KO considered his options. Frankly he wasn't going to look great regardless of what he was wearing but the idea of going out as he was was distinctly unpalatable, but on the other hand he didn't want to hang around here in this eerily quiet white place. Was there anyone else alive here? "Could I just get a bathrobe or something?" he asked, it seemed like a fair compromise between speed and not looking like a complete idiot. He could pull off a bathrobe so long as it wasn't pink or green.
...Wait, his things were already on the boat? So it was a trip that was scheduled just to take him back to Kodo? "Do you Kalos Rockets always provide personal transportation, or am I a special case?" he asked after a moment, turning to a bit of humour again to quiet his unease. He wanted to go home.

"Ah, sure," Jim replied easily, though his tone suggested he felt bad he hadn't thought to suggest that himself. He was about to excuse himself to fetch a bathrobe when KO's next question gave him pause. "Well since you showed such progress the past couple of days, we were planning to transport you back to headquarters today or tomorrow anyway, since it seemed like we wouldn't have to worry about your condition worsening like we have been for the past month, which is why your things are on the boat already. Team Rocket always transports their patients back to their main base when they're well enough to survive the trip with minimal risk. Why?" He asked, brows raising and looking somewhat confused at his questioning general procedures. "Did you expect us to say 'okay, glad you're not in a coma anymore, have fun walking back to Kodo'?"

Well that was reassuringly normal. KO gave a brief laugh and shook his head. "Well no but I thought I might have to wait until something was going that way anyway. It's not like I'm an Agent, I could do grunt work here as easily as I could in Kodo." Reassuringly normal reaction aside however.... "But I'm certainly glad of it, my roommate has probably covered my side of things in plants by now." And also this place was still creepy. If he'd had to stay here for a significant period of time he would have had to take the batteries out of that damn clock or it would have driven him insane.

Jim's friendly smile returned when KO seemed appeased by his explanation, and he waved away the assumption. "Oh, nah. Honestly if that were the case, you'd be waiting quite a while," he said with a chuckle. "We're pretty self-sufficient, so we don't send or receive transports from the main headquarters but once in a blue moon, or when something like finding Xerneas crops up," Jim explained, "where we don't have the manpower to get it ourselves." And then he blinked, then laughed. "Covered your side of the room in plants? Seriously? Guess he must really like plants," the brunet chuckled. He then straightened up and took a step towards the door. "Alright, let me go get that bathrobe for you." So saying, he departed again and once more left KO alone. His brief departure lasted roughly the same amount of time as when he went to procure a wheelchair, and the outer hallway remained quiet as before, with only the occasional sound of echoing footsteps as people passed by, before the door shut behind Jim and left their room silent apart from their voices and the ticking of the clock again. "Okay, here you go," he said cheerfully as he offered the grunt a - surprise surprise - white bathrobe. At the very least it looked to be of a suitable size and like it wouldn't be terribly uncomfortable. "One bathrobe! Do you need any help with it, or would you rather I step outside while you put it on?"

Hum, well that seemed fair enough and frankly he didn't like the idea of waiting an eternity here because a) creepy, and b) he probably wouldn't get to work on an interesting project like the one he'd been assisting Tam with while he was here.
"Ah, thanks," KO nodded as Jim returned with the mercifully neutral bathrobe. "I'll be fine, if you just give me a minute?"
Once Jim was gone KO got carefully to his feet, shrugged into the robe, fastened it and sat down again. Feeling rather more decent he wheeled over to the door Jim had vanished through and knocked on it before manoeuvring himself out of the way of it.

"No problem, and sure!" With those words, Jim left the room to give KO some privacy.
Upon hearing the knock, Jim opened the door just a crack to better gauge where KO was so he wouldn't hit him, then once assured he wouldn't cause any undue injury, he opened the door more fully. "Feeling better now?" He asked with an amicable smile. "I can sympathize with you on not wanting to be wheeled around in a hospital gown, they're not the most flattering garments," Jim said ruefully as he propped the door open and maneuvered himself around behind the wheelchair in order to push it. Since KO seemed more than ready to go, the doctor wheeled the chair out of the white room and into the white hallway. "Medical isn't too far from the transportation hub, just like headquarters," he explained, "so it won't take too long to get there. How are you feeling now though, after getting up and moving around? Still feeling alright?"

"I bet I could do something about that. I mean, it would be pretty much impossible to make them worse," KO replied, wondering how he'd do so even as he spoke. Nicer material for a start.
"Good design," he continued with a nod when Jim referenced their location, "getting from a mission into medical fast can be pretty important, as I probably demonstrated. I actually feel a little better now, my head's certainly clearer." And he still didn't like it here. Where was everyone? Ugh.

Another laugh bubbled up as KO spoke. "Yeah, they're pretty terrible. I don't know if anyone could make them worse."
"Precisely," Jim said with feeling. "You demonstrated it perfectly, though I doubt you had any intention of doing that." As he talked, he continued to wheel KO down the mostly empty hallway. Occasionally they'd pass others, either in uniform or in white coats similar to Jim's, but other than the sound of echoing footsteps and the sounds of quiet conversation, the hallway remained silent. Upon reaching the end of the hallway, Jim held his rocketdex to a panel on the wall, which offered a chipper beep! before elevator doors smoothly slid open to admit them. "That's good," he said earnestly as he pushed KO in his wheelchair into the typical-looking elevator. "It's good you're still feeling well, but you should definitely take it easy while you recover your strength."

"Oh I plan to," KO replied, glancing up at Jim with a crooked smile. "One near death experience per year is plenty for me, I'm not going to go doing anything foolish or anything that involves too much exertion until I have clearance from the medics back at HQ." He'd been awake for at least ten minutes without making a double entendre, but to be fair to himself he had just been in a coma.... For a month. And he'd just woken up? And he was for most intents and purposes fine? Fine enough that he was already leaving the infirmary to get on a boat and go home?.... Hu.

"There you go," he replied with a chuckle, "though I expect they won't be terribly generous with how much time-off you get. They never are," he said somewhat ruefully. The elevator descended briefly before a soft ding signaled their arrival at the appropriate floor and the doors slid open again to let them out. The transport bay before them wasn't anything like that of Kodo's main base; it was entirely nautical in nature, roughly half the size, and smelled of seawater. Lifevests, preservers, spare row boats and a large assortment of various boat supplies sat in neat organized sections throughout one half of the white, windowless room. More Rockets milled about here, almost all of them in various ranked uniforms, carrying boxes of supplies or checking lists or fixing things up, or just in general going about their work and paying no mind to the newcomers. "Here we are," Jim said cheerfully as he wheeled KO out of the elevator, past the other Rockets and supplies, and towards the other half of the room. Said half had a sturdy railing separating them from what appeared to be a drop off into the ocean, given the sound of gentle waves and the smell of seawater, but beyond it sat a large nondescript boat, designed to hold large amounts of supplies or people but not so large as to attract undue attention. A gate separated them from the bridge leading to the boat's deck, and it was there that Jim stopped just long enough to open the gate, then pushed the wheelchair across. "If nothing else, you'll have plenty of time to rest on the way there. It'll take longer by boat than by jet, I'm afraid, but you'll have a room with a bed - more comfortable than the clinic ones, too - to relax in during the trip."

Ahh, so the Kalos base was on the coast then. It had to have been that or a major river given he was going by boat but it was good to know for sure, at least they were already on the ocean rather than having to make their way there and change vessel. "Well I wouldn't want to get bored, so long as I'm back on my feet I'll be happy," KO replied. A comfortable bed on the ship sounded good though, he was a little tired but mainly he felt like there were a lot of things he should be thinking about.
One of those things was the fact that, grievous injuries aside, he had successfully completed a major mission. Was there any way to get a report on how well superiors felt you'd performed? Not that Rook and Claire had been down in the depths with them but Tam and two other Agents had been. He thought he'd performed well even if his attempts to throw the Champion off had failed. Would they report as much?

"Mm, that's true," Jim said thoughtfully as he wheeled KO onto the deck of the ship, avoiding the various Rockets busily preparing to depart. "I can try to find some magazines or something for you if you'd like so you have something to look at to help pass the time," he offered, "though I don't know if I'll be able to find any. Hold on," the brunet said after they passed a set of stairs and instead turned to a ramp that led down into the ship, though he wheeled KO around to face the deck instead so he wouldn't faceplant into the ramp or anything on the way down. With the ramp successfully conquered, Jim turned the wheelchair around and wheeled KO down a hallway. "Whew, there. Anyway, like I said, I can try to find you some magazines or something, but I don't know that we have any around. Maybe a puzzle book somewhere? Ah, here we are!" They had passed a number of closed doors while Jim spoke, but now he halted in front of one that looked less like the door to a supply closet and more like the door to an actual room. It was an actual room, once he opened it, and the walls were painted in neutral, muted colors instead of stark white. The room was sparsely furnished with a chair, a table with a small pitcher of water and some glasses atop it, a small dresser, and a bed, and upon the last of which sat KO's things: His uniform, all of his pokeballs, and anything else he'd brought with him on the mission.

Compared to the rest of the base the dock was pretty busy, it helped to alleviate the creepy a bit but he was still glad they'd be leaving soon. "No worries," KO said with a shake of his head, "so long as I've got my 'dex I have plenty to occupy me, there was a project I was helping an Agent with is the labs and... well either she's replaced me or she'll be needing my input when I get back!" Hopefully Tam would have waited up... well frankly he didn't know of anyone who could replace him anyway. Best he get on then!
As they entered the small cabin KO was relieved to find that a) it wasn't white and b) everything he remembered bringing seemed to be here, other than the shades he'd lent Jerome for disguise purposes. Maybe he'd kept them? Well he wasn't about to complain about that, it was probably a good thing in the end so long as Jerome remembered to keep them with him.

"Alright," Jim said with another smile when KO assured him he'd be fine without any magazines or anything, and wheeled him further into the room. He parked the wheelchair next to the bed so he could tend to his things, then he moved to the table to pour out a couple glasses of water. "Oh that sounds pretty cool," he said while he moved about, "what kind of project? Unless you can't talk about it, of course," he added hastily almost as an afterthought as he offered one glass to KO and kept one for himself. "Water? It's important to stay hydrated, especially after what you've been through. Oh, and I'm obligated to remind you that you can let some of your pokemon out, but not if they're too big or rambunctious. Something about 'don't break anything'," he quoted, using air quotes if he had a free hand to do so, if KO took his glass, as if the rule was somewhat superfluous.

Jim seemed a lot less creepy out of the creepy quiet white corridors... or at least he had. The thing with the water was a little weird. Very weird. Maybe living in such a small community turned you strange in the head, either that or he was really thirsty and just couldn't wait a few minutes to go elsewhere and get a drink.
KO took the proffered glass with a smile, he was good at smiles regardless of whether he meant them or not. "I know that much! And thanks, I will then." Maybe if he took a drink Jim would leave him alone? He took a sip of the water and got carefully up out of the chair, sitting down on the bed instead and making a bit of a face as he did so. Tap water always tasted weird away from home. "Mmh, and I guess the research is sort of hush hush at the moment but hopefully you'll enjoy the results soon enough."
