Her eyes widened in surprise as he summoned a bird and gave it orders. She watched as the bird flew off to relay the message to Lihi, who Glitter assumed was to be the recipient of the flowers. After the bird slipped from view Glitter turned back to Nostalion. "That was incredible! Do you command all animals, or just that one? That was great!" She glanced back towards where the bird had disappeared, then shook off her amusement. That mystery could wait for another day. "Ok! Well let's be off then! This way." She smiled and started off towards the hills. It wasn't long before the terrain started to become rougher, less beaten down by regular traffic. The hills became larger and larger until it was more like climbing than walking. Still, despite the effort, it wasn't bad. She suddenly stopped and turned to the stallion. "This is the tricky part." She gestured and pulled back a branch to reveal where the vague trail they'd been following dropped away on either side, leaving a narrow path with large chasms on either side. The wind seemed more intense here as well, but Glitter had crossed a few times before. "It's important not to look down. The wind is gusty, but if you stay calm you won't fall."

“Just my friend, Iona.” Nostalion replies. “And, she doesn’t always listen,” he chuckles. Nostalion idly follows the mare, watching for threats, and occasionally looking for familiar landmarks. The day’s exercise really helps to clear his head, though, and when they finally stop at the chasm, he asks with a smile, “roughly how far across do you think it is?”

She wrinkled her nose in thought as she tried to estimate the distance. "It isn't far, really. Maybe a hundred yards? It looks much worse than it is." She beamed a smile at him before turning away and starting across. "It's just on the other side of this. You can't see them from here, but on the other side there are a couple of large boulders and if you squeeze between them there's this little field just FULL of the most lovely flowers I've ever seen!" She moved with the confidence of one who had made this crossing many times. "Just don't look down, ok?"

“Alright,” still grinning, Nostalion closes his eyes and starts to walk behind her. “Think I can do this with my eyes shut?” Typical of his breed, he has an impeccable sense of balance, however the wind does affect him, and he begins to slip.

She was facing forward, not looking at him, but at his comment she twisted her neck around to say something sarcastic. She swallowed her reply, however, noticing him being to slip. Her eyes popped open and she twisted around the best she could to steady him. "Please don't fall!" She was wavering herself and struggled to keep them both from falling over.

“Ha!” Nostalion exclaims, opening his eyes and, with the mare’s help, abruptly steadies himself. “That was a close one,” he admits, shaking his head. The stallion can’t help but peer down into the yawning chasm. It was a long way down. If he had fallen, he realizes, it was highly unlikely that he would’ve survived. “Thank you, Glitter. That could’ve been bad.” Nostalion states the obvious. His leafy mane rustles as another gentle breeze blows over the narrow path. With his eyes open, this time, he is firmly planted.

Pandora Talie so sorry for the waaaait omg Her eyes were wide as she followed his gaze down the chasm. Perhaps this was a bad way to go? She hesitated a moment, deciding if they should perhaps go back. They were so close, however and since the disaster was averted, what's the harm in continuing? She perked up and smiled at him.
"Well at least the hard part is over?" She turned and continued across, glancing back often to make sure her companion kept his footing.

Nostalion trots along behind his savior and guide, with care and grace, this time. “Hopefully,” he replies with a bashful smile. “How much farther is it?”
