The Jounin could only blink in response to the whole . . . "cougar-flirting" comment. "Ew," he replied, waving his hands to show his distaste for the thought. "I swear if she's over thirty years old, I'm done," he chuckled. Taka hadn't been approached by many people in the . . . flirting sense, and that was a good thing. That s**t scared him - especially when older people were involved. They had too much experience. It was intimidating. He very happily changed the subject when Yuudai continued on.
"This Granny Jichao should have her name changed to Granny Kung-Pow. She sounds like a straight thug," he nodded to himself. It was a bit violent to beat people with a cane for offering help, but he appreciated that she could take care of herself at least. Made sense considering how old she was - she must have been a child of survivors of the cataclysm. People who'd lived for that long tended to be fierce in the shinobi world.
He laughed silently, thinking about the story; visualizing it in his head. He imagined Great-Granny Meiko was probably like that, in life. "Old people are scary," he stated. "They always seem to be prepared - not a doubt in their minds, no need for second opinions. I can hardly buy groceries without consulting my friends," he rubbed the back of his head. The man then stood, properly, and looked beyond the tree-line to the run-down houses of the town. "Anyway, we've been talking a lot about silly things, but I'm glad to have met someone in Kumo that I can have a fun conversation with. I think I've been too tense with everyone else," he admitted.
"Maybe you could show me around some places," he said almost shyly, "Since I'm terrible at getting around. Even this island. I think it'd be fun to explore."

He smiled slightly, noting that Yuudai would have to be the one paying for things. "I'm always poor," he said with a laugh. "As an Anokai tree-hugger, living out in a shack in the woods, you'd be surprised how little money matters. I don't even know where I put any of my paychecks - they're probably being burned by little kids with magnifying glasses as we speak." That had happened once before, and thus the reference. Takahara was studious and diligent, but also often careless with things that mattered to other people quite a bit. He acknowledged the fact - and would try to get some replacement checks sometime soon, so he didn't have to get treated by a younger guy who probably didn't have all that much money in the first place.
"Let's see if people live in the village." Takahara began to walk towards the houses he could see in the distance, with the shaggy rooftops and the ivy and moss growing on their walls. From the look of the town he didn't expect for anyone to be there, but it was a possibility nonetheless. As he walked across the turtle's back and towards the homes, he noticed a pail of water and some decorations spread across the area outside of the small enclosure.
Then, in the corner of his vision, he saw a young girl - and behind her, a man in a formal outfit kneeling down to speak to her. He began to notice a few more people. They were young men performing maintenance on the houses, scraping off moss and trying to fix the roofing and walls. Takahara didn't know who these people were, but he was a bit worried they'd yell at him for invading their private property. "Hm..." He poked at his chin, then began to look around some more to decide just what this village was being used for. Above the gated entrance to the small village was a name: Anunaki. He'd never heard of it.
"So," he started, "do you think we should just leave, or see if the people here would be willing to host us? I'm getting real hungry. Gonna at least need to catch some game if I'm gonna be sticking around."

He nodded. Nice and generous. Hopefully, and hopefully they wouldn't ask too many questions about how two shinobi ended up on their magical turtle island. "Alright, I'm gonna approach," he announced, standing tall and introducing himself from behind the bars of their tall fence gate. Hello! he called out to them, and caught the attention of all the young men working on refurbishing the property. To his dismay, one of them immediately responded, but . . .
"Ey! The ******** you doin' here, chump? This be the property of Two-Tone Malone, ya hear?!" He blinked. It was a dialect he'd never heard before. And "Two-Tone Malone" didn't sound like any name where he came from. The shinobi cleared his throat and politely responded. "Well, um, I am Takahara Senju. I am a shinobi, wondering if-"
"Oh, s**t! It's the feds!" they yelled. One of them turned to face Takahara and - being held by both hands - was a strange object that was held by a grip with a long barrel. Out of it launched a multitude of senbon aimed directly for his chest. With large roots rising from the ground to defend him and bat away the projectiles, the Jounin immediately got into fighting position and looked to his traveling companion (of sorts). "The ******** is going on?" he asked him. "Is this a Kumogakure thing?"

Watching Yuudai quickly and literally disarm the situation was impressive - with an added kick to pacify the strange senbon-shooting man. The shinobi nodded quietly. He was a Jounin who had endured warfare at its worst - he wasn't really phased by something so trivial. But it was concerning to see that people were still so casually willing to make attempts at other's lives in parts of the countryside. Takahara stepped forward, weaving his hands into seals as roots came up from the ground and grasped the 'gangsters' at hand, keeping them locked in place and preventing them from doing harm to he or Yuudai.
"Who's Two-Tone Fabrone?" he asked. "Ey b***h, it's Two-Tone Malone," replied the thug. "He's the greatest Mafster in the Kumo countryside, ya hear? He's been seekin' after this island for a damn quarter century, tryin' to set up shop with all ya damn feds gettin' through his progress. No more, I say. Two-Tone Malone is tired of gettin' two-tone boned, ya hear?"
Takahara still couldn't understand the dialect, but he nodded quietly as the man went on and seemed almost sympathetic. "What's a Mafster?" Of course, he didn't understand this urban lingo, so he needed to clarify. The man laughed at him. "A Mafster's a ********' sorority group, obviously," he said with an eyeroll. Takahara sighed. "Okay. Well, anyway, I have no authority here since I don't even live here. Maybe we can just call it even for attacking me with some food for my friend and I?" He looked to Yuudai and then back to them.
"Aye, I ain't gonna give you ********' nothin', b***h boy. Go back to ya city and ya laws and ******** off."
He shrugged. "We could instead . . . y'know . . . throw you all overboard." He immediately felt bad for saying that after remembering there was a little girl among them - and probably more children - but he hoped the threat would pass. It did.
"Fine, ya punk." Takahara removed the root bindings and allowed the man free, along with his comrades. Thereafter, they were led into a dining hall of sorts, with the Jounin requesting Yuudai sit across from him on their small dinner table in the corner of the room. "Okay, that's better," he smiled faintly. "Hey, I hope you don't mind me stepping in on your relaxation and all this crazy stuff happening. It's been fun though. You're a pretty swell guy."
