Both of them exchanged glances at each other and then shrugged.
"Was he a doctor?" the first one asked, ticking off one finger from her raised ten.
"Was he naked?" the second person made the same gesture, turning it into a game of twenty questions.

Though wilting and a bit easy to tears, Cassie was no idiot. She glared at the two Mist Hunters, sneering loudly. "No and no." She frowned, crossing her arms. These people were not very nice at all. It seemed a lot of Hunters weren't, if she based her impression off Caelius, these two, and all the Twitter conversations she'd seen. "He said he's not from here, just visiting. He looked... He's hard to describe. Average. Clean shaven, sort of. There was something about a storm coming - a suitable candidate."

"Got it, one basketcase duly noted." neither Mist Hunters actually noted anything, or wrote anything down, and instead began to focus more on the hilt. One of them took out a coin. "Heads Caelius, tails H."
"Wait," interrupted the male Mist of the two, "what about Lance?"
Both of them paused for a moment and the female of the two got a sort of disgruntled expression one would expect from someone who had gone to Lance a few more times and had gotten more than she bargained for due to her certain attributes.
The coin fell over and landed squarely on heads right on the sand. Both of them didn't say a word.
"You could just flip the dice again," the guy prompted.
"Eh," she replied, "it's your turn anyway. Not my problem anymore."
The male Mist sighed and began to trudge off, but not before flipping them both extremely majestic birds when he thought they weren't looking. About a few minutes later he was gone past some rather majestic sand dunes.
Silence.
"So," the girl filled in finally, at the gap of conversation, "are you new new here?"

After that display, Cassie sort of just stared at the Hunters, making a small offended sound at being flipped off. What in the world?
Get used to it. Stop crying, you stupid scareling.
Her red hair whipped back to the female Mist, the one doing the antagonizing. Was she being nice now? Or was this some sort of setup for another berating? "Very new, I-- just about a week."

"Well I just wanted to let you know, it really shows." At least Cass was mostly right about the setup for another berating. The Mist Hunter held up a hand before Cass could rebuke. "Let me just help you out, just this once. First, you are probably in the worst possible division for a newbie. Learn to buckle up fast, shut up, say your yeses more than nos, and look attentive. Do what you want outside your time, but I guarantee you will get ******** nothing if you try to sass anyone who's assigning you anything whatsoever."
"Second, if extremely mysterious and important things you think are happening to you, I'm just going to say right now that recently most mysterious and important things have lead to extremely bad results. I would be careful on who you trust, if you catch my drift." She shrugged. Well, I'm off. Don't like sticking my nose in places where it can get chopped off."
She waved to Cassie, stepping away.
