It hurt too much when the shield broke, like pieces of glass pieces penetrated his body. He gulped for air as Jason pressed the sword from his back, he got pinned down on the ground. "That's the second time you pin me down, Jason." He chuckled cheerfully, didn't miss the chance to tease the hunter.

"I'm speaking to you, don't worry. You've asked twice 'are you okay'. My answer is: I'm okay, just need a break while Cat heals me." The exhausted trainee reached out, hands overlapped behind Jason's neck to pull him down. "Thank you Jason, for not holding back. I had a great time in this spar. Now calm down." He giggled, chest raising up and down.

"I learn a lesson today: Never underestimate a hunter even he looks adorable." He was still be playful and it would tell Jason he was alright. "So anything I can improve, senpai?" Feeling the word that Allan used was fun, he picked it up.

While waiting for Jason to calm down and answer his question, he unraveled the braid and didn't plan to make a new one with it. His make-up, as expected, was still neat and flawless.

The smile on Ace's smile grew bigger, "Calm down now?" He then touched himself for Jason's question, examining the more serious cuts not healing fully yet. "I dunno, senpai. Do you think I need some?" There was a lopsided smile after his words.

"My moves are good, that's nice to hear." It might imply a hidden meaning or not at all. "Jason, do you know how I close the distance with someone in a spar?" He suddenly asked, and just smiling.

He docilely listened to Jason's suggestion, feeling the pains subsided with the cool sensation from the bandages. The feeling resembled chewing mint candies.

"That's a good way, but I will -" he drawled, reached out his arm to hook Jason by his neck and jerked. "Like this, but with my scythe's curvature. Draw closer and slash across." He smiled, looked at Jason who suddenly so close to nearly kissing. "It's effective, I tested on somebody before."

"I know." He shrugged while freeing the hunter. "But if a guy holding a big scythe lunged at you, you can notice it in a few seconds. So I will slide down along the shaft and hold the very end with one hand. That will change the position of my scythe when I go for my opponent, my body will help hiding the direction it's going for."

The surprise all written on Jason made a laugh escaped Ace's mouth, "Just a random passer-by, I never see him again. I guess I can modify my actions when I have more experiences. Jason, among all the spars you had in the past, any leave a deep impression?"

Ace was pretty sure Jason couldn't get a clear picture of how it worked, thus he asked a question to keep on the conversation. "A competition? We've that kind of stuff? Did you win?" His mind went to 'list of benefits you can enjoy if you join us!' a leaflet designed for potential hunter candidates, he might be not recovered from the impact yet that his mind went a bit wild.

"Any of your opponents are still on this island?" They might be good spar partners for him.

"Second place, that's cool Jason." He said with a delightful voice. "If I am right, three out of four are girls? Where do they hold the competition? Here?" He pointed a finger downwards, indicated the training fields they were currently at.

"Tell me more, Jason." He held his tilted head with one hand, with an interested smile.

It was more about curiosity more than knowledge. Ace was not the person after knowledge, like he'd asked a question, but when he got an answer, he stopped and won't dig further down. "Mud? Did I hear mud? I guess I must miss some awesome mud wrestling, why I didn't wake up early?" The tall man sighed painfully, really made it sound like it was a big shame for him.

"When did it hold? I mean which month?" He was determined he need to participate if they had it this year. "It might be a good suggestion to have it in summer though" he touched his chin like he had a wise old man beard.

"Oh well, next year then." He shrugged, "Hopefully." He was thinking of other things already, picked up quick and put down quick, he changed the topic of it. "Hmm, there must be more interesting fights, you've been on the island for so long." His tone was like girl pulling the clothes of you when she asked for something, minus the action.
