Any text from Gale was a great excuse for a distraction--today was paperwork day in her circuit of the Death division--but one word was enough to wipe away the tinge of pleasantness.kuuropii Text to Galestorm <333: On my way! With some apprehension was the invisible addition.
She'd never before gone to Caelius' office but knew where it was situated well enough after all her shadowing. Only with a little hesitation, Stormy entered and tried not to give the bloodstains and broken window too long of a glance.
"Sir," she said to Caelius first before turning to Gale, obviously curious if not mildly concerned. "You needed me?"

"He, needs you," Caelius corrected. "You are here to observe Gale. He will be debriefing you on a mission. Once everything has been properly explained to you, I will ask you specific questions regarding this mission. Consider it a test."

Stormy's arrival was a welcome relief. Caelius' continued snarkiness was not, but Gale could at least focus a little easier when he was talking to Stormy and not his permanently irate boss.
He turned slightly, giving her a small smile that bordered on a Caelius is acting like Caelius grimace, and took a breath.
"The legacy known, by mere common tongue alone, as the 'Grail' has been wreaking havoc ever since it was discovered," said Gale, more to bring Stormy up to speed than anything else. It would do no good to talk about a mission if she wasn't aware of the facts. "Causing viruses and confusion with every touch. It is, in some way, related to the incident last year, when Otto and I were nearly killed by the entity known as 'Peter Pan,' as well as the recent events performed by the splinter group Ouroboros."
He took another breath to steady himself, hoping he was going about this the right way.
"Last I was made aware, Ouroboros was in control of the legacy. It seems to be blocked by some sort of protective barrier - or rather, perhaps," said Gale, "Protection itself, since when brought in front of Charlotte...Sam...whoever she is right now, mentioned a sword, which likely refers to Excalibur."
He cast a sideways glance at Caelius, wondering if he was even remotely on track here.
"The virus is unmanageable at best. If we could infiltrate Ouroboros and gain control of the legacy once more, or even speak to Excalibur, it might be possible to neutralize the threat of the legacy before it becomes too much for us to handle."

A test? She felt her confidence drop, but this affected Gale too, and she couldn't keep letting him down. Stormy returned the pained smile and listened as attentively as she could, eager for some clarification as to what had been going on. Okay. The Grail caused the nasty event earlier, got it. Peter Pan, however, made her pause in some confusion. Was that the thing that had dragged him and Otto through the vines, then? She didn't know how to feel about that, only vaguely remembering Gale had mentioned the encounter a while back, but there was certainly dread hearing Ouroboros had the artifact in there grasp. Worse, possibly two. She didn't know what to make of Sam and Charlotte, other than the names ringing a bell as previous Death division hunters. Overall, not so great news. When was it ever? She nodded her head once he finished and glanced at Caelius, bracing herself for the inquisition.

"Stormy," the Death lead began, after it seemed Gale had finished his narration," I want you to point out every single incorrect piece of information from what Gale has just told you."

Incorrect information? Stormy paused, gaze flickering between the two hunters, and inwardly shrunk. Was this just a bid to continue to destroy Gale's confidence, or did he honestly have the wrong information? It was critical everything was clarified, but...Then what was right? If she knew anything about Caelius, the answer was probably everything.
"Mm." She moved her jaw about in thought for a moment, considering how to approach this. What was most likely to be wrong? What did they, or at least she, know the least about, according to what she was told?
"It's...not called the Grail?" Stormy began a little hesitantly. "But it's a green legacy, right? Because the people with the virus had green eyes? I remember from the time we were in those kingdoms, that color was Creation, I think." That didn't make a lot of sense--why would Creation have something that could be so destructive and violent? Move along. "Um...The entity known as Peter Pan isn't related to it but is an entirely different phenomena or being. Ouroboros has an artifact or legacy-related item, but it's...not Excalibur?" If she went with her strange theory that Creation could have different sides, then maybe so too could Protection if Gale really thought they had something from it.
She passed her boyfriend an apologetic glance.

"Stormy," the Death lead turned to look right at her, "I did not ask for you to theorize, I asked for you to explain. If I were you, I would have a very thorough talk with your group leader about what is exactly he ******** wants."
A folder was placed haphazardly on his desk, facing Gale. "As neither of you can decide and have filled it with inane ideas, I will initially assign the project to you. Congratulations Stormy, your and Gale's incompetence have earned you additional mission assignments." This did not seem like a good thing. "You will be investigating a quarantined site for substantial evidence on this virus you keep on misnaming. Everything you obtain, every piece of information will be recorded in that folder and handed to me post mission. I want the two of you also following the mission, with your team to figure out what it is exactly what you should be investigating instead of what you should not be investigating. You are both dismissed until the mission begins tomorrow at six am at the lighthouse portal. I will expect the two of you to be properly prepared." medigel Wrap this up/ Just set up a new rp and let me know when you both are ready! kuuropii Wrap this up/ Just set up a new rp and let me know when you both are ready! Stormy's apologetic glance was received with a slight smile, just the faintest upturn of Gale's lips, because he knew perfectly well that she was not intending any offense to him. That, and he appreciated her input anyway, because there were certain things that he was still unsure about himself, and having a second point of view was important to him.
The incompetent comment was met with a certain amount of resignation and mild annoyance, in spite of Gale's familiarity with Caelius and his disdain for everyone that was not himself. But regardless of the situation, Gale was not actually upset at the fact that they'd gotten, essentially, a supplemental mission. This could possibly be a chance to expand upon the knowledge he needed to build up the information they had gathered.
Gale gave the Death Lead a slight incline of his head.
"Yes, sir," he said quietly, and turned to Stormy, reaching out for her hand.zoobey o wow zoo that is a beautiful sig A++++ I wonder who made it!!!

Additional work might have discouraged someone else, but frankly Stormy welcomed it. Better to make up for her lack of activity twofold than continue wasting away in their room with a cig in her hand. But she made sure to look properly castigated nonetheless in the face of his lecture. "Yes, sir," she said with a bow of her head. "Thank you for the opportunity, sir."
And with that, she took Gale's hand and led them out.
