"Are you looking at the right map?" Mark said defensively, forgetting that Rep didn't actually have a map to look at. "Uh, take- oh there's someone behind the far door on the right, it could be someone we know, there's like, a one in one-hundred chance, take the second door on the left."
The second door on the left was marked LIVE SAMPLE ROOM and had a very clear and obvious biohazard sign on it.

"Live Sample Room." he read out, just in case Mark had a last minute change of heart, but opened it anyway, trusting to Mark and hoping to avoid having to deck another lab worker. He was mostly paid to take a callous approach to his own well being over other people, if it was another outbreak he would be ok, if it wasn't, well he'd know soon enough. "Just why ******** not." he said, mostly to himself.

A shocked lab worker, holding a clipboard, stared back at Rep. "What- what are you doing here?" He had a strange sort of unrecognizable accent. "Didn't you read the sign, you're supposed to be at the reception, the event starts in five minutes. Don't make me escort you back to reception, you have feet, now git."
There was a pause, and then Mark quietly whispered, "Oh s**t."

This guy, Rep did not immediately react to with hostility, in fact he backed up just a few steps as if he really was some clueless civilian having a wander where they shouldn't have been.
"Oh.. sorry. Right."
What little he was managing to piece together of what could be going on here was not reassuring in the slightest, there was an event of some description in five ******** minutes, Deus for whatever reason presumably urgently wanted to stop it and ...
Mark swearing was enough to jar Rep out of his thoughts.
"Oh s**t what?" he said, panic starting to sink its icy talons into his gut. "Go forward or go to reception?" He was getting antsy and was starting to instinctually lean in the direction of "charge in like a bull in a china shop"

"Yes! I mean no! I mean I don't know." Mark was clearly losing his mind as well, "Um-um just, I don't know, try to distract everyone at the reception, the lobby, just like, do whatever you can to stop it."

When in doubt and under immense stress, Rep's main response was to crack. Mark hadn't specifically yanked on his lead and told him to stop, nor had he said he had to get to the lobby through the sensible route.
Throwing his shoulder forward and barrelling into the scientist who had previously stopped him, he decided the best way to get to whatever was happening was through the whole ******** building.
At the very least, raising an alarm might distract whatever was going on elsewhere.
He was a really good spy.

The scientist went flying like a wooden toy, crashing into a nearby computer panel. Unfortunately, the wall was made of reinforced metal, and absolutely did not yield. Rep did, however, make a sizable dent. Unfortunately, other than barreling through a scientist and denting a wall, nothing else happened.
"Rep," said Mark cautiously, "that better be the sound of you actually doing something bro, we have a minute and a half to save the world."
Rep didn't know this, but Mark had always wanted to say that.

Rep snorted irritably at the offending metal and did turn around, charging full out back towards the lobby with all the speed of a child throwing a tantrum.
"Yeah...yeah.." he panted. "You can ******** say that when its you out here busting your ********.. balls...running... ******** hell he hated running, it was the worst part of fighting.
"So does this lobby have security?" he asked as he approached, adrenaline gripping him at the fact that he might well be too little, too ******** late for whatever was going down.

"I don't know!" shouted Mark, proving once again, exactly how useful he was. "Oh my god why are you so slow, you have thirty seconds, just run for the love of-"
- He was interrupted by the sound of classical music playing as Rep entered the lobby, a large, spacious lobby. Men and women in suits were waiting, staring up at a screen that simply said YES or NO. The timer read: 15 seconds.
