Otto smirked playfully, looking up at the much taller Chance. "I look forward to it." Because he liked playing on his phone. "Hmmm what kinda fun messages?" He asked curiously, though he felt like it might ruin the mystery.

Chance put a finger to his lips as though sharing a secret.
"That," he said delicately, "is for me to know, and you to find out. When you wake up the next time in your own room."
They were almost at the cafeteria; Chance pushed open the doors and breathed in the scent of...well, Deus food, which on a whole wasn't entirely four star cuisine, but at least when they were hungry it would suffice.

That gave Otto something to look forward to, so he smiled mirthfully. They walked into the cafeteria, and Otto was reminded the quality of food was entirely dependant on who was on kitchen duty. Some days it was great. Others... well, it also depended on supplies available he supposed. He himself had frozen chicken fingers in his own freezer for days he didn't want mystery meals. He smelled the faint scent of BBQ sauce, and he wondered if maybe they had Ribs, or spicy burgers... something edible with real flavour. "Ugh I'm hungry." He complained with a grouchy pout. "Please be real food..."

"I think that depends on your definition of real food," said Chance with a laugh as he picked up a tray, passing it over to Otto. "But at least it looks like this time we've lucked out and picked a good day to come, I don't see any MREs."
There were burgers being flipped on a grill behind the line by a woman who looked less-than-thrilled about being there. Still, burgers were better than the alternative, and Chance ushered Otto in front of him.
"Burgers and what looks like fries. Granted, they probably won't be as good as off-island ones, since cafeteria quality is questionable, but it's either that or the fruit basket, and I'm sure the burgers are much more appealing to us both."

"Fruits are only an option if the food is absolute s**t." Otto murmured, grabbing what he could from what was offered. He of course ordered a burger. The fries looked old, and less than crispy. But.. well, maybe ketchup could save them. Once he had the burger, he dressed it in an assortment of toppings available, as well as a fair amount of mayo and BBQ sauce. He licked his lips, excited to dig into a big meal. He added a juice box to the tray, as well as what looked to be a mini pie. Once his plate was full of food, he meandered off to grab them a table.

Chance selected the same thing as Otto, along with a generous helping of condiments in case the flavor was less than satisfactory (a fair concern for Deus food). But unlike Otto, he did add an apple that looked surprisingly well kept, a faint smirk on his lips.
(A mini pie was also included, because desserts were essential, after all.)
Chance followed after Otto and slid into the chair across from him, leaning back with a sigh.
"Considering all we've had in the past twenty four hours is a bit of bacon and protein bars, I'd say we're overdue for a good meal right about now," he said with a grin, adding liberal amounts of ketchup and mustard to his burger.

"No s**t. I feel like I ain't eaten in days." He took a big, healthy bite of his burger. It didn't matter if the taste was mediocre. He was so hungry that cardboard would taste like Filet Mignon. He made a happy noise of pleasure, sinking his posture in a relaxed state. "Next campin' trip needs to be around the corner from a damn Denny's."

Chance's snort of laughter was muffled into his burger.
"Next time I'll actually remember to bring better food," he said in heavy amusement, wiping ketchup from the side of his mouth with a napkin before taking another bite. "Or yes, down the corner from a Denny's, that also sounds like a good idea, they're 24/7."
It wasn't quite up to par like off island, but it was good enough and Chance was hungry enough to look past that.
"The s'mores were definitely the best thing, though."

"Dessert is always the best thing. Especially when it's dessert for dinner." He replied haughtily, as if stating an obvious fact. He took another large bite from his burger, mindful of the leaking mess the over dressed bun was making.

He was trying very hard not to laugh.
"An excellent point," said Chance mildly, halfway through his burger, which wasn't quite as successful at being mindful as Otto was. His fingers were slightly sticky with ketchup, and he set the burger down, reaching for a napkin.
"I think the world always needs more desserts."

Otto's healthy appetite was making short work of the once proud burger. "Dessert with every meal." Breakfast lunch and dinner. He looked up at Chance again, just because he enjoyed watching him. He had finished the burger rather quickly, licking his fingers free of sauces. He'd have to renew his pallet with the juice before he moved onto the pie. The mystery pie... What was even inside it? So now his staring was just Otto daydreaming about pie flavours.

Chance was busy with the napkin and didn't notice Otto's staring until he finished and had picked up his burger again. Dark eyebrows rose, lips quirking upwards slightly in a half-hidden smile as Chance took another bite of his burger.
"Contemplating life's mysteries?" he asked mildly, and then, just to be obnoxious and because it was what Otto had said to him before, "Take a picture, it'll last longer."

"Yeah~ pie mysteries." He murmured back, smirking at Chance's tease. " Maybe I will." He tried not to get flustered, remembering why exactly Chance brought that up.

Chance made a face at him, but it was playful as he finished off his burger, wiping his hands again. The fries were picked at, but they tasted too much like cardboard, so he gave up on them and went for the apple instead.
"Look, Otto, fruit," he said, just to be a brat.

Otto's nose scrunched, his face looking as if he were a child offered veggies instead of candy. Or socks instead of toys. "Gross."
