"How kind of you." She sneered back, tone dripping sarcasm. She was silently impressed that he was scrambling up to his feet still - after her blow had landed, she expected him to rethink his attack and give up. Instead, he continued - lance slashing out. The move was slow enough that she need only raise her blade to parry it. The lance-head bounced off.
At this point, Shalvesta's confidence was soaring. That's right - he had approached HER. Wanted to attack HER. She was only defending herself, right? Getting this into the fight wasn't HER doing, but his! So who could blame her for being so pleased to be succeeding? Refusing to think over the alarming thoughts, Shalvesta braced herself, then rushed forward, leaping at the last moment, her sword held beneath her to slash downward as she fell. This would, she hoped, be the final blow - it had to be powerful enough to hit him where he wouldn't be too horribly injured. She may have succumbed to blood lust in this fight, but she wasn't fully lost to it (thank the gods!)
"Just give up, now!" Shal insisted, panting from her attack. Surely this fool wouldn't insist on continuing, no matter the outcome of this attack?
