It wasn't until they were well out of the dead zone and Scholomance was calling to her that Orah finally slowed her ground-eating power walk to something a little more normal and lady-like. Eyes on the ground, she struggled to master the tears that threatened and calm her ragged breathing.

It was fine... she was fine. The vine had been painful, but she could already tell she wasn't really all that hurt. A couple of spots of blood that ceased to bleed fairly quickly and, once the thorns were out, the pain faded quickly as well. Nothing broken, just maybe bruised a little, and that would fade in a day or two with her accelerated healing. There was no reason to be a baby over it... beyond the illusion of safety she'd held about this place being abruptly and completely shattered.

The one place in the universe she thought she was completely and utterly safe... and she'd been attacked by it, or something in it.

This was going to take some careful processing and realignment of her view of things. No place was truly safe any more, but that just meant she'd have to be more careful, that's all. And try not to grieve the loss too much.

"I'm sorry you got hit with whatever that was." Orah said softly when he was walking beside her, electing not to let his bitching upset her. She had plenty of things to be upset about right now. "I don't know what that stuff was either. I don't remember it, or anything like it."

Her steps slowed more as she drew herself out of her sad thoughts, smoothing a brave expression onto her face.

"I have a first aid kit in my bag here." She said as she patted it with her elbow. "There is also one stored at the Tower, where I normally land, along with some food and water. We can head back though, actually. I... guess you've probably had enough of this place by now. Its not... normally like this. Normally its beautiful and peaceful. Its not supposed to be like that."

Dropping her arm at last, Orah dug her pen out of her pocket and lifted it, speaking her henshin phrase and letting the light transform her into her stronger self. The senshi girl offered her hand to her guest as she called her phone into the other.

You're sorry. Well, doesn't that just make everything better. What a stupid little convention. 'Sorry', like it ever takes anything back.

My ex-fiancée said 'sorry' the day that she dumped me. Like it would somehow erase the bad feelings. Like it would absolve her.

Scholomance looked ahead bitterly while he poked and prodded at the numb side of his face. He wondered if it drooped at all, if he looked like a stroke victim, or if muscle posture kept throughout the numbing agent. He thought about the glass that he lost to helping Orah, and how he would forever have an odd number of glasses sitting on his shelf. He asked himself if he could find just one more of those glasses somewhere so he'd still have a matching set. And he wondered how long this fact might bother him. Anything proved a more interesting focus.

Anything other than Sidney James.

"If it's not supposed to be this way, then I suppose you could say it's sick. It's like the man saying 'my cat doesn't normally s**t on the rug, he's not usually like this' when really the cat's just shitting on the rug because its kidneys are shutting down and it can't control its body anymore. Maybe your planet's sick and you get to play geo-doctor." The comparison was just another shot in the dark since he held no knowledge about magic or how it wrought everything he knew into abnormal and unidentifiable circumstances, like living planets and sentient plants. But Orah went on to become Ida, and Scholomance was uncertain if she even heard him over the pompous display.

"Alright, we'll head back then. Before I bite through my cheek by talking." His mood sufficiently ruined by reminders of his past, Scholomance was ready to escape the planet and resume drinking himself into a blackout stupor. Hopefully Orah wouldn't invite herself along - assuming they even landed in the same area.

The lines around her mouth pinched at his language, but she didn't rise to it. Not like she hadn't heard worse, even if she disliked that sort of thing. Whatever.

Neither of them were in a terribly good mood, it seemed, and she was not in any state of mind to hang around at this pawn shop. She'd leave him a name and a number, the contact I for of some people she knew of as Knights that could give him more information than she could. Camelot would be one for sure, and Shangri-la... Maybe Aventine, even if she hadn't heard from her friend in a year. Hver for sure.

She had to hope they would be good enough for this skeptic. She'd used up what little she had today and come up short. Better for someone else to give it a shot.

Reaching, she took his hand lightly and took them back to earth, leaving Ida to its hush and the new sinister feeling the dead zone had brought with it.
