Fear was Amytis's constant companion, the background radiation of her life. Everything made her jumpy and nervous, to the point where she had started doing her best to shove it away and ignore it.

She wished she hadn't done that. If she'd been a little more afraid, a little more cautious, maybe she wouldn't be tied to the ascending half of the tracks in a half-built roller coaster, crying her eyes out and being used as bait for her fiancee. She wasn't sure there was a point this week she had stopped crying - from guilt, from fear, from pain.

This was the second time she'd been used against someone she cared about, and maybe for some people that would have made for a spark of rage, a desire to improve.

For Amytis, it just reminded her how useless and stupid she was.

Somewhere along the line she'd lost her lotus hair ornament, and her buns had come apart. She looked like a mess - was a mess - but she could feel a Dark Mirror aura. Chariklo. It had to be Chariklo. She wasn't sure if she was hopeful or horrified, at that, because on the one hand, her fiancee was here to save her - but on the other, there were so many officers, and if she got Chariklo killed, she would never forgive herself.

A tiny sob escaped her. 'Oh, Chari, please don't get hurt for me.'

”There is no alliance, Umber.” Cin said as she walked, her head turned about to watch the general and her opponent go over the first of the drops. Whatever happened from then on was not their business… there were agents farther in to help her out if the eternal proved to be too much. Someone had to guard their backs, warn the others if reinforcements showed up.

“The General-sovereigns ended the formal alliance a while ago. As far as I’m aware, we’re at little more than a mutual agreement not to raise arms against each other. Which this one has flaunted on more than one occasion.” The half-youma slanted a glance at the man walking beside her as the other took up the other side. It was a strange feeling to walk this way, trailing lower ranked officers who were actually looking to her to command them. It was troublesome and pleasing at the same time… but tonight was about business, not indulging in a new feeling of dominance. “The captive is very important to her. It stands to reason if she were a stalwart ally of ours, she wouldn’t be letting her girlfriend run around opposing us.”

Jumping from the tracks to the walkway by the entrance, Cinnabar flicked her tail and stretched, eyeing the strange lieutenant they’d picked up along the way. She wasn’t anyone Cin had met before, but the more eyes the better. She was welcome here and the Captain’s smile was warm, directed towards her.

“Did your captain make an exception to the senshi on our side?” She said, tilting her head. “Our corrupteds are as valuable members as everyone else. They hold the same rank, the same privileges… It would be stupid to dismiss them because of some weird bias to senshi.”

Giving a shrug, Cinnabar lifted her head, casting her senses outwards for the telltale sickly-sweet light of Order signatures.

“That eternal back there has been fighting beside the White Moon. Its a safe bet she has friends who are going to try to come to her rescue. And she’s right too… just the gathering of our signatures will pull people in, just like it would draw us if they gathered. That’s why the four of us are here. If you feel something, no matter how faint, sound off. I want everyone inside aware of what’s going on out here. I don’t plan on trying to hold this line… if they start showing up, we’re moving inside and calling for back up.” Arms lifted, Cin laced her fingers behind her head, relaxing into an easy, ready stance.

Quartz is here, that lieutenant's beliefs directly target my brother, and Cinnabar is telling me that the manual that the Negaverse distributes itself is wrong. This is a terrible start to the operation. And while I don't mind seeing Chariklo disposed of, this operation complicates matters greatly. I doubt the Negaverse can afford another enemy - especially if that enemy has propensity to team up with the White Moon. For now, Chariklo is a renegade, but how long before others follow her example? Or Court favor curries toward their White counterparts? I would've refused attendance if Xenotime had not asked it of me.

Perhaps I should've despite that.

"If you're right, then the Negaverse needs to update its manuals, Captain." It may have ended in active enforcement, but that doesn't mark it dead. Some pretenses should be preserved, if you don't want to attract too much attention. I expect you don't care, Cinnabar. If your decisions don't bite you immediately, would you have the foresight to determine when they'll be the death of you? A glance toward Quartz and the other lieutenant confirmed that they weren't moving anytime soon; if he stuck around, then conversation would devolve further. What he didn't hear would amount to a blessing.

His blood boiled at the talk of corrupted senshi, promising some kind of debate if the new lieutenant wasn't smart enough to avoid engaging her higher-ups. Was this what it meant to connect with other Negaverse agents? Perhaps it's better to stay a lonely path. The only potential benefit to this operation is taking a shot at a manageable number of White Moon opposition. And that's assuming they don't call in their allies. Standing around and discussing political stances on senshi or alliances that may or may not be in effect are not conducive to success.

"Yes, you're right," Umber ventured after he was certain his voice would not betray his irritation. "I will radio back if I find something." Umber left afterward, taking care to ensure his exit didn't look too abrupt. He darted toward one of the ticket booths, where crouching atop its pinnacle would ensure his appearance was shrouded.

The pair remained submerged for a time, and Ochre started to worry about Xenotime's lung capacity. When the Mirror girl rose, Ochre tried to aim his attack, but she ducked back down over a waterfall drop before he could even start on the words. "s**t," he hissed quietly. A captain behind him encroached on the pair, too, and Ochre spared her a glance. "Is there any way you can teleport ahead? We're not gonna be able to keep up with the way the water's flowing." He huffed raggedly.

"There's no way I can catch up to them now." Peering over the rim of the drop, he spied the two being carried further. "This is already a mess..." Not that he expected to have much fun - since joining the Negaverse, he found a great deal of promise with no delivery. He had powers beyond what he expected, yes, but the powers he wanted held far more edge than these. He'd have easily traded his magic for command over the youma that mauled him more than once. And now he was stuck in an operation he didn't fully understand - he only knew that the blonde had to die, and the pink-haired whiner they kept halfway up was their quick ticket to victory.

And for the amount of agents around, they sure didn't look panicked that this Chariklo was making good time.

Or was this all about the white-wearing ones that were supposed to show up and help her? He didn't know. Asking for orders now seemed pretty pointless, too; most of the officers present didn't seem to have any idea of what to do here. Hell, most of them loitered near the entrance like they had nothing better to do. So where should he be? In the scope of the operation, his existence here was inconsequential.

Then I guess it doesn't matter what I do, does it?

Bolton pushed her hood back until it caught on the black cloth that hid her hair. This let her look more fully at the other Lieutenants. The one in the... jumpsuit? Was it a jumpsuit? It was very... sparkly... anyway, he looked much more like Bolton than the other, who was all brown... leather, maybe, and fringes, and a tattoo on his face. Bolton's eyes widened over her mask and then she looked away, determinedly listening to the others. "My name is Bolton," she said, squirming a little. She didn't have a mineral name, which set her apart--she wasn't sure she liked sticking out--but maybe he wouldn't know. "My captain is Zircon, who serves General Schorl."

She stopped a bit behind Cinnabar, uncertain as to what to do. The question was direct enough. "Of course," she lied, the words coming easily to her lips. "I would never raise a hand to a corrupted senshi." Whatever that was. She would ask Zircon, later. "I know to respect my superior officers." They were all that stood between Bolton and the knights, all that stood between Earth and Castor's threat to raze them all. They would have spared her the loss of her memories if they could. "I will watch," she agreed. Careful brown fingers adjusted her mask. She thought, when is an action said to be supererogatory? and then when it is morally praiseworthy, but not morally obligatory. She would watch, but not just for auras. The Captain ordered. "Where do you want me, Captain?"

From under the water to up in the air, to back down on solid ground, Chariklo felt that she was allowed to be more than a little dazed by how things were going. And what she thought of her little leech who managed to hang on to her was bordering on unlawful and anatomically impossible. And the fingers twined in her hair in the most unsexy way imaginable combined with the knee to her back was simply further insult added to injury.

Grunting in pain as she felt the muscles throughout her back begin to twitch and grab, she staggered back slightly and just happened to glance up. Even in all of the swirling fog and darkness punctuated solely by flashing laser lights, she'd still seen Amytis. A disheveled Amytis. Who was tied to the goddamned tracks like something out of a Dudley Do-Right cartoon. A feeling like something out of a dream filled her mind for a heartbeat. Amytis covered in tar and dead. Amytis gone forever. No. That wasn't going to happen. Chariklo wouldn't let it happen.

Ignoring the pain from her scalp, the tall Dark Mirror roared in fury, twisting under those evil, hateful hands to face the officer who had never been taught to not twist tiger tails. With a berserk strength, she grinned nastily and clamped her own hands down on the woman's wrist and bulled forward. If Bitchy wanted to play rough, oh, they'd play rough. Oh doubtless, she'd end up with some missing hair but hair would grow back. Muscle and bone would heal. All the mattered was shaking this cow off and getting to Amytis.

And wouldn't you know it, she thought. The laser blaster wielding space bear just behind the officer was simply panting to make a new friend. And it looked solid enough to hold up under a blow. Still grinning, Chariklo wondered briefly if her vision was supposed to be red-tinged as she angled her elbow up and slammed it into the officer's chest a scant second before slamming their combined weight into the animatronic. Then, with another roar, she tore herself from the woman's grip and called down her magic to give her the extra time she needed.

"Mobbing Cacophany!" she snarled before diving for the water and leaping in. She didn't need to stick around to watch the woman trying to keep off heavy blows and slashes. Fun as it might have been in other circumstances. And the water felt good on her spasming back and sore scalp. But none of that was going to help her or Amytis. She needed a quiet moment to do what she should have done earlier.

After swimming a little ways ahead, she crawled out on the opposite bank, thankful for the shadows there. It wasn't ideal by a long shot, but it would obscure her long enough.

Pulling out her compact, she desperately thought of every Dark Mirror she knew, hoping that maybe they'd hear her nearly frantic babbles for help. But Leto, ah, Leto was the one who'd get them mobilized.

"Leto," she whispered harshly. "Please see and hear this, please. We need help and Amytis is tied up and... the Geyser! We're in the Geyser! C'mon, Leto, pl..."

Any further words died in her throat as a club came flashing from the darkness to connect with her wrist in a glancing blow. With a dismayed cry, she watched her compact fly into the water and sink.

Scrabbling as quickly as she could, she caught a glimpse of her attacker and realized that this one must have teleported ahead. Because, of course some of them would have thought ahead to be ready for any move she might try. Well, she thought weakly as the club came swinging out again, at least I got part of the message out. Oh, this is going to ******** hurt...

Same as before. In addition to the swarm of buffeting wings, the target will now also feel as if they are being slashed and pecked at with beaks and talons. Able to perform twice per battle and can encompass up to 5 people over a 20ft radius. The target will be able to see the shimmering outline of a wing or beak or taloned foot, but never a full shape. Target is now the happy recipient of bruising and deep, slashing wounds, again all aimed around the shoulders and head area. Attack duration is 45 seconds to 1 minute. And should the target escape that 20' radius, the attack will follow them for about 10 seconds.

- Since I got a call reminding me that I'm expected to stay late at work tonight thanks to the holiday yesterday, the call for help got bumped up by a few hours. Sorry!
- The call is radiating out from Chariklo's compact to any senshi or knights friendly/neutral to the DMC and well as any who can sense the Chaos auras congregating in the Geyser.

A corrupted senshi she didn't know spoke to her of teleporting ahead; it was a sensible thought and Moonstone flashed the red-head a feral smile. "Good idea, senshi. I will go ahead." It was a short jaunt to put herself ahead of the roiling mass that was the General Xenotime and Chariklo. Dark brown eyes caught the Dark Mirror senshi's redoubled efforts and mirror-talking even as she summoned her beloved weapon.

Calling for back up? Won't do you any good. We're going to grind you and anyone that appears into dust and ash. Moonstone knew better than to call out as she attacked, bringing her heavy totem club down with a satisfying thunk, sending the communication device flying into the drink.

The dark haired Captain spun again, bringing her weapon towards Chariklo's ribs, intent to crack them, snap and break the bones if possible - she went for maximum damage, always. "Hello pretty, did you think the General would be your only opponent?" Moonstone was taking so much joy out of the feel of weapon meeting flesh and the pained sounds from the Dark Mirror senshi. She would continue with a flurry of blows, whether they struck true or not at the very least doing so would force Chariklo on the defensive and wear her down further.

AMYTIS IS GETTING MOVED!
-------------------------------------------

While the gather closed in on the first target, General Schörl arrived and stayed near the bait, Barbary hard to her shoulder as a leonine cloak to silence her movement. And there, scripted as could be, one piece of quarry calls the rest.

She took the few steps out of shadows to crouch by the captive's shoulder, looming over her pretty face with smile. "It's time to go. If all goes well, maybe I'll keep you, petalface. "

A hand caressed the Dark Mirror woman's cheek for emphasis on the textural compliment before grabbing and maneuvering under to lift Amytis in a bridal carry. "I have questions needing answers. Bodies like yours could help me find them. We will see. First, we need to gather all the rest. Maybe I'll have a whole bouquet. "

Schörl stood, new burdened, and started in rapid ascent towards the apex of the ride and energy of the first hill, then to beyond, amid the structure itself that was not so obvious, unprotected, or accessible. Tactics wanted cover, limited mobility from those who could not teleport, and limitations to magic from those who might think about what would happen to their precious friend if they brought the structure down. Schörl was going to take her to one of the dip-curves before setting her down again.

Mintaka's hands shook on the mirror compact, and she struggled not to curse or give into dark thoughts.

Her sisters, Her best friends, captured by the negaverse. For what? Because Chari was so against them? And Amytis? She was innocent. The most innocent.

She didn't know where the geyser was, but she was close. She could feel the aura's, clouding together of chaos.

She took a deep breath, calming herself.

Leto, as per usual, was spending her time patrolling with Persephone because Leto was like the poor girl's guard dog. She grumbled under her breath when she felt the usual pull of her compact and summoned it to the palms of her hand. Flipping the small mirror open, Leto's breath caught in her throat at Chariklo's panicked voice.

We need help and Amytis is tied up.

Oh. Hell. No.

"Persephone, go find Damocles. Stay with him," she was facing Persephone with a sort-of terrified desperation in her eyes. "I don't know what's going on but Chariklo needs my help and someone has Amytis and--" she cut herself off, planted a big kiss on the other girl's lips and turned to find the closest mirror. "I love you! Go!"

Leto's walk turned into a hurried run as she pulled out the prepaid disposable cellphone that she carried for contact with her White Moon allies. She hit the speed dial to Castor and ran with the phone to her ear. "Pick up, god damnit Castor answer the ******** phone." With a string of curses, Leto ran through a full-length mirror, through MirrorSpace and out of another mirror at full speed- thankfully, the years of Mirror Walking experience had come in handy.

Finally, the White Moon Senshi answered. "I have two Mirror Senshi that need help. I doubt it's your side, so it's gotta be Negaverse. She said something about a Geyser, I think that's at the new theme park. Help." And without another word, she snapped the flip-phone shut, shoved it under one of her bracers, and hopped over a barricade intended to keep troublesome teens out of the construction site. The message was clear and she was sure Castor would understand that there was no time for chit-chat. She then pulled out her Mirrored Compact and sent a message to any and all Dark Mirror Senshi that were powered up-- "If you're free and able, I need your help. Construction site at the new amusement park, the Geyser. Bring allies, probably not a good idea to involve the Negaverse in this one."

Satisfied with her message, Leto put her compact away and reached out through the amusement park until she felt it- blips of auras, definitively Chaos, all grouped in the faux-mountain nearby. "********," the Senshi of Camouflage muttered before finding the entrance and splashing into the disgusting water. "Chariklo!? Amytis?!" She called out, peering into the darkness that was littered with fog, creepy as s**t music, and blinding strobe lights.

She was sure that her voice echoed through the mountain, and she was sure that the Negaverse would feel her before they heard her. To make her point even more clear, Leto pushed herself past Eternal and into her Princess form. That would either force a group of them to leave Chariklo and tend to her, or it would scare them into fleeing. Either way, the Dark Mirror Royal waded through the cold water barefoot and cursing all the while.

[[Leto is in her Princess form so it is very very obvious that she is there XD Any and all interaction is completely welcome!]]

Megrez felt a peculiar pull of auras from somewhere, though it was too far away for her to determine where exactly it was. There was, however, one closer aura, that of a Dark Mirror Eternal. She bounded towards it, and when she found the source, she stopped cold. "Mintaka?!"

She had tried to rescue Mintaka at the New Year's Eve event and failed. While it was a relief to see that she had not been corrupted to the Negaverse and someone else had saved her, it was a major puzzle as to what she was doing as a Dark Mirror. Something had gone on behind the scenes, clearly, but it was just a huge mystery at this point. "What's... what's going on?" she asked, thoroughly confused.

There was movement behind them -- noises, auric movement they were all trying to track. The Dark Mirror aura of Chariklo, tumbling and splashing along at high speed along with one of their own -- a few others, following -- and then movement with the second Dark Mirror aura, too. That one he understood a little better, because of the second aura accompanying it: his General's aura was the only one familiar enough to be clear as a bell always. He could pick out subtler notes in it like a complex wine -- absinthe, malice, pipe smoke.

Quartz tried to stay generally aware of what was going on behind them. He had a basic understanding that battles could change shape faster than Tam Lin, and that quick adaptation relied on constant readiness. It was hard to be truly constantly ready at night, in the dark, in a strange place . . . but even small effort helped. Anything might improve his odds of not dying.

Well. Almost anything.

The sudden, massive pressure of a Royal's Chaotic aura probably did not improve Quartz's odds of not dying. One of the Dark Mirror's royals was evidently here -- thundering with an auric weight the likes of which he hadn't experienced since General-Queen Laurelite herself.

"Anyway," he said aloud with practiced dryness, willing the fear out of his voice. He pointed toward the source, as best he could pinpoint its direction. "Here's Wonderwall."

His eyes went to Cinnabar. "Orders, Captain?"

Mintaka could feel the dampening push of a royal in the area, knowing for sure that it was Leto. She had never met the princess, but Remarque spoke of her and being a DMC, she was more aware of her court then she had been as order.

If the princess was here, it meant that others would follow. Whenever there was royalty around....

Her head snapped over to the voice, as she played with the compact.

"Megrez!" She dropped to the order eternal, blinking. "Um, My friends. Chari....Amytis. Well two of the dark mirrors are trapped in the negaverse camp here." She rubbed her face, "Th...They could be in a lot of trouble, and I know you probably don't want to get involved but...but I could really use your help again." She twined her hand around her compact again.

"I'm not much of a fighter...but I gotta help them out. They mean so much to me."
