She didn't hide it up, just people don't take her seriously enough due to her height and young appearance. She already told them Z is similar to a Kendama, but they seldom pay attention. Thus, it served well as a surprise, to lengthen the reaction time and gave her an advantage. "That's nothing. You might have to fight stronger enemies like the horsemen and hostile students, they wanted more than to just make you hurt." She swayed the hammer and pulled her arm to her back. "It would be good if you get that earlier, from friendly comrades rather than enemies, right?" She beamed with energy flaming in the honey colored eyes. With the last words escaped her lips, the hammer swung again. Had she been holding back? Nope, her expression told one that she was serious and gave her best for it. Yet, this time, it hurt more than the previous blows. She had been saving her energy for the best timing. As a Death hunter, how much information on one's hand could determine succeed or failure of one thing, that what she learned. Therefore, at first few back-and-forth, she had been collecting information about Clyde's fighting style and his guns. Feeling the energy stake with her body, she realized besides the problem of abundance, they don't hurt much individually. Her brain spun quickly as she dodged another round of stakes fired at her while Z impatiently urged the petite Asian to use the charge. HP: 27/ 50 DMG: 11 Charge: 3/3

The others would be harder huh? He grinned blood pumping in his ears. This was fun. Perhaps in the future it would be scary but right now, it was fun. Hadn't he signed up for dangerous? Wasn't that half the point? The shadows leering in the dark, now he could fully do something about them. Clyde was never one to stand idly by. But she wound up that hammer an caught him still stuck in his grounded position. It hurt. It hurt a lot. but now, he fired point blank into her. From here it was a lot harder to miss. "I'll take your lesson to heart." Sometimes the best defense was a good offence. Still while he was firing he tried to make it to his feet. Vanessa was hissing, he could practically feel her coiled on his shoulders as she spat out spikes from the guns, a massive beast ready to go. HP: 12/40 Damage: 8 Charge: 3/3

The beast howled, snapped at Clyde's fear shield. < Silly, use the charge, what're you thinking?> It's just a spar, Z. < You said you won't hold back, are you lying to him?> The beast induced, he was a loyal believer of the theory "an eye for an eye". If they hurt his hunter, he would hurt her hunter back. When Shu couldn't see the serpent coiled around Clyde, the hunter couldn't see the beast using his giant body to guard Shu while snarling, that was what Shu felt. She'd wanted to snug against his fluffy furs. < Show them our ability.> Because of the dialogue, Shu missed the coming energy stakes and her skin felt burning with the various scratches. Some even cut through the delicate skin and made her bleed. She groaned with the pain. It distracted her from using the fear accumulated. < Don't look at it! ******** it!> The bloods, the red seen in her eyes made her respiration quickened and her mind blanked. The mixture of sensation also delivered to Z as a SOS. It wasn't that seriously but everything seemed to go against her will, the bloody nightmare didn't only visit at night but appeared in her short naps as well. She was soaked in bloods and they lost their breathe. "It's so cold here....." she mumbled, "so cold....." HP: 19/ 50 DMG: Miss Charge: 3/3

Clyde felt something was off, but Shu left an opening. a small one. He heard her talking but wasn't sure what, instead he took the opening and shot her again. His guns were vibrating, or was that his pulse. He was too excited to realize he might have accidentally hurt her too much. Vanessa was urging him to go for the kill. To strike now while she was still, but a couple of his shots flung wide. HP: 12/40 Damage: 2 Charge: 3/3

The pain had helped to draw Shu's attention back, she still felt cold and wanted to cuddle with a warm body but at least it didn't hinder her much besides the chaotic breathe. She squished the shaft of the hammer and then swung it to make it swirl before she knocked the sphere away with the hammer. < I'm suppressing your fear. Brace yourself.> The beast though over-protective, wasn't a babysitter, he was strict to his hunter. She was shaking mildly because of the psychological trauma, yet, she had been restraining herself. The white chuckles holding the hammer would suggest how much efforts she spent to do so, she wished not screwing the spar up. < You'll be fine.> I'll be fine, she told herself. HP: 17/ 50 DMG: 8 Charge: 1/3

The next hit came hard. It knocked the breath right out of him. But he didn't seem to mind. It hurt yeah it hurt but he still stuck a bullet into her thigh. Though he saw the white knocked he couldn't tell whither she intended to hurt him more or not because of it. HP: 4/40 Damage: 3 Charge: 3/3

She'd delivered another big blow and broken his shield if not she knelt with the sneaky shot at her thigh. Shu was exhausted from controlling her emotions that she couldn't spare to suppress her reaction to the pain, she groaned but managed to knock onto his shield. < He's almost there.> The beast smirked. The blow didn't hit hard but that was because he was busy trying to get away from it. His shots back flung wild as he tripped over his own feet. "I'm ok." he declared not realizing Vanessa was trying to warn him that they were at the end of the shield almost. HP: 3/40 Damage: 0 Charge: 0/3

"Are we doing it until the shield of one of us break?" Shu asked, mostly recollected herself from the trauma. She promised not holding back, but they didn't come into an agreement when they would stop. She gave some times to Clyde to rest, before she landed another hit on him. "Is your coat trail too long or -" She glanced at his shoe laces unraveled, musing if it was the reason he tripped over. "We go until it breaks!" Clyde didn't realize how close he was to having a broken shield. Vanessa hissed again warning him. But Clyde was too busy having fun, Though he was distracted by his shoes. One of the laces came undone and was now actively getting underfoot. "My coat is fine." he kicked that foot around trying to just get the shoelace on top of his shoe for now. It wasn't working. It was a good thing this wasn't a full battle because this could have been a problem. Not that it wasn't one now. HP: 1/40 Damage: 0 Charge: 0/3

< Let him learn by pain> Z's word meant Clyde needed to be more watchful of the status of their shield, he was sure Van-whatever had warned the trainee already but he was oblivious. Thus it would be best to learn with his body, let the pain tell him what he needed to be careful of. Shu frowned at Clyde's word to continue the spar and how he meddled with his shoes, she sighed. "Ok, you'd better get ready for this blow." She warned in advance, hoped it would lessen the damage to the trainee. Breakage of the shield always hurt a lot, she wished he had prepared for it. The hammer almost sent Clyde flying, it can be told that the petite huntress had used most of her energy to swing her hammer. "Oh dear, are you okay Clyde?" She yelled, de-summoned her hammer to check on the hunter on the floor. "Answer me Clyde? Don't scare me." Shu got flustered seeing the condition of him. < Probably knocked out only.> The beast seemed aloof and not concerning. HP: 14/ 50 DMG: 10 Charge: 3/3 phantompanther13 He's unconscious lol I told you she didn't like her butt targeted!!

It was a good thing they were in the training area. Clyde was not prepared for the blow to hurt that much. Perhaps he thought the shield made him invisible. But as he took it head on he just dropped and rolled. He certainly blacked out and came to with a very flustered Shu shaking him. He tried to tell her not to shake him but his first words cam out slurred and a bit confused. Vanessa simply huffed with a small told you so. He closed his eyes again and tried to put together thoughts. He was feeling a little nauseous and just wanted the world to stop spinning. But when he opened his eyes he put on a pained grin. "You win."

Shu really wanted to punch him right on his face, instead she fell onto him and just relieved for a short time before yelling at the trainee. "Grinning....you're still grinning. Who cares about the result! Do you feel anywhere hurt?" The temporary anger subsided and her shoulder slumped. "You're idiot, Clyde. Do you know why we're stronger than normal people? It's the bond with your partner and the fear shield." She glared sadly at him. "If your shield is almost broken, you should stop me! Once the shield breaks, you would feel greater pain than usual and hunter attack is nothing kidding." The brows deeply knitted together like valleys and ridges. "Don't scare me, I don't want to hurt my friend again." Her shaky voice suggested her eyes threatened to drop tears as she weakly fisted against his chest. "No next time, Clyde, promise me." warned the petite huntress. Taking a deep breathe in and out, she felt the nerves tensed up eased and energy drained from her body. "Do you need to go to infirmary?" She waved her hand in front of his eyes. phantompanther13 No worries, I forgot to tag yesterday.

"My ribs hurt a little." ok a lot. One of them was probably cracked. He would survive though. He did not tell her that every breath was a wave of pain. He had worst, he would recover. His hand did however moved to the side he was hit on and hold it down. "It's ok Shu. I pushed the limits and now I know where they are. Better now than during an attack right?" He sat up carefully and reached his other arm around her, pulling her into him and ignoring the hand waving. "No no infirmary. I'm good. Just some good bruising. You taught me a very valuable lesson. Tiny hunters with Hammers hit hard." he chuckled, and then winced regretting it. Vanessa rolled over in his mind.
He grinned more ignoring the pain.

The petite huntress put hands on her hips and her cheeks puffed up. "Don't you think you can lie to me. I had my stomach jabbed, flung against a wall and broke some ribs and so on. I knew how it hurts when shield's broken." She poked Clyde's nose. "It's good to know where your limits are, then you'll learn when to stay back and not become a burden. In mission, we normally work as a group and you won't want your teammates hurt because of you." After throwing some serious words at the trainee, she sighed and returned to her normal cheerful tone. "I agree with you, better fail now than later -" Then, she was pulled down. Her eyes widened in startled state, "You know what," she paused, "I'm dragging you to infirmary anyway, who knows when we might be called for urgent mission or any outbreak. The virus outbreak - I was sleeping when it happened." She nodded at the decision she made, "I'm glad to help you. When you train more, you will be strong too. You treated me nicely last time, this time it's my turn. Can you stand up?" < I would just put him here and let this stubborn dense dork go on with his life until he feels how severe the pain can get.> Not a big deal? The beast felt he was underestimated somehow. He's my friend, Z. < Not a friend worth it.> That's rude! < Whatever.>
