((OMG lol next he's going to say Pheonix is a gyarados! Lol)) "We've given him a bit of a run around, Pheonix, try earthquake again," called Emalthya. Pheonix flung himself to the ground and used the extra force from his landing to super-power his earthquake attack. HP: 600/1000 ((Also they added the first pokemon movie to the pokemon channel and I am so watching this))

(( XD Would you like him to? It can be arranged!)) Kite landed hard after whizzing by a good two feet or more below the aerial opponent. Almost as soon the riolu had found it's feet another tremor knocked it down. <"Oof!"> Kire pouted for a moment before bouncing back with a another quick attack aimed at Pheonix's scaly legs. (Ah! I picked up the DVD disk only for $1.00 at a con a couple years ago, enjoy! )) HP: 600/900

((OMG lucky! I wish they'd bring out the original movies but, no luck. Definitely teared up a bit when Pikachu was electrocuting Ash to wake him up crying )) Pheonix, a little off-balance from his earthquake attack, fell hard when Kite flung himself at his legs and hit the ground with a thump that sprayed up crunched pieces of the stadium floor. "Get up, Pheonix!" cried Emalthya. "Use dragon claw!" Pheonix shoved his claws into the ground and used the extra momentum to push himself up off the ground quickly. He whipped his tail around at Kite like a burning rope. HP: 400/1000 ((Getting some critical hits there, good job!))

((My family went together to the first movie when it was in theaters, and even my mom cried, it's a very effective tearjerker! My dad fell asleep though, lol! XD We're both getting crits, the dice have no favorites this round! XD)) " Kite bit anyway, and yelped as teeth met too hot scales. HP: 400/900

Pheonix flicked Kite away with his tail like a giant snake. "Pheonix, use heatwave again," said Emalthya. Pheonix drew in a great breath an exhaled flame. HP: 300/1000

Kite skidded through the now pebble and shard filled stadium floor. The puppy tried to avoid the new attack, but but a wave of heat isn't exactly the sort of thing you avoid. With a growl, Kite kicked loose dirt at the dragon. "Dig. huh. Good idea." he panted. Cael tugged at his gloves and seriously thought about taking off his coat. It was too hot before, but Heatwave had to be the worst attack. D': HP: 300/900

Pheonix covered his eyes with his wings, but that didn't help the dust already in them. Emalthya's eyes gleamed, seeing an opportunity. "Earthquake again, while Kite's digging!" In normal battle, this would produce an apocalyptic amount of damage, similar to using Thunder on a pokemon using Fly, but in this case, it was unlikely to do very much. It was still a very good strategic move, Emalthya thought. HP: 200/1000

The riolu yelped when the shifting earth pinched it's toes unexpectedly and then gave way beneath him as the debris turned fluid in response to the shaking. Cael cringed. "...Sand attack might've been better...." he observed, belatedly. Kite scrabbled out and shook all of the clinging dirt free, and a spray of it arched towards the opponent. HP: 200/900

"It's nearly over, Pheonix," said Emalthya. "Use Dragon Claw- it might be our last attack!" Pheonix's hp was low enough that the next blow from Kite might be the ending blow of the battle, but Emalthya was not going to lie down for it and neither was Pheonix. He nodded at her in solidarity and struck out with his claws. HP: 100/1000

Cael bit his lip, this was getting scary, Kite was looking bad! What if they won but the big Gyrados fell on Kite? "Try to doge it! Or deflect it- p-parry-?!?" He stuttered sharply. Slow to react, and not really sure what "parry" meant, the small riolu barely got its paws up in time to meet Phoenix's oncoming attack. HP: 100/900

((Oh Congrats you win!))
Pheonix took the attack and fell, tripping hard from the cracks caused by his earthquake attacks and fainted.
Emalthya gasped in horror but by the time she, dancing over the crests and gullies of the now-ruined stadium floor, reached Pheonix, he was already sitting up and smiling.
She wrapped her arms around him, proud of a battle well-fought and Pheonix did as he had planned and licked her across the face.
"Ew, Pheonix," said Emalthya, wiping her face. "Good job I didn't put any make-up on, your heat wave attacks were strong. "Congratulations on your win, cael," she called brightly. "I hope we can do it again some time!"

((Dang that was close! Thank you! The dice favored me, which I didn't expect. XD)) When Emalthya hopped the guardrails, he followed suit. If the other trainer did it, it must be allowed??? He avoided most but not all of the snags in the floor on the way, and reached them after the other trainer had already be graced by a lizard lick. Cael looked up at the trainer, "Thank you for helping me train my pokemon! I think Kite might have gotten better at listening by the end, that was tense!" and then he looked higher to Pheonix's level, beaming, "and thank you to you, too!" Kite panted, sprawled in the dust near the temporarily downed charizard, with a tired but happy puppy grin on it's black and white face, and puffed a short <" Did good?"> Cael final turned to his pokemon, kneeling to ruffle it's pale head fur before picking the tired creature up. He scooped up it's back feet to carry it more comfortable, and replied, "That would be nice! hopefully, by then me and Kite will be a great team!
