The mask couldn't hide all of the flush under her dark skin, but it managed to get most of it. "Have a good day.

"Of course." She paused, looked as though she was going to walk back towards him for a handshake, and then thought better of it. She just turned around again, and walked out of the door.

There was a reason Ana had worked so well in the shadows, in anonymity. She was really bad at this social thing.

"Have a - " She'd already said that. She stopped herself, grunted, and closed the door behind her, leaving in a rush of embarrassment. Two seconds later, he could have heard her own door open, as she returned to her room. When it closed, there was silence, until -
