Was anyone's interest piqued by the Crimson Peak trailer? It's got creature designs by Guillermo Del Toro (all bow down and worship), Tom Hiddleston in the role of either a villain or a tool (couldn't really decide from what the trailer gave me), Mia Wasikowska (from multiple Tim Burton movies) as a ghost-chasing paranormal researcher, and loads of Victorian fodder for history addicts such as myself. To me, it seemed like a Jane Austin novel gone awesomely wrong and I really would like to see it this Halloween. Still, maybe it's just the fanboy inside of me who wants this movie to be great. After all, it's got three or more of my favorite things in it.

Yes! I am very excited for this movie~! It ticks a lot of my boxes too, haha. I loved Mia Wasikowska in Jane Eyre so I think it will be fun to see her in a similar setting but under very different circumstances. TOROOO movies yess, beautiful, scary and with wonderful twists. It looks like a very interesting and entertaining movie, and even if it fails at those two things, it will definitely be pretty. Much looking forward to it's release.

Technically, it was Konami that canceled it due to Kojima's leaving the company. Del Toro has stated that he hates the fact that Silent Hills won't happen, especially considering the enthusiasm from gamers when P.T. came out, and still wants to use his and Kojima's ideas for a future collaboration if at all possible.

I'm going to get my big sister to watch the movie with me. :3 She and I both are dedicated horror fans and steampunk nerds, so this film is right up our alley.

Oh yeah, I know! And I honestly don't doubt Kojima for leaving. From what I understand he wasn't being treated well at all--its just sad.

Mad Max, in my opinion was an awesome!! The guys kicked butt, the girls kicked butt, the plot was actually almost non-existent but so important at the same time. It was really well put together, the costumes and make up were very well done as well. I haven't seen the other Mad Max films either but I really want to now to compare them or see if they link together. If you want an action movie I highly recommend this, I almost want to see it in theaters again because I found it to be ubber hype~! The best thing about it was they stayed consistent with Mad Max being, well you know, mad! Multiple times during the film he is seen hallucinating, or however you would put it, it's just so nice to have that in movies nowadays: consistency.

Heeyy

I've put the warnings in spoilers just in case!

Since everybody is Mad Max crazy, I figured I'd say what I thought of the originals, or at least whether or not they are worth watching.

Firstly~! You can totally start from the original Mad Max movie, totally, totally, but honesssttllyy it's just... reaallyy.. dull. I had trouble staying awake and maintaining any interest. There are some cool stunts and whatnot, but otherwise it's a pretty poor movie. The only interesting part is the last 20 minutes or so. Of course it's worth a go trying to watch if you wanna, but personally it was kind of a disappointment after getting all excited. Max wasn't very mad in this movie.
I guess it kind of gives you the reason why Max is supposedly mad? But doesn't personally feel very necessary or live up to the hype.
There are a few icky scenes
implied rape, child death

The story gets 100% better in the second film, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. The actual 'end of the world' thing gets introduced at the beginning, as well as a handy summary of the previous movie.
Still not the best movie in the world, but it a marked improvement. Interesting characters and even some character development. Max is visibly mad.
This movie does include some very gross scenes
rape at the beginning
though depicted in a bad light, still pretty uncomfortable.
Here's a cool thing about this movie;
there is a nameless female character that I assumed was going to get saved and then Max would sleep with her in some sweaty badly shot scene but instead she just continues to pop up every now and then looking beautiful and bad a** (she does die in a kind of anticlimactic way, but then most of the deaths are pretty anticlimactic in this film). So that's kinda cool for a movie made in the 80s?

Mad Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome is really great! A really fun movie. Uncomfortable scenes include
child death, abuse and murder of disabled people, animal death

You might initially think there are some continuity problems, but it turns out they are just reusing actors with similar roles to the first movie. Mad Max baby sits and is decidedly mad about it.

I wouldn't have thought that I would see much of the new movie in the old ones but 2 and especially 3 really give off a similar feeling. I'm very curious as to why people were upset about the newer movie having Max take a support role because although he definitely does more in the other movies, they don't feel like HIS movie, it's always for the benefit of a DIFFERENT group of character's development that he is introduced, and this has been carried on so well in the new movie.

I hope I worded that okay and it's not too confusing.

TLDR;

IT'S TOTALLY NOT NECESSARY TO WATCH THEM TO ENJOY THE NEWEST MOVIE, but some of them are worth a watch~!

MAD MAX = too slow, Max not mad enough. Watch if you wanna, but wont kill the story not to.

MAD MAX 2 = Better! Fun to watch, Max is pretty damn mad.

MAD MAX 3 = Very cool~! Lots of fun, Max is mad and attempts to dad.

MAD MAX 4 = AWESOME! Max is crazy mad and attempts to dad again.
