Lenore thought briefly. "Probably not? I haven't had very many friends. Besides my pokemon, you're the second real one I've ever had. Maybe the first. I don't know." She paused, contemplative. "Actually, what makes someone a 'boyfriend', anyway, come to think about it? Is it just a friend that's a boy? I see it mentioned in books, but they never really explain the significance of the word."

"O-oh," Zin said, taken aback. "Umm, well... Boyfriends aren't just boys that are your friends. Boyfriends and girlfriends, um... Kiss each other," she explained awkwardly. She suddenly laughed, amused by the strangeness of their situation. She managed to giggle, "You've read so many books, I'm surprised you don't know."
Zach had to smile as he shared Zin's mirth. He was grateful that his trainer was such an optimistic person; absorbing emotions like hers made it almost impossible for him to remain worried about his parents.

"Oh." Lenore blushed lightly - even she knew what kissing was. The books certainly covered that. At Zin's laughter, however, she blushed harder. "I-I-I don't know everything!" She said defensively. Looking down, she played with her hands to try to calm down. It wasn't working. "Wha... what about you? Have you ever kissed someone?"

"Haha, no," Zin replied. "I've never had anyone like that." She tossed a pigtail nonchalantly over her shoulder. She'd never given things like kissing a thought before; why had Lenore suddenly made her start thinking about it? To save them both further discomfort, she decided to change the subject. "Want to keep looking now?" she asked, glancing between Lenore and Zach.
The ralts got back to his feet and gave a brave smile. he said lightly. He still wasn't sure what that odd emotion had been, but it was gone now.

Lenore wasn't sure why, but the other girl's response made her feel a little happy. She continued to play with her hands momentarily.
At Zin's suggestion, Lenore nodded. "Sure." Standing up, she wiped some blades of grass off her dress as the last of the blush faded.
A bit away, Mephistopheles and Zarya got ready to continue the search.

The searching party looked all day, but as the sun began to set, it was time to head back. Zach was disappointed that they hadn't found his parents, but Zinnia encouraged him to keep his spirits up. All hope was not lost, and if his parents had been captured, then there was still a chance that they would find them in the city. So he rode back to down on Zinnia's shoulders.
At the edge of town, Zinnia halted. "I guess Zarya will be staying with you starting today," she said lightly. "You can come visit any time you want, but I hope you'll make really good friends with Lenore's team," she told the ghost pokemon. She smiled. "I'm proud of you!"
She turned to Lenore. "And thanks, for agreeing to have her. I know you'll take good care of her," she added. She hugged Lenore again. She was naturally a touchy-feely person, but something about holding the younger teen close felt right deep inside her.

Zarya gave a shy smile to her former trainer and thanked her for her hospitality and understanding.
Lenore nodded wordlessly at Zin's thanks, and slowly reached her arms up to return the hug. While she wasn't a naturally touchy-feely person, something about Zin's hugs made her happy, and she wanted to return the favor.

"Let's meet up again soon!" Zin said as she released her friend. With a final wave, Zinnia parted ways. Her team was now down two pokemon, but somehow it felt like she'd gained a lot more than she'd lost from her activities that day.
