Silence was all the met her, it was probably for the better Maya surmised. At least even his feet were falling lighter on the forest than they had been previously. "You'll have to forgive us, when we get to Ast you might find that our house is a bit cramped. Teiluj has a habit of collecting people to help." She didn't glance back as she continued her pace towards the house knowing full well Pacju would notify her if the Matorian left. Not that she would blame him, she was starting to wonder if she had scared him out of his hide. Not that he smelled like he had. She had to give him a bit of credit, even timid people had strength to them. Something she learned with her own daughter.
Feeling no need to press for words Maya guided them both through the forest. A bit grateful they were so close to Ast. She had promised him food after all and her word was next to the important thing to her. She held her word as highly as her own daughter. She would at least make sure he got there safely and once there make sure he had enough food to take back to his teacher. "Does your teacher eat much?" Maya finally asked, trying to suss out just how much food she would need to pack up for him once they had gotten home.

A cramped home? That didn't bother Virain as much as Maya thought it might. While he was used to room, his parents Master and Mistress didn't want him to venture into a lot of the rooms incase he stumble and break something. Something of theirs that was. They were kind in their own way he supposed, but the occasional beating hadn't really changed his opinion of them.
He tucked away the barely touched bar into his pouch and licked the sticky residue from his fingers. "No Ma'am." He whispered, "Master doesn't eat a lot." That was probably because Kybell was forever giving Virain portions of his own food, trying to get the young Matorian to fatten up. The earthling said that he was far too small, too skinny for his taste, and that training would suck what little fat he had off his bones.
Above them he could hear Tweet as he thrilled, but the kinfa was a bit too large to make it through the canopy unharmed. He silently prayed that his familiar would stay away and not get caught like he had.

"He must be very old then." Maya said as they broke from the forest into a small clearing full of homes. Guiding him through the city towards the far end where a small house poked out from the others. Held a little further back into the forest. "Here we go." Maya motioned towards the house. "There is where we are going, i'll know soon enough if you're lying to me."
Approaching the house Maya pushed open the door and held it open for the matorian with a raised eyebrow. "Well inside with you. The longer you doddle the more I'll think you're lying.." In all honest Maya didn't really think he was lying people didn't have much information on Teiluj, and knowing she would help anyone was only information kept by the other healers within Ast due to her willingness to help those that others did not.

"Master isn't old, he'd probably only 15 summers older than I am." Virain replied, voice still low. But the longer he went without his life ending or bodily harm falling upon him, the more he seemed the gather his courage. He looked around the city as they passed through it, eyes alight with curiosity. Tweet called out from above, finally able to spot him again and he waved at the kinfa. His familiar screed at him as he dipped low, the tips of his wings just barely brushing against the top of his head before he pulled back up.
He felt better knowing that he wasn't alone.
The feeling didn't last long as they arrived at Maya's home and he was ordered inside. Swallowing he entered the home, a muttered "Excuse my intrusion." as he walked inside.

Maya regarded the correction carefully then gave a shrug as Virain entered her home. Once again ignoring the strange customs he was displaying. No one was that polite when entering her home. The smells of fresh food wafted through the air, and Maya had to wonder which of the three were currently cooking. Teiluj? She was likely to be the one cooking in her mind, the girl was a natural born homemaker, always tending to everyone. Nkole? Maya was appalled she had even thought of it. V'demhe? Maya shook her head at that thought to and came back around that the person cooking must be her daughter.
"This way." Entering the kitchen Maya cleared her throat and inhaled the smell freshly roasted meat along with various nuts fruits and greens. At the table was Teiluj, her hands busy preparing the meal with haste. "Hello Teiluj, I'm home. Though, I'm not alone. I seem to have recovered this strange earthling in the forest. He says he knows you. Any clue who he is?"
Teiluj looked up from her work and searched the figures before her her face blushing as she took in the Matorian, was he Virain? That was the only one she knew of his race. Swallowing she beamed a smile at him. "Is that you Virain?"
