Saraf gave a thoughtful sound as Nuri explained to him how the current beast masters in the army seemed to think the Oban beasts the greatest there were. Nuri didn't seem to be as blindly loyal to one creature though, did he? He wanted to seek out others, to test them, to see if the addition of new beasts might bolster the Oban forces. It was something that had him giving a smile, "I might not know a lot about the beast master thing but I most certainly approve of anything that can strengthen our army." He knew that it had its many weak spots, a number of them within the officers that were blinded by their own greedy desires, something he felt had caused many missteps during the war back in the day. He'd see those weak spots fixed, even if it meant ripping some things down so they could be rebuilt, one of those things possibly being the way that beast masters looked at the world if Nuri had his way.

Taking another sip of his drink Saraf gave a toothy grin, "I will be sure to take you up on the offer. We will have our sparring matches as often as you think you can handle until you head out on your journey. After that I will have to scour the ranks and see if there is anyone as tough as you to take on as a temporary partner until you return." It would be tough, but not impossible, or so Saraf hoped.

It felt good to hear Saraf's response. To be honest, the oban had been the first that Nuri suggested his idea to - he mostly kept the ideas to himself. If a proud and powerful oban like Saraf was willing to consider his ideas, maybe the leaders of his group would also be open and considerate. Sure, he needed to strengthen his argument, but still he had someone who was agreeable.

As Saraf grinned, Nuri tipped his own lips slightly in response. He wasn't one to flash teeth, but he trusted the one in front of him enough to show a bit more emotion. After beating the hell out of each other, they had to at least be friends.

"I'll keep an eye out as well, I've heard some rumors of another who passed a test much like my own. A woman who is said to have savagely fought her way against a series of half bloods, right in front of the queen..."

Saraf gave a little whistle, "Sounds like a terrifying woman, though that might actually make her rather interesting as well." He couldn't help but to wonder why exactly the woman had been off battling half breeds in front of the queen, but surely there was a reason? The mention of it being a test was likely where the battle had stemmed from, but it still interested him greatly, "Do you know the woman's name?" He wasn't going to promise to seek her out, it might be a little odd if he did, but if they were to cross paths he'd like to at least know that she was the one that Nuri had spoken of.

After finishing his second drink, a feat that left Saraf not drunk but instead with a light buzz, he looked to Nuri and asked, "Another? Or shall we pack it up here?" He knew that their duel had been a good one, not to mention a tiring one. There was also the fact that he wasn't really certain what Nuri's alcohol tolerance was. Best that they didn't get sloshed or else they might not make it home he thought to himself with a bit of a chuckle. The very last thing the two of them needed was to have getting drunk and getting lost on their permenant military records. Best that they tapped out early to avoid that sort of thing, not wanting to give those who might oppose them in the future any ammunition.

Nuri narrowed his eyes at the question, trying to recall the name of the woman. After a long moment, he let out a sigh, "Most associated her with her father. She's the General's Daughter. Made a big name for herself without daddy's help, but they still talk of her like that."

He knew about it because her rumors circulated around with his. It seemed as if the Army always did keep an eye on the recruits, and those that stand out are known within the month.

Glancing at his drink, Nuri rolled his shoulder to see if he should keep sitting. The stiff resistance was a clear sign that it was time to get active or he would regret it more in the morning.

"I think it is time I head home and get some salve for these bruises. Maybe we can plan to meet without bruises in the future."

The General's daughter, huh? Well that could really go one of two ways depending on her thoughts when it came to the plans that Nuri and himself had when it came to taking over the jobs of the higher ups. He said that she was making a big name for herself 'without daddy's help' so maybe she wouldn't get in the way of their plans? In fact maybe she'd help since she seemed to want to get strong without aid from a big name backers? He had so many questions now, though he wasn't about to go running off to seek the woman out. If he could find her during training, if she was a part of it, then cool. If nothing he'd need to find a more natural way to meet her then stalking...

Saraf gave a small smile and a nod when Nuri said that he was ready to go home and out salve on his bruises, "Alright, sounds good." He said, getting out enough coin to pay for the second round of drinks, then gave a chuckle, "Yes, a night out without bruises might be nice. We will save that night for a point where we are ready to celebrate something big." Once they had grown in rank, perhaps? Not something that would be happening soon, but it still gave them something to look forward to.

Moving over to the bar Saraf paid off their tab then headed out with Nuri, bidding him fair well when they got to where their paths split. It had been a good day, one that had Saraf wanting to do the same thing as Nuri, but decided the salve would could wait a little longer. Instead he'd see about running a few laps around his neighborhood before he headed home, wanting to get in that last bit of training before it grew too late.
