Was this man made of compliments or something? Pahana had to keep herself from physically melting to the ground! She hadn't been a prentice for ages, or at least that's what it felt like to her, and yet, here she was, trying not to squeal like some love sick child! She covered her face to hide her furious blushing, and let out a string of laughter.

"You really are too much, Bushi!" She cried out, taking a breath. "My goodness! You thought I was a prentice? Honey, if my family had been here to hear that, I think they'd lose half a lung just by laughing! I do, however, appreciate your compliments! You've made my years of raising these kids worth every hard day, you have no idea."

She let out another laugh as he asked what her secret was, and simply rolled her eyes.

"Hard work dancing and keeping up with a daughter who eats her weight in meat and thinks swords are cutlery." She replied, frankly. "You tend to stay youthful and fit when you actually spend time working on yourself, instead of sitting on your behind all day. Of course, taking a decent soak in a lake and giving yourself some time to yourself usually helps, too. Learning to relax is good for your mind, body, and soul."

Bushi gave a smile and a wink before he said, "Well, I just call it as I see it." It was actually the sort of compliment that he might dish out when dealing with the older noble women in Oba but this time around it was with all honesty that he'd said it. Back home it was to fluff the egos of those he sold things to, here it was something he'd genuinely believed about Pahana's age. He would bet that the way that he'd first seen her, tripping over her own feet, had helped to attribute to his assumptions about her age. At least she hadn't been insulted, instead seeming to be quite pleased with the compliment that came along with his mistake.

Giving a thoughtful sound Bushi listened as Pahana set to explaining to him what her secret was, before he gave a bit of a laugh, "Hmmm, I might actually be able to sell 'dance' to them as a legitimate source of exercise or way to be useful, the rest of it though I doubt the noblewomen would be up for. Thank you though for letting me in on your secrets." A shame that she didn't claim it to be some herbal bath or certain sort of fruit that could only be found in Tale, he'd definitely be in business then. Giving a grin Bushi said, "I am a pretty big fan of relaxing when I can, though these days it seems harder to get a good nap in. Been too busy for that sort of fun." Now that he was in Tale he doubted he'd have any time to himself to try to get some relaxing in. Soon though, perhaps.

"Ah! Just look at your market place, I must say I am a fan." It wasn't as crowded as back home, not as much pushing and shoving to get to the good stuff. Calm was welcome, not to mention it meant he would have a better chance at chatting up the merchants between sales. Excellent! Here was to hoping that he might be able to get his hands on some of the various things that he'd come here for he thought to himself. Even as he thought about how he wanted to get to work it was a little hard to break away from Pahana, finding himself enjoying her company to the fullest. Once she got her bag, and he started to chat with the merchants, would she be on her way? It made sense, she'd escorted him here after all, but it seemed to be a shame nevertheless.

Odd, he'd never wanted to put on business for chit chat before... and yet here he was deciding to do that for just a bit. He'd chalk it up to good company and make up for his idleness later he supposed.

Pahana shrugged. Oban noble women clearly didn't know what life was about. There was time for work, time for play, and time to relax, you only needed to find the right balance. Pahana's relaxing time was when Ujana was at practice and she could sneak away from the house long enough to find a nice place to sit and just be herself for a while. Having a few girlfriends around didn't hurt, either. Doing nails, chatting about their families... Just the sort of things that cleansed the mind and let the stress roll of your shoulders like water. Maybe nobles thought those things weren't worth their time? She twisted her mouth at the thought. What a bunch of old women. No time for being lazy, such a foreign concept.

"Well, if that's the least you can sell to them, then I suppose I've given my advice." She replied, rolling her eyes. "All I know is that I feel amazing after I've worked out, but, I guess to each their own. No need to argue about it."

Her eyes went back to the market, yet again, and paused on a merchant in the corner. Oh, right! That's where she'd left her bag! Hopefully it was still there... She looked up to Bushi, a soft pout forming, and motioned toward the stall.

"Well, that's the stall where I left my bag." She muttered, pointed to the merchant. "Do you want to come with me and meet him? He's a friend of my brother, but not the brightest of folks if you ask me. The guy's obsessed with fruit."

Bushi gave a bit of a chuckle, wondering if his comment had miffed Pahana a little bit, "I appreciate the suggestions and advice, I am sure that it will help me out in the future and for that I must thank you. Not only the advice about the dancing but about about the best way to make friends with the local merchants." He wanted the locals to be amiable with him, to see him as more then an Oban, meaning that he had to do his best by them. Things were definitely going to be made a bit more difficult given his tribe's earlier actions, but he'd do all he could to make a place for himself here, one that didn't involve any sort of fighting, just haggling.

"Sure, if you know him then it feels that it's the best place for me to start. Thank you, Pahana." Being introduced by the pretty young woman should be helpful to integrating himself with at least the first of the merchants. A good stepping stone to get trade underway. Giving a smile he said, "Obsessed with fruit, huh? Good to know, I will keep it in mind." Always good to know what each merchant favored since one could take advantage of that when bargaining. It would mean getting fruit from other merchants to trade this guy, or using some of the stuff he'd brought along like dried fruit that was from Oba.

After a look around he asked, "Do you see your bag? Is it still there or did the little thieves sneak off with it?"

Pahana nodded and turned her attention to the merchant again. Yep, Minal lived, breathed, and ate fruit. You could find almost anything fruit related at his stand. Be it on skewers, fried, or grilled, if it was made of fruit, it was at Minal's stall. She pursed her lips as Bushi spoke and eventually sighed.

"I can't see it, but Minal may have put it underneath the table for safe keeping." She said, giving her head a shake. "If it's not there, I'll just buy those things again tomorrow. It's not like I can't afford another pound of fruit."

She found herself pausing upon Bushi again and laughed.

"You're doing great already in my book! I'm sure you can charm everyone in this marketplace." She added, clasping her hands together. "Just be you and they'll be very receptive. Honesty is the best policy, after all!"

Bushi gave another smile, "Well, here is to hoping that your friend was able to save your bag for you." Though if the little band of thieves that she'd was around he might have to see about making friend with them. They could be quite useful to him and he knew full well that for a bit of pay they would work pretty hard. He'd seen about hiring them on later, after he'd made friends with everyone in the marketplace. That Pahana seemed to think that he was doing great helped him to fee more ready for doing this without the aid of the helpful woman.

"I will do my best and and be sure to be honest with all of those that I meet." He assured her, lifting a hand to wave as they approached the one named Minal. Stepping forward he greeted the merchant before striking up a conversation with the merchant. He introduced himself, then set to explaining what had brought him from Oba, his desire to trade with others outside of Oba, and to make ties. He wanted to open up Oba for trade with outsiders, to show that they were able to do more then make war with each others.

Turning to look at Pahana as he chatted with the man he gave her a smile and a nod, glad that he had been able to meet with her. She'd allowed everything to start out more smoothly, something that Bushi was most grateful for.

Pahana offered a smile and nodded. Yes, hopefully. She fidgeted a little as they approached Minal and grinned when she spied her bag on tied to the side of the stall. Oh, thank goodness, Minal had left it there for her! She thanked him profusely, while allowing Bushi his time to chat with him, and stood to watch them a moment. Minal wasn't the best at chatting, but he was open minded, and offered as much as he thought he could. This was a relief to Pahana, mostly because she wanted Bushi to settle in Yera without a hitch. It seemed he'd do just fine with Minal's help.

After a while, she bent to tie the bag around her shoulder, and nodded back to Bushi.

"I'll see you around! I need to get this home before my daughter gets back!" She said, smiling toward Bushi and then to Minal. "Feel free to stop for a chat anytime, Bushi. My door's always open!"

And with that, she was off, smiling all the way home.
