Mynshaka Post 1
User Image
Mynshaka was slouched against a pole holding up a stall, warily watching the crowd. He had come because his teacher thought it a good idea.. he hadn't wanted to but now that he was here he was slightly glad he came. This way he could tell who was one what side.. and have a word in the actions of his land!

"We've barely got ourselves back onto our feet! We don't have time to try and reach some land we know nothing about when we should be focusing at rebuilding our own homes!" He called out in his deep voice. And the obans may not even let us cross to aid them.. or would take the opportunity to attack while we were away.... Best to stay home and let the strangers deal with it themselves... Certainly there were enough people in that land to stand up to a bunch of extremists!

Sanele Post 1

Sanele was munching on some dango as she listened to the debate. A voice speaking up to the side made her glance to see a matorian decked out with a bunch of bangles. She approved.

"True but.. be nice to have something good our people could do for others for once right? And hmm.. If we help they'll be more likely to allow us entry into their lands right? As merchants, hunters and performers." And she'd have more chance to be welcomed and get information about beasts and perhaps find a teacher out there to aid her when she eventually left Oba.

SRIINA POST 2

As more people spoke up she could feel the discontent in the air. So not that many wanted to open war again. She guessed it was far too soon for most in this particular area.

She had to scoff at those who spoke up for helping. They were mostly outsiders it seemed. Shifters and the like who had ended up here visiting or whatever and now they wanted to drag Oba and Matori into it again?

"Easy enough for shifters and wind earthlings to speak up and drag the rest of us into a war we don't want. Sure, send us in to protect your friends and family. What about us? We saved your last war, and now you want us to save this one too?" Sriina pursed her lips. Her irritation was peaking.

Nuri Post 2

Nuri listened as Saraf spoke up his mind, not surprised at his way of thinking. It was quite true - in fact - that the timing was ironic in a way. Now the entire place was turned around, and the Obans were joining with once-enemies as they fought the once-allies. Shaking his head, he was glad he could look at this all as a solider. In his mind, there was no reason to fight or argue - whatever the king and generals wanted was what was going to happen. These two figured up in the sky were not part of the army, and so this entire discussion just seemed fruitless.

Keeping his lips sealed for a bit, he nodded with a smirk at Saraf's agreement to them fighting side-by-side, feeling that he would have no better ally than the man who he had been training with since he joined the army. However, when Saraf asked about who he was looking for, he felt a bit of anxiety.

"Oh...uhm...I just assumed I would see an old friend out here...if she was around and not working..." He tried to sound nonchalant, but he avoided Saraf's gaze and pretended to sweep the crowd once more, "There are too many people, I most likely wont see her any-"

He cut himself off as he heard his name called, and his hands gripped the small bag of sweets while he turned toward that direction. In the back of his mind, he wondered what Saraf would think upon sight of the Wind Girl, especially with what he had just said. However, he pushed that aside as he saw his friend smile, and he sent her one back.

"It's been awhile...I'm surprised you found me..." He debated a long second, before deciding to just deal with the introduction head on, "Aseara, this is Saraf...he is part of the army and has been training with me since I joined. Saraf, this is Aseara, she's a dancer and...""

He paused for a slight second, looking at Saraf before turning back and sending Aseara a small smile, "And my friend...we've been through a few battles of our own since we've met."

Twice of the few times they interacted, a fight had broken out. It seemed he saw more action with Aseara than Saraf. Now to see how the two would act around each other...this would be interesting.

Saraf Post 2

"An old friend?" He asked, giving a thoughtful sound when Nuri spoke of a girl who might be here if she wasn't working. There seemed to be too many people though and Nuri suddenedly seemed as though he wasn't going to be seeing her... and just as he said that Nuri's 'friend' seemed to appear out of no where. He turned to look at the blond girl, giving her a once over, before he gave a sound of understanding in his throat, "Ahhh, I see." So was she the reason why Nuri seemed to be so eager to help out those from Sauti? He supposed that would make some sort of sense though he wasn't sure if a woman was the best reason to go racing off to battle. Was Nuri hoping to show off to this person by going off to Sauti to aid in a battle that really was none of their business?

He found himself being introduced to the woman despite not exactly caring that much and he gave a slow nod of his head, "I see, well, it's... nice to meet you, Aseara." He supposed, it at least gave him a bit of insight into Nuri's mind when it came to the possibly of getting dragged into some battle. He should likely keep an eye on his friend, as well as the woman, get a feel for what she might be after. You never know, she might just be a friend and was just being friendly, but he didn't much trust those who weren't Oban. It seemed that Nuri was more trusting it would seem.

Drawing in a deep breath he held it, let it out slowly, before he said, "Well, don't try to get into too much trouble when you're playing with your friend, Nuri."

Aseara - Post #2

“With most of the crowds dispersing it’s easier to see.” She gave him a once over, he looked… Different, not in a bad way of course but perhaps more mature. Her eyes went to his tattoo briefly; it looked nice across his dark skin; Aseara liked it. She would have to ask him about it another time, she didn’t think it would be appropriate to do so now. She was definitely going to have to tell him to come visit her, discreetly of course. She didn’t hide the fact that she was a dancer but you could never guess how Obans took to knowing one worked at the Red Amaryllis.

Aseara was happy to see that he had introduced her as a friend; Saraf seemed to be perhaps an army friend of sorts. It was even better if she didn’t mention where she worked then, she didn’t want to get Nuri in trouble. “It’s nice to meet you as well Saraf.” Aseara gave him a small bow and a small smile. She hadn’t missed the slight pause in his words. That was okay, she knew the situation was a little tricky. She was Wind after all and the subject at hand was well… Saving Sauti. She wondered what their thoughts were on the subject but chose to not ask.

“A few too many,” Aseara sent Nuri a secretive smile. “But I do promise to keep him out of trouble as much as possible. You have my word.” She didn’t know why she felt like she’d had to say it, but there was just something about Saraf. Or maybe it was just because she didn’t trust anyone.

Kani Post 2

"If they want us to save them why not. It shows we're stronger than them and they'll owe us. Besides, allies are nice if the Oban try to attack again. We can't just cower in our homeland forever. You'd think a fine swords woman would want to fight and not cower, but perhaps that is not the case," Kani chuckled, rolling her eyes at her comment about it only being outsiders.

She was very obviously not an outsider and she was for it. Did she trust the Firelings? Absolutely not. They weren't the problem at the moment though. The Alkidike were and who knew if they would stop at just Sauti. Pacing a bit, Kani tried to control her own irritation at her people. They were all cowards. The lot of them. Yes, she had the same ideas at one point, but she had changed. She still believed people were out for their own selfish will, but that didn't mean they didn't need help. If she was going to be the best shaman she could be she had to be willing to explore and help others.

"The rest of my people may be cowards, but I am not. If Sauti needs aid I will give it willingly and prove that the Matori can branch out and aren't afraid of anyone, not even the Oban."

Quoting you since Kani was throwing some shade at Sriina. Sorry. XD

Eziya Post 2

Hearing others complaints, Eziya nervously backed off. She was an outsider it was true. She really couldn't ask anyone to go to war for her people when they weren't them. She just wanted to help others though. It's why she'd come to Oba, and now she was afraid if she stayed she wouldn't be able to help anyone. She should have ran back to Jauhar to at least pull her mother out of the situation. Now it was too late for that. She had people to worry about here as well now. Serr and his family more than anyone else. She just wished she could get people to see that helping was a good thing. Besides, it would be all of them against just the Alkidike. It would be a lot safer she figured.

Solari - Post #2

For the most part it almost looked like half wanted to help Sauti and the other half didn’t. Solari could see most Obans wanted to go to war. Her eyes narrowed at those who spoke up, of course they wanted to go to war. They always wanted to go to war! Her eyes turned to a girl who was speaking to another Matori about being cowards and Solari rolled her eyes at her. “I don’t think it’s about cowardice more like, like this one said,” Solari motioned towards Sriina with her chin. “They’re dragging us all over the place.” And she did not want to be dragged anywhere.

Vodyanoi | 2

The woman he found himself speaking to was an Oban -- which might have made him a little nervous, except that it was clear from her attire (and perhaps her attitude) that she was no noble.

Vodyanoi shrugged by way of reply, spreading his decorated hands out questioningly. "Of course it's right to do good. But these are two tribes I know very little about, and I doubt most here know very much either. What reason do we have to decide that Sauti is good and worth helping? What if it was the Alkidikes who came to ask us for help in their conquest, would we take up arms and help them too just so they can say we did good for them?"

He agreed with her when she spoke about opening borders (how nice would it be, to arrive in a strange town and be treated like an ally!), but temperance held him back.

"I know, I know, from what I've heard of these warring Alkidikes they'd never ask us for help. But what if it were two other tribes? Tale and... Zena, or something like that. Will we be known as the tribe... well, the tribes that jump in to fight with whoever's messenger reaches them first?"

Kalliope Post 2

Her weight shifted from one side to the other before she moved from her standing spot. There was no way she could simply stay put. Kalli wasn't a fighter so the decision on what to do shouldn't be up to her. However, she knew that she would be going to Sauti if no one else did. As she moved she seemed to cross the path of one Matori male that had a view of his own. Her dark red eyes went toward him and she frowned. Still though, the dancer in training kept her mouth shut. Kalliope could see what he meant, now that she was old enough to know about the war and previous enslavement of the water tribe. Their own lands needed time to rebuild, to heal, and so did their people. Asking them to fight for someone else would be selfish.

Gael Post 2

He sat still as he listened to the arguments all around. Gael wasn't fond of the idea of being indebted to the other tribes. So what, they had worked to free the Matori, it didn't mean they now belonged to the rest of Tendaji. He sighed and shook his head before his eyes searched the crowd to see if his brother had shown up with the rest of his siblings.

Istanell Post 2

Istanell was glad to hear he was on the more popular thought path, this time around. It wouldn't have swayed his decision one way or another, but it was nice knowing he wasn't about to get punched in the face for his opinion. In fact, the female beside him seemed overjoyed with his words and... well, it was strange to Istanell. To have someone so vehemently for his words. He watched as she smiled, and thought it lit up her already cheerful seeming face. The corner's of Istanell's mouth twitched as though he wanted to return the smile, but it didn't come.

His eyes flickered to her hands as she seemed to move closer to him and he tensed up, immediately relaxing when he realized she wasn't trying to do anything though. His head tilted a little as he considered her words, only now making the connection that Suati was where the wind earthlings came from. He had known that, but sometimes he needed a little extra jump to realize what he was realizing. Istanell felt for her, truly. How often had he felt exactly like that? What good was he, what good could he do? "There is always much to be done before battle. Even those unskilled in weapons can help... cooks, menders, healers... simple kindness and support is more than help enough." He listened to the crowd, taking a moment to feel out the thought mentality. It had been positive... and now he wasn't so sure.

serr post one

The Leaf had nothing to say. He thought those unwilling to fight were cowards, plain and simple, but he could hardly tell them that. It would just make them bristle up and ignore him completely when he had something important to say. Instead he skirted the crowds, watching how the Matori and Oban barely interacted, how they stayed in their groups years after the war. He wouldn't be like that.

Serr crept up behind Eziya and raised his hand, hesitating for a moment before he lightly touched her shoulder. He hadn't meant to creep, it had just sort of happened that way. "Even if they don't fight, we can leave," he said softly. "We can go help."

Edicie, Post One

Edicie pulled the hood of her cloak closer to her head as she traveled through the crowds of the festival. It was risky to come out into the crowds, many of the nobles could recognize her, then her parents could be alerted to her whereabouts.

But she loved festivals. The games and the food, the people most of all excited her. She saw so many people she would normally never see in the closed quarters of the nobles. She mentally shook herself, and smiled as the line of the food stall she was at moved, and made her next in line for roasted meat on a stick. Just the smell of the spices used made her mouth water.

As she stepped up to the counter, she placed her coins on the table, and yet, pulled her hood down more, and only lifted one finger to indicate the quantity she wished to buy. After taking her purchase, she waked back towards the crowd near the dais that the two race leaders were sitting on. She moved into the shadows behind the stand and took her hood off and smiled at the little snack she had bought, and prepared to enjoy it.

As she was finishing off her food, she heard Besian speak.

She paused in her eating to listen to the two leaders. Because she was close to the dais, she could hear them, but because they were facing the other way, she had to pay close attention.

After the two leaders spoke, she heard the murmurs and shouts of the crowd before the stand.

So, it was to be war?

Edicie's skills as healer would be needed if the Obans went to war again. She remembered the last one and feeling helpless to help those who were trying to free the slaves. Her parents, of course didn't care one way or the other as long as they could still have their lush lifestyle after the war, which, because they didn't really support the former king, they had kept.

Edicie looked at the empty stick that had held her meal and thought about the implications of this war if the Obans joined them. They were still reeling from the last one, and people were battle weary and suspicious still of one another. But that was a Oba and Matori problem. Perhaps going to war would bring them together?

Edicie sighed. Her skills would be needed. So would her master's. Perhaps soldiers seeing a freed Matori and an Oban working together would inspire the two to get along at least for a common cause of saving another race from becoming enslaved.

Edicie nodded in resolve and pocketed her trash. She then slipped her hood on again and slipped into the dangerous crowds to voice her opinions.

Eleina - Post Two
At seeing Karothdra she smiled. "Hey!" she nodded and looked around. "It seems like we have a knack for running into each other during rough times." she laughed as her eyes returned to Karothdra.

"What do you think? I'm not as defenseless as last time. I'm down for helping them out." she wondered what the other girl thought. It seemed as if the crowd wanted different things. Some thought it wasn't their buisness, some wanted to fight. It seemed to her that if they really wanted to keep the peace they had no choice but to fight.

Tera Post 1

It wasn't too often that he went out on his own, his mother not really allowing for him to do so, instead wanting him to stick close to Kyruie and Ashta so that the two of them could do the job Tera's family was paying him to do. He had slipped out of the window of his room and here he was, where everyone else was gathering. Much to his surprise it wasn't just a party, which he thought that he was going to. There was more to it then that, like some rather serious talks for a pair who seemed to be quite important. Nobody he knew. As though he knew anyone all that important a voice said in the back of his head. A comment that he ignored.

Starting forward slowly he set to scanning the crowd before slipping forward again. He wanted to get a feel for what was going on, get a look at things, and then maybe he'd see about going home. It took a moment to figure it out and it had him tilting his head to one side. Alkidike? Alkidike... who were they? Again, something he didn't really know anything about but it would appear as though they were starting trouble? Something that made not only Tera's people but the Obans as well debating if they wanted to help against them? So they were helping each other now? At least these two were chatting nicely it would appear. He wasn't sure what he thought about that, still sort of seeing the Obans as nothing more then terrifying. Best to avoid them, their monsters that aren't to be trusted the voice in his head said in a hissing tone, something that Tera could only agree with as he slipped forward quietly.

It was starting to appear as though he shouldn't have come, this wasn't at all what he'd expected when he slipped out. Not as though he had any interest in getting into any fights against the 'Alkidike'. Unless of course Kyruie got involved, then and only then would Tera get himself involved... he could only hope that he didn't though. He wanted Kyruie to do things that made him happy and he doubted highly that a battle against an unknown enemy would do that.
