He just smiled charmingly at her.
"Weren't you just saying something before?" Chance asked. "Something about 'taking a chance...?' "

She scowled. "It is a song! Gosh! You are so thick." She huffed again, her cheeks flushing angrily under her foundation. "And you have a dumb name! The song is.. it is about LOVE!" She flailed her arms out. "LOVE!!!"

He was starting to become way more amused than probably right, but, well...she was making it too easy. Chance gave a slow nod, as though he was carefully considering what she was saying and making sure that his own thoughts were the same.
"Love of chances?" he asked, completely innocently. "Taking a chance on love?"

"UGGH!" She exclaimed, dragging her hands down her face. "You are lucky I have time to teach you this sort of thing. Come with me, you hopeless, hopeless man!" She huffed, stomping past him. "I will just have to go through the lyrics with you and explain them so you can understand!" Because this song was her newfound obsession and everyone needed to know how awesome it was. Obviously!

He obediently followed after her, trying not to laugh too much, but it seemed she was serious about teaching him. Chance went to put his hands in his pockets, remembered he didn't have any, and instead tucked his hands together against the small of his back, falling into step beside the tiny girl.
"I look forward to learning from you, then," he said, smiling down at her. "I'm not particularly well versed in popular things, after all.

"Well, I can't say if it's popular or not. I found the dumpy thing abandoned. I'd never heard of Abba until yesterday." She proclaimed without shame. Despite not wishing to dine with commoners, it was better to take Chance to the cafeteria to teach him. Inviting a man to her chamber was just unbecoming of a lady! After picking up a small meal, she sat daintily at a table near a window. "Now then.." Fishing through her bag, she hefted out a large supply of journalling tools. "Time to school you on Love!"

"I've never heard of Abba at all," said Chance mildly. The cafeteria seemed an odd choice - Kiki seemed not to fit in quite right, somehow, with her dainty, airy self - but he grabbed himself a bag of chips and an apple anyway, sliding into the seat across from her.
"On a song, or on love?" Chance asked with a laugh. "Or both?"

"Both! Duh! You need both to understand, obviously!" She opened the page of one of her journals. It was the lyrics to the song, written in pink and sparkly gel ink, and adorned with notes and stickers of crowns, hearts and bows. "Okay. So.. the chorus." She began matter of fact, pointing at the page. Quote: If you change your mind, I'm the first in line Honey I'm still free, Take a chance on me If you need me, let me know, gonna be around If you've got no place to go, if you're feeling down If you're all alone when the pretty birds have flown Honey I'm still free, Take a chance on me Gonna do my very best and it ain't no lie If you put me to the test, if you let me try "What do these lyrics make you think of? Do you relate to them? Do you have a special someone you wish would choose you? It is a woman who's heart belongs only to that one person, even if they are not ready for their love!"

Chance bent over the journal, squinting at the lyrics. The pink was kind of bright, but thankfully not entirely unreadable. He popped a chip into his mouth and chewed as he contemplated both the words and her question, which was kind of amusing.
"Well..." said Chance slowly, smiling slightly. "I have a...well, I suppose you could call it a special someone, but...from the sound of it, the person in these lyrics sounds...maybe a little desperate? I mean, they keep repeating that the other person should take a chance on them, that they're first in line, and they're free, but...shouldn't they talk to the person first, see if they're even interested?"
He looked up at Kiki expectantly.

Kiki looked Chance dead in the eyes. And slammed her book closed. "You're a moron and have NO concept of romance!" She puffed her cheeks, and began snacking on the peach she'd taken. "Honestly... so hopeless. Men are hopeless."

"Wait, wait," said Chance with a laugh, waving his hand. "I was just teasing, I promise, I want to learn."
He took another few chips and gave Kiki his most winning smile.
"Please?"

She calmed herself and readjusted her posture. "I suppose." She dried her fingers on a napkin and opened her book again. "Right, so.. you see here? If you change your mind? She obvious had confessed to him, but was rejected. He had his sights elsewhere you see. But rather than give up, she remains faithful and loyal to him and her heart."

He peered obediently back at the notes, reaching for his apple.
"Ohhhh, I see, I see," said Chance - and he actually did. "So, this girl - sorry, lady - she confesses, she gets rejected, but she decides to stay in love with him, just in case he decides to change his mind? Or does it mean she decided to be friends with him still, and just love him from a distance and him loving her back would be a great and unexpected turnaround?"

"Yes, sort of. You see, she knows that she is the only one for him. That any other girl is just a fleeting leaf of unimportance in comparison." She said smugly, nodding her head. She lifted her drink to her lips and sipped daintily, pinky out. It was just a juice box.

He let out a hum of thought, eyebrows raising just a little at the pinky, Chance hiding his smile by biting into his apple. He swallowed, dabbed at his mouth with a napkin, and contemplated some more.
"So what happens if he never changes his mind?" Chance asked curiously.
