Maxwell smiled when her stomach growled, and then stood when she tried to jump out of bed. He put his hands on her shoulders. "He's fine.. I have a guard placed outside his establishment." he said. "The guard is like us.. and can protect him easily." he promised. "I took care of the police.. making them go away from him." he said. "Just relax.. my cook is making dinner." he said. He smiled at her and then sat back down. "You just need to refresh and recoup your strength." he said, knowing that she needed to keep calm and keep herself healthy. If she was supposed to be helping him then he needed her healthy.

Fiona sat back on the bed when he reassured her that Marco was okay. Good. He didn't deserve to be hurt. She still needed to find out what those guys even wanted from him, but that could wait. Relaxing on the bed, she closed her eyes and spoke quietly. "Well, if we're going to be working together I guess you should know my real name." She opened her eyes and looked at him, hoping this wasn't a huge mistake. "I'm Fiona." Him giving an introduction wasn't needed. She knew who he was, and that was why she had targeted him. There was a knock at the door, a maid letting them know dinner was going to be ready soon. Fiona looked at herself and frowned, feeling like she was in no way ready to go eat. She looked horrible. Then again, when didn't she? It wasn't like she was able to always shower.

Maxwell smiled at her and then looked at the maid and nodded. He stood and looked down at her, "The bathroom is through that door.. I just had the maid grab some clothes for you that she thought would fit.. you can go shopping tomorrow for some clothes when you're in the public eye as my assistant." he said with a nod. He brushed his shirt and then have her another nod. "Okay so I'll see you downstairs.. just go left down the hall and then down the stairs and then to the right.. that's the dining room." he said. He walked down and then sat in the dining room, reading some of his work from earlier that he hadn't finished reading, and now he was glad he hadn't finished it. He had gone to see her, and saved her.

Fiona nodded and watched him leave before getting up. In the bathroom, she took a hot shower. She did't want to take too long, not wanting to make him wait. When she was done, she left her hair down and got dressed. The clothes were a little big, but they were clean. It was a simple dark blue shirt and a black knee length skirt. It had been ages since she had worn a skirt. She headed to the dining room, finding it easily. After all, she had explored it earlier. Fiona got to the dining room and wasn't sure where to sit. This all felt so strange. A maid came forward and pulled out a chair for her, right next to Maxwell. She sat down and thanked the woman, trying to relax. The food started to come out, and she was amazed. It all looked so good!

Maxwell smiled at her and nodded slowly. "You seem like you're feeling a little better." he said with a smile. He looked down at the food as it was served. "Oh very good.. one of my favorites. Just let me know what foods you like and I can let the cook know so he makes them." he said with a smile. Then he started to eat and glance over at her. "So you are going to be my assistant." he said softly. "You need some business clothes.. so I can go shopping with you if you would like." he said softly. "I know it can be hard if you aren't used to the shops." he said lightly.

Fiona looked at the food, almost drooling. When he started to eat she did was well. It was difficult to not stuff her mouth full, and at first she didn't. "Okay. I'm not use to the shops...It's been a while since I've gotten new clothes." Before she realized it, she was eating pretty rapidly. She was so hungry! The food on her plate was soon all gone, and she frowned slightly. How could she make such a pig out of herself? That's when her stomach started to hurt. She had eaten too fast! She got up and ran out of the room, a maid noticing the look on her face. The woman led her to the bathroom, allowing her privacy as she threw up. Well, that was a mistake. Now she was still hungry and had wasted food. Fiona sat on the floor of the bathroom, not wanting to see Maxwell. She was so ashamed of herself.

Maxwell watched her run off and he stood, wiping his mouth. He told the maid to let the cook know to cook some more dinner, and also some soup in case she needed it. Then he walked to the bathroom. Knocking on the door he waited, when she called to him he opened it and peaked inside. "You okay?" he asked with a smile. "I had more food cooked.. and the cook is making you a soup in case that might settle better." he said lightly. He moved to sit next to her. "How long have you been on the streets?" he asked her, rubbing her back lightly. "And try not to eat so fast this time.. nothing is going to happen to your food.. and it's always in the kitchen." he promised. "I'm a late night snacker myself." he said.

Fiona heard the knock and took a minute to answer. When Maxwell came in she was surprised he sat next to her. "I've lived on the streets my whole life. Things were a bit better when my dad was alive, but...that was a while ago." She felt no need to explain that the man wasn't really her father. He was the only man she had ever called such a name. "I'm sorry. I...I feel so stupid. I knew that I had to take it slow, but I couldn't help myself." The maid reached in and handed her a disposable napkin, the girl thanking her. She made sure her face was clean and then looked at Maxwell. "This is going to take some getting use to. I've never had a bed of my own, I've never been around a lot of people, and I've never had things like a bathroom or kitchen." Fiona threw the napkin away and then glanced at Maxwell. She hadn't noticed it until now, but he was really attractive. Her eyes quickly darted away from him, not wanting to be caught looking. He probably viewed her as a charity case. That was all. That would make this whole thing a lot easier.

Maxwell listened to her and nodded. "A lot of people do that when they haven't had regular meals. It doesn't make you stupid.. trust me." he said simply. He listened to her and nodded. He felt sorry for her, but he also understood what she was talking about. He sighed and leaned his head back against wall and looked over at her. "I know exactly what you mean." he said. When he noticed her look he nodded. "No really." he said. He thought about his childhood and shook his head. "My real parents went to jail for drugs... I ran away the night they were arrested. I was eight." he said. "I lived on the streets, getting food out of dumpsters." he said. "One night I was going through a garbage can in a rich people's house. They tend to throw away the most food anyway. The man came out and saw me and brought me inside. They ended up adopting me." he said. "That's how I ended up here with all this.. but believe me when I say I know what it's like to be on the streets."

Fiona listened to him, shocked that he had been taken in to this life. "I guess we have more in common than I thought. My parents abandoned me when I was young. The man I call my father took me in and taught me everything I know. Thankfully, he wasn't afraid of my powers. He had a few as well so he taught me more about them." She looked at her hands and shook her head. "I'll never get some people. Maybe that's a good thing." Standing up, she brushed her skirt off and sighed. "Okay...I'm ready to slowly eat." Hopefully she could. When she got out to the dining room the maid was putting a new plate in front of her chair. Fiona sat down and looked at the soup, thinking it would be best to start with a little of that. Then she could work on the other food. The soup was better than she thought it would be. It was also better than anything she had eaten before today. That was pathetic.

Maxwell nodded at her and stood easily, walking with her back out to the dining room. He continued to eat his food as he kept an eye on her. This time she was eating slower. That was good, he didn't want to have her throw up again. Truth be told he got a little sick when other people did, so he didn't think he could be as helpful a second time around. When she ate he nodded and then looked around for a moment. "Did you want to go ahead and go tonight shopping? I can call the shops and they will stay open.. then you won't have to deal with the press or the other people watching you.. and me." he said. "I normally shop late at night."

Fiona thought about going shopping tonight and didn't know if it was a good idea. She was really tired. The thing was, if they went tomorrow more people would be there. "Okay. We can go tonight." She finished her food a while later, her stomach feeling calm. It was nice. "I've never really gone shopping. This will be strange." She had stolen any clothes she had. They weren't anything fancy, but she didn't need fancy clothes. The girl already had it in her mind that she was just going to get a few outfits. It would be easier that way. Less time, less money for him, and it would be easy to find her clothes. Maybe three shirts and three bottoms. Fiona felt odd taking from him, having refused much help from even Marco. He would offer to get her food, but she said no. She would use her money for food and some bathing things. She would take baths in the river near by, and she would use that water to brush her teeth. She was homeless, but she didn't want to be nasty.

Maxwell smiled at her and nodded. When she was finished he smiled and stood, brushing out his simple jeans and t-shirt. He made sure he had his wallet and then held his arm out to her. "Well come along my fair lady." he said with a wink. He wanted to show her around the town and also show her what it could be like when she started to earn her own money. He would obviously pay her for being his assistant, as well as splitting the profits from the jobs with her. He took her out to his garage, which had a few cars in it, and ended up deciding on the SUV, that way all of her bags would fit in the trunk. His faster sports cars just wouldn't work for that. Besides that he was planning on getting her an entire collection of clothes. She was beautiful, and deserved them. She had lived a hard life.

Fiona smiled and took his arm, walking out to the garage. She looked at all the vehicles and shook her head. "I've never been in a vehicle before." She walked over to a red sports car and ran her finger over the curves of it. "This one is beautiful. I saw a man driving in a car like this once. I ended up finding his home and...Well, I did what I do best." Her hand fell from the car and she walked over to the large vehicle Maxwell was near. "Would it be wrong for me to call you Max? Or should I just stick to Maxwell? I don't want to call you something that only friends and family do. Especially since I'll be the help." That's how it would look to everyone else. Fiona had to act like she was just another person he hired, not an equal.

Maxwell stopped and looked at her. "You are not the help." He said simply. "We came from the same place." He said simply. He looked at her seriously and then shook his head. "You are not the help and I don't want you to think less of yourself. You are my equal." He said simply. He gave her a serious nod and then motioned for her to get into the SUV. Once inside he thought to answer her question. "That being said Max is fine." He said simply. He wouldn't have her thinking he was better than she was in any way.
