Aludra knew well the price that could be paid for facing the darkness. She had seen the bite of the spear, witnessed hope crumble and die. But if they did not stand in defiance, then everything would be lost. "If she comes, I will be strong, I promise," she said. Even if her power wasn’t throwing fireballs or bringing down a meteor, even if all she could do was let a path unwind, then so be it. Even if it made the slightest difference, she would be there to fight. "Swap," she chirped, waving her drink at Teide in offering. Because it made sense to share, to know exactly what the other person was tasting. "I’m glad you are here too. I’m so glad that you’re free. But even if you were still Astrophyllite, I would still be your friend. I would still drink bubble tea with you. I know two of you and I care for them both." Aludra wasn’t sure if the words were coming out right, but what she was trying to saw was that no matter who her friend was, whatever name or allegiance, they would remain friends.

Teide blinked at the drink, as if unfamiliar with the concept. Then, she decided that if this was what friends did, and she and Aludra were friends, then this was what she was going to do. "Okay," she said brightly, making the swap. She gave Aludra's drink an experimental sip, being very careful of the straw. She didn't want to accidentally mangle it in case they swapped back and have Aludra think she was gross. "That's really good," she said, walking slower as she contentrated on hunting a piece of boba with the straw. She finally got it, and took her time chewing, as she was deep in thought. "I'm not so sure that would have been a good idea," she said finally. "Astrophyllite... she might have seemed nice, but she was going bad. There was a little bit more chaos every day. More bad thoughts. More cruelty. You could have tried to be her friend, but she was going to be a general soon. She would have been mean. Dark. She would have probably sold you out." Corrupting a senshi was a sure way to win the favor of your superiors, after all. Teide didn't want to think that she even had it in her to do that - but she knew that she did. She would have. Chaos was persuasive like that.

Aludra didn’t have any such worries when it came to straw etiquette, sucking up a big and merry gulp of Teide’s drink, the bobas hurtling into her mouth as if shot from a rocket. "Mhm," she agreed around a mouthful of squishy tapioca. "Probably not," she ventured finally, after a thoughtful silence following Teide’s words. "But standing by you worked out in the end. I would have to keep believing. I won’t give up on my friends, even if it puts me in danger." Even if darkness was corrupting every inch of their soul. Even if she knew what it was to lose yourself. "Here you go," she licked the straw clean and offered the bubble tea back to its original owner.

"You are so good," said Teide, exchanging cups again. She didn't even want to think about what kind of awful alternate universes existed where she dragged Aludra into darkness, instead of the other senshi helping her into the light - but she was nearly certain they existed. Teide believed in a lot of things that were supposedly impossible. "I'm glad it worked out," she said, fiddling with her straw. She still remembered those dark, dark moments before her purification. When that girl had been so furious with her and Astrophyllite - Astrophyllite had asked to be killed, by a civilian no less! If the Negaverse had found her instead of Camlann... Oh, there would have been hell to pay. And what if that girl had really killed her! She would have never been a knight, never been Hvergelmir's sister in arms, never been such good friends with Aludra! "I was really scared," she sighed. "For a really long time. But I don't have to be anymore."

“Nah, I’m just doing my best,” Aludra countered with a lopsided grin. There was no other option but to smile. There was so many possibilities, so many nightmares that could come true, if you didn’t keep your eyes focused on the path that led out of the wood, you’d never make it. “Mhm,” the younger girl agreed, she drained her drink and filled her mouth with the last few bobas. With a flapping of hands and a full-mouthed smile, she left her friend for a moment in order to dump the container in a bin. Aludra was back within seconds, mouth still full, and attached herself, adoringly, to Teide’s free arm. She squeezed, as if willing any further thought of dark pasts away. “Mrfank ooo.” Thank you for being here, for being my friend, I will always stand beside you. She didn’t quite get to say it but the feeling was there, even with her mouth stuffed with tapioca. Silverah AAAH sorry for the long wait. Q__Q i think we can wrap this up soon! and then i'll harass you for more rp!

Teide had been keeping pace with Aludra, and finished her drink at about the same time. She kept her cup so that she could stab at the bobas still trapped below the ice. "It's no trouble," she said, leaning into the hug - she wasn't sure what she was being thanked for. Maybe she should be the one thanking Aludra? Yes. She should definitely be doing that! "Thank you is more appropriate, I think. You helped get me out, and that's really important." She would have to find a way to repay her someday. "Can I walk you home?" suggested Teide.

Thank you for coming back from the darkness, she might have added once she’d swallowed. But it didn’t need to be said now and she was too pleased, knowing that no matter what else, she had this triumph to remind her that good could win. With flushed cheeks, Aludra didn’t let go of Teide’s arm, intent of staying that way until they had to part. “Yes, please,” she chirruped without hesitation
