"I- ah... what?" Indri spluttered in confusion and blinked widely. Their head tilted to one side, a perfect picture of uncertainty. Water forgotten, they tried to review what Xaijin had just said. "You want me to come back? Here again?" That had been what it sounded like. They didn't know how to interpret it any other way, and knew that they didn't hear things out of nowhere.
"You mean for more training?" Questions trotted unbidden out of Indri's mouth. They knew they were just looking foolish, but didn't have the power to stop themself. Just what was going on here? They half expected to see Xaijin get angry, but again, she didn't. In fact... she was laughing?
