but she couldnt cage this any longer.
"I've loved you for so long Tengu.."

Tengu's arms tightened around Siren when she spoke the words, they'd been on the tip of his tongue, daring to stay, mar it, like a burn. Invisible but unable to ignore. A quiet gasp escaped him, a shuddered breath. His throat tightened and he squeezed his eyes closed, like he held her. The way she looked at him...
"Ah, I... the same. Siren. When I realized it... staying away was the hardest thing I've ever done." The words spilled from his lips slow and then all at once, in a rush as if they'd freeze up again if he stopped talking.
"I love you, Siren. More than words, more than every story told. More than air that fills our lungs, deep as the sea. You are everything. Absolutely everything, to me. I would rather live a thousand years and never speak another word than be without you another moment. I, without my words would be kinder... than any truth that hurts you. A word from you and I'd be silent forever, or say anything you want to hear. Oh, Siren," her name a prayer from his lips, begging absolution.
"Always. I am yours, my heart, my throat, both yours for the taking... tear either out if you so desire it. Every word I've spoken be a lie... save for love."

She froze for a moment, was he saying what she thought he was saying?!
He loved her. HER! She felt as if her heart was going to explode at any moment, or that she would awake and find herself dreaming an impossible dream.
She clung to him all the tighter, nuzzling his throat as she trilled happily. "Every word I've spoken be a lie... save for love." echoed behind her joy, she tried to tune it out of her thoughts, but it only grew louder, muting her happiness.
She pulled back from him now, it hurt, the pain of it ripped through her core as she stared at him. "Tenngu..." Her voice whispered out, she didnt know what to say, she loved him, by the gods of the seas she loved him, and even this, didnt change that.
They could over come this, he would be the balm that healed her heart now. She placed a paw on his cheek, her hazy purple gaze stared into his. "Tengu, not lies..but beautiful stories. No matter what, you will always be my sky prince." She stroked his cheek, her eyes glittering with unshed tears. "But promise, never to lie to me..Please Tengu." Her last words a final plea.

Tengu held his breath. Her happiness made his heart ache, in a moment she'd realize. His love was anything but stupid. He licked her ears as she nuzzled him, he felt as if time slowed. Then she pulled away.
The pain in her eyes broke his heart, he had done that to her. 'I'm sorry,' he spoke the words but his voice had no volume. He tried again, forcing the words past the lump in his throat. "I'm sorry, Siren."
He paw on his cheek kept him from saying more for a moment, this time he couldn't look away from her eyes. She understood, but that didn't lessen her hurt at all.
"I swear that I will never. Ever again, Siren. No 'if I do', I will not. I promise."

She leaned forward, touching her nose lightly to his as she leaned her forehead against his, taking a breath, taking in his scent. She would never get enough of him, of every piece of him.
She closed her eyes and nodded her head, thats all she needed. She knew deep down, that he would have never purposely hurt her, no that simply wasnt her Tengu.
She didnt need to say another word, she simply needed him, flaws and everything, only deepened her love, her sky prince was as flawed as she, and yet, he was still perfect to her.

The touch silenced him again, he bit his tongue to keep from saying more, no need to pretty up his words now, lest he say something untrue.
The urge was harder to curb without that touch of pain. He wanted to say he hadn't meant to take it so far. That it wasn't his fault, he was cursed... Even the thought of explaining his mother's way of speaking, using that as an excuse, something to shove the blame away wasn't something he could bring himself to do. So he let the moment pass with his tongue between his teeth until a thought struck him. Not everything but love.
"Can I still call you my princess?"

She laughed softly now, as she drew her face back from his, to smile at him.
"Of course, as you will always be my Sky Prince.." She kissed his nose.
None of it mattered except this, this is what mattered to her most. His lies hadnt been cruel, or had he meant to hurt her, and she knew that he wouldnt hurt her, never if he could do anything else. And she could never deny herself the love she felt for him, and knowing now, her feelings were returned, was all she needed.
All she needed was Tengu and his love, the rest was just in-between fluff.

Tengu chanced a smile in return to hers, careful because he felt as if everything could break apart, but that was his own insecurity. Siren was steady, her kiss gentle.
Keeping his arms around her, Tengu drew her close again, held her tightly. In his mind and in his throat the lies stayed near but held in check. He would tell her his stories of magic and whimsy again, if she wished to hear them, though always he would first ask, "May I tell you a tale?"
