The mountain maze, Maple was so happy to find herself in it and out of the forest. One of those points in the journey when you know you have made progress and were almost there. There were just the traps she was so keen on setting off. Especially those axes. And then the snakes that she had finally managed to see.
There was also that giant fire creature that chased unsuspecting victims. The one that was now coming from her. Maple let out a loud sob and ran for her life, and of course dropped half of her food in the process.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 7?/28 YOUR HP: 50/50

The lose of her horse - twice - made the trek up the mountain a little more worrisome. Food supplies were much lower than they tended to be. Despite her efforts to preserve some of it, the run in with the fire creature made it dwindle nearly to nothing until not even a crumb was left. Maple feared for the worst, she was once again going to get to the summit without food and thus fail once again. A repeated action.
There was hope, somehow though, someone looking down upon her. Maybe even that kind old man just hanging in the snow. Maple nearly burst into tears and threw her arms around the odd stranger when he offered her just enough food for her to survive the rest of the journey. He spoke nothing of it as he let her on her way.
