"Wow. Well. It's a really good uh, watch." He could praise his friend's...abilities, right? Mention of the coming weeks video an the possible awkwardness made Colin frown a little bit. "I end up watching twice. Usually I'm fighting with assholes in the chat." No problem in admitting that, it wasn't like he did anything wrong. "If it's too weird, let me know. I don't want to stop you doing something you enjoy."

Decisions, decisions. Colin slowly shifted so he was laying on his side with a pillow between his knees - they ached otherwise. "Depends. Are you offering Dance Moms because you find it amusing or because you think I like watching Abby Miller screaming at kids?"

Truthfully, he didn't really care what they watched.

Maybe Aleksy knew Colin's chat name--he had a lot of detractors, but whatever, he kind of got off on it? in a ******** kind of way--but he wasn't going to ask. "It's not weird," he said. "I wish I had known. I would have bound my chest less." He flopped, as much as he knew how to flop, back and propped his head up against the headboard.

He shrugged. "I enjoy trying to find out why those women allow Abby Miller to treat their children that way," he said. "Those girls don't deserve her vitriol. It pisses me off." Aleksy eventually clicked on something entirely different--some Canadian sci-fi event series--and glanced over at the IV bag again.

"Give me your hand," he said, extending his. "If you continue drinking, I doubt you need it anymore."

Possibly, Aleksy would know the screen name he used most of the time, but he wasn't about to offer it up and the petite man didn't seem keen to press, which was completely suitable to Colin right then. "Yeah, I imagine that's not comfortable. Corsets for shows are bad enough." A full on binding of the chest and ribcage? Noooope. That sounded about as appealing as having one's star seed taken out; knowing that it was a fact of life for Aleksy didn't make Colin pity him, but it did give him an extra measure of appreciation. It took a lot of willpower to continue doing something that would hurt - he knew!

"Oh, I can tell you. It's because she makes champions. Everyone wants their kids to be successful, I guess." Colin's eyes crinkled at the corners with a smile, but then he yawned into the bed and shook his head a bit. "She's no worse to those kids than September with us, you know." Aleksy's viewing choice was interesting, neither show he'd planned on watching - but scifi, which the blond could only assume was to cater to his preferences. He's really a good guy. . .

Colin offered his hand and allowed Aleksy to remove the IV line, it stung but really, he didn't need it. "Hey, you're in charge. I just work here." Meaning, of course, that he would behave himself and eat and drink like he was supposed to...as much as he could, rather.

Aleksy wrinkled his nose and shook his head. "You're an adult. Those are eight year old children." It wasn't right to force one so young into roles that seemed mostly determined by their parents. He focused on pinching off the IV and sliding the needle out, gently, and leaning across Colin to discard it. "Treating young children like s**t is--what the ********. It's wrong." Humiliation was not part of critique!

"Do you want more water," he asked, peeking into the cup of ice. It was maybe half-full. "Do you feel well?"

Was now the time to tell Aleksy that he'd been dancing since he was young and that his coach(es) had also spoken to him harshly to push him towards perfection? Or should he just let sleeping dogs lie and instead enjoy the show? Naah, no fun in that. "Remind me to show you some of the footage from when I was young...I think Abby Miller's harder than she has to be, but she's also...not unique. Not really." It was like some Rite of Passage nonsense, akin to the whole hazing of medical interns with those weird hell-shifts.

"Don't get me wrong, I think it's shitty. I remember what it felt like and...no kid should be treated like that. But...it's just another part of dance, I guess?"

"Mm, not right now, thanks though." Colin stretched his legs out, flexing the muscles and pointing his toes reflexively. "I feel okay. Exhausted physically but not mentally." The blond shifted to roll slowly out of the bed, "Be back in a sec." No matter how hard Aleksy might have tried to hold him back, a trip to the bathroom was not going to be taken with an audience - or an escort. Eventually, he would be back to rejoin the other man on the bed, curling back the way he had been before. Near Aleksy but not quite touching, pillow between his bent knees and head propped up to watch Netflix.

Ah, he hadn't even thought about how them knowing each other could possibly make Aleksy's continued work awkward, but it made sense - and if Aleksy had wanted him to stop subscribing so he could work in comfort, Colin would have respected his wishes. But Aleksy said he didn't mind, so the blond would keep watching.

"I'd like to."

Back to less loaded topics...probably. "Dance Moms. I like seeing the girls growing in skill...and Abby throwing b***h fits." Colin resettled more comfortably and smiled over at his petite friend, tired but happy to have company. They would watch Netflix and chill, Aleksy sticking with him and making sure he ate when he should, while Colin just kept soaking up the attention and telling himself that while he'd done some stupid things, he would be okay. There were people he could rely on - Quenton and Aleksy and Van. His new friends Nadia and Lorne.

Colin would be okay.

His friends wouldn't let him be otherwise.
