His next project was to create his other boar trophy. He admired his new outfit, tweaking the settings a little to settle his appearance before modifying his cloak into a hat, broad and curved up on one side. The feather in his hat was the feather in his cap; it perfected the look. He moved his shield to his second equipment set and set it up so that he could swap between just and the set of and his . He stood almost entirely unrecognizable. His pants were made of glistening spider's silk, and were tucked down into tall, silvery boots with turned down cuffs.

He started on the next trophy. Continuing to customize his ensemble, Alyx observed his light armor upper; A vest of thick silk covered a loose silk shirt with loose sleeves, and a half-cape fell from his shoulders. His belt, which was composed of two crossing ropes of spider silk, had the Gloomweave Queen's trophy as its buckle. A broad cavalier's hat made of stiffened spider's silk was the last ingredient, with a broad white feather as adornment. He looked every bit the duelist, and looked over himself with approval. Yes. This would do nicely. was sheathed at his belt, and he smiled. This would be an interesting experiment, to be sure.

Looks like Alyxandeyr had progressed far enough in his trophymaking skill to produce a Stage 2 trophy, and he only had the materials to produce one. He began work on the Boar Stage 2 trophy and marveling at his luck; he had gathered so many of these things that it was crazy. This sure was an expensive hobby, though. It had the potential to get in the way of his other endeavors, if he wasn't careful. He'd probably need to start being more picky once he'd leveled the skill enough to get to Stage 3 trophies. But until then, he needed to make as many as possible in order to level the skill. Besides, he was getting really good options this way.

2x Gloomboar Trophy (stage 1) A trophy infused with the Light of a Gloomwood Boar. While active, this trophy grants the user a resistance of -1 bleed damage per turn. The trophy is the tusk of a Gloomwood Boar suspended on a rough hemp rope.
Trophymaking Arte: Stage 2 trophy Allows the trophymaker to combine two Stage 1 trophies to produce a more powerful trophy. This does not require the use of preserving oil.

So he set off into the woods to slay some monsters, to collect some more trophies and to maybe earn back a little of the 1600 gil he'd just spent leveling up. The choice of where to go farm was a difficult one, but he finally settled on Gloomweave Spiders, since he would really enjoy getting a few more spider-themed items, or even trophies from the spiders, since they were the cheapest trophies he could get ahold of. He could level his trophymaking cheaply if he could get ahold of those trophies. So he went to the Gloomweave Cave and gathered up five of the spiders, leading them away from the rest and drawing his blade, settling into a stereotypical dueling stance, looking for all like a cavalier duelist, albeit without a true rapier. He could take hits like that all day and never even get slowed down. He'd managed to dodge exactly one of the spiders in the crush of bodies, and that was mostly due to the ineptitude of the spider rather than any talent on Alyx' part. This was going to be tricky to pull off. But he'd get the hang of it, he was sure. No, he was determined. He had these weapons and this armor for a reason. He was ! Name: Rampaging Rabbits! Questgiver: Beastmaster Prerequisites: None Objectives: spend 1 post spreading bait for the rabbits to put them back in their pen. Rewards:+1 Beastmaster
You come upon a man surrounded by an army of rabbits, all hopping and walking in different directions. He appears to be attempting to herd them back through the door of a pen that has been left open. He notices you and looks at you entreatingly. "Oh no! Oh no! Get back in the pen, pretties. You're not supposed to be out here! You! You, help me, please! I'm able to keep them from running off, but only just. Can you grab some of their food and spread it in their pen? I'm sure it will lure them back in!"
Alyx had a fairly decent haul, his favorite piece of course being another , raising his poison damage to 6 per attack. He was close to lucky seven, and then he would be at a loss for what to do next... He could kill the Gloomweave Queen a few more times to collect her trophies some more... Maybe even get her to stage three. That might be exciting. He wondered how easy she'd be now that he'd gained so many levels. He had been level seven when he'd fought her first. Now, well into level eleven, he was even more a force to be reckoned with. He didn't feel confident enough to attack her with his new setup yet, but maybe after a little more farming he'd be up to it. Meanwhile, he decided to handle a few more quests and get some easy points. Beastmastering sounded kind of interesting, and the quest was certainly easy enough. He watched a man struggling valiantly to prevent his rabbits from escaping, and decided to help him. Gathering some of the rabbit food, Alyx spread it on the ground, and all the little bunnies came running. He smiled and knelt down to pet some of them. They all looked so precious. He almost wanted one. But he knew that that would not be the wisest option. He settled for petting them for now, as they hunted through the grass for their food.

He smiles "Thank you for your help. So what brings you around here? Interested in learning how to tame animals? Well, most animals are easy; throw a little food their way and they'll do anything you say. But monsters can be a little trickier. Sometimes there's simply no way to tame a beast without the bond formed by birth.
In fact, I've been meaning to try something for a while now, and I think you can help me with it. All those Gloomweave Spiders have to come from somewhere, right? Well, they're born inside that Cave, and then they come out when they're ready. That means that their eggs are in there. If I could get my hands on those eggs, I could have an actual pet Gloomweave Spider! If you could bring me a Gloomweave egg, we could try and see if it works!
Please, if your adventures ever bring you to Gloomweave Cave, keep an eye out for those Eggs for me."Alyx listened.... He stood there for a minute, unable to comprehend what he was hearing... He read through the information provided with his new skill... And then it started. It started low, and slow. Merely a whisper. A small shaking of Alyx' body and shoulders. And then it came, a little louder. A little quicker. It slowly transformed into an uncontrollable, maniacal laughter and Alyx through his head back. His entire body was shaking with laughter as his voice echoed through the encampment. He slowly came back in control of his senses, and immediately purchased bait for his new goal of getting his beastmaster high enough to do something that he didn't even know the possibility of... But damn it if he wasn't going to try. -300 gil +30 bait He promptly set off in the direction of the Gloomweave Cave, determined to level up his beastmaster skill. He would farm Gloomweave spiders until he was ready for his real test. He found one on the edge of the group and readied his bait. With his settings, he basically tossed the bait to the monster and if it hit, it would be absorbed by the mob. He took aim and prepared to do battle... Taming battle. He prepared to do friendship. ((Alyx 1,2 | spider 3,4)) HP: 240 AP: 11 Bait: 29-1=28 Spider: HP: 20 FP (friendship points?): 20-10=10 Gloomweave spiders: A large spider, roughly three feet tall and six feet across. A successful attack from this monster will cause poison for three rounds, worth one point of damage a round. They are found near a cave, which is filled with them. Venturing into the cave will start an encounter with at least three spiders. (player gets to choose how many, but it must be at least three, plus one for every additional party member beyond one.) Once those spiders are defeated, notify a moderator for your special reward, before leaving the cave. HP: 20 -40 to all combat rolls. Immune to effects. will always attack (will attack party members at random. 1-100 can be split into as many parts as needed to ensure everyone has an equal chance of getting attacked)13+2=15 beastmaster 46/2=23+6=29 evasion 26-40= -14 attack -27 defense 63 attack 15--27=42/4= 10 Friendship points!evades spiderAlyx connected with the spider, and instead of its healthbar dropping, another layer of the healthbar appeared, a pleasant color of blue over the opponent's normal green healthbar. It approached fifty percent as it began to fill the bar. So if Alyx got it to full, then he would get his reward for taming the spider. He knew that he couldn't actually tame the spider, but maybe he'd get a heart from it. It was a shot, anyway. Either way, he'd get experience for trying, and what he really needed was experience to be able to accomplish his ultimate goal. If he filled up on Spider Hearts before then, he would be even better off than if he just went for it. Current skills in use: Beastmaster: 2 light armor: 1 evasion: 6 Name: Spider's fang. The spider stopped attacking him and began to glow blue before transforming into a small lootable item. Alyx picked it up and looked at it. It was a small gemstone cut in the shape of a heart. Inside, he could see the image of a Gloomweave Spider distorted in the facets. Now that was pretty. He put it into his inventory and decided to check his victory dialogue. He'd gotten at least what he'd come for, he was interested in how much experience he'd gotten for doing it. Current skills in use: Beastmaster: 2 light armor: 1 evasion: 6 Name: Spider's fang. He had to have them. If there was a 'normal,' there was always a better option. He licked his lips and took aim at another spider. He would take down a couple of them and see what he got. If the special hearts were really rare, then maybe he'd have to take a couple more down, but he was perfectly willing to take that kind of time if the rewards were worth it. But were they? He didn't even know what were for. He would have to level his beastmaster more before he learned what he could do with them. And, luckily, earning leveled his beastmaster. Serendipity.
