As Ouen set to listing off the things that Mano was good at the Matori man had the decency to blush a little. It wasn't as though he wasn't aware of his strong points, but to hear them all listened off in such a manner was enough to even fluster Mano a bit. After a moment he gave a chuckle, "Hmm, you make me sound pretty good, pretty eyes. The way you make it out to be I am the sort that anyone would be happy to bring home to meet their parents." Though given Mano's nature he was sure to flirt with said parents upon meeting them, so it might be an enjoyable strange sort of meeting indeed. Not that Mano minded strange... in fact he enjoyed it.

Giving his trident a glance before looking back he told Ouen, "I will be honest with you, pretty eyes, since I feel I can. I actually haven't done much in the way of fighting with my trident. I go fishing a lot with it, as well as use it to look like a strong, sexy warrior sort for the ladies, but not much fighting. A scuffle with a couple angry boyfriends, sure, but that's about it." He grinned, looking as though he wasn't really bothered at all that he'd gotten into such fights. Why be upset? It was all well deserved after all.

Giving the weapon that Ouen had he asked, "How about you? You do more in the way of real battling then me?" The Shifter seemed to be a really strong sort, definitely the sort that caught Mano's eye in many more ways then one. His interest in fighting seemed to fizzle out though as Ouen set to removing his armor, making him wondering what it was that he was up to. He was being quite forward undressing like that... not that Mano minded in the least bit. Giving a grin he said, "Something sweet to snack on, eh?" Did he mean himself? There was a moment where Mano hoped so... though given he was heading toward the trees he'd assume not? Pushing to his feet he followed along after Ouen, a curious look on his face.

The jungle was dark now, glowing as it usually did from within. Ouen seemed to have no trouble navigating it, despite the thick tangle of roots underfoot. He spoke easily as he walked, his eyes on the canopy above his head.

“Yeah, I been in some fights.” He shrugged. “Sometimes you just gotta fight, y’know, to protect whatcha got. I don’t mean that everyone’s gotta fight, of course, there’s lots of other important jobs worth doin’, but… well, if you don’t fight, someone else gotta fight for you. So that’s what I’ll do. For myself, an’ for the folks I stand by.”

He seemed to spot what he was looking for, and leapt up into the branches without much effort. Without his armor he was almost as spry as he had been as a child, and in moments he returned with several ripe fruits tucked into his sash. He didn’t wait to return to their campfire – he was just as comfortable here in the dark of the jungle, anyhow, and Mano looked rather fetching in the phosphorescent glow. His skin shimmered like something precious, and Ouen felt an odd sort of twist in his stomach at the sight.

He broke one of the fruits open with slender but strong fingers, purple-pink juices immediately dripping down from his hand. One half he gave to Mano – the other he kept for himself, lifting it to his lips and taking a sweet bite.

“How d’you like it?”

Fight to protect what one had? That had a nice ring to it. He couldn't say that he exactly had anything of his own to protect... he had some brothers somewhere, as well as parents, but where they were he didn't know. After the war against Oba, after he'd been freed by his Master, he'd been unable to find them. He'd traveled a good distance but without much in the way of luck when it came to finding them making him fear the worst. He wanted to find them, wanted his family back, but it wasn't as though the world was so merciful. Giving Ouen a smile he said, "I think I will follow your example if I am able to find something worth protecting."

Coming to a stop Mano watched as Ouen set to climbing up the tree as though it were nothing at all. He was able to get from the ground to where the fruit was located in waht felt like no time at all. Giving a whistle he called up to Ouen, "That was amazing, pretty eyes! You continue to impress me time and again." As he returned with the fruit, offering half to him, he gave a smile and a nod, "My thanks." With that he took a bite of the fruit he'd been given, giving a purring delight. He'd never had this sort of fruit before and now that he had he was almost positive that he was going to be craving from here on out. It was better then anything he'd had recently.

As he was asked if he liked it he gave a nod, answering between bites, "How do I like it? It's amazing!"

shenanigans!

They stood in the luminescent dark of the forest, eating fruit and exchanging smug grins. Ouen still felt a bit light-headed from the tirade of compliments that slipped past Mano’s lips every time the man spoke. And gosh, he knew he shouldn’t think that much of it (he’d been climbing trees since before he could walk, after all, so there was nothing remarkable about his proficiency), but… Mano just made it all sound so good.

He felt sort of giddy. He felt almost drunk, come to think of it, even though he hadn’t so much as seen a bottle in days.

“It’s amazing.” Mano was saying, finishing off his half of the fruit and looking up at him with those warm, golden eyes. The man’s earlier words played back in Ouen’s head – his reaffirmation that he would fight like Ouen, if he ‘found something worth protecting’. He got the drift – Mano didn’t have much. He had his trident, his charisma, and the ever-so-useful skill of finding food whenever he was at arms’ reach of the water.

And gosh, that made Ouen like him all the better. Who needed anything else, really?

He dropped the fruit-skin he was holding and stepped forward, taking hold of the man’s hips and pushing in for a short but sticky-sweet, fruit-scented kiss.

“Jeez,” He grinned after. “I really kinda like you.”

Mano was just finishing up the piece of fruit that Ouen had given him, tossing the skin of it away in the opposite direction of his camp, and turned back to the pretty Shifter. As he did he was finding himself admiring the changes that the moonlight had brought about in him. He'd heard about it, the way that Shifters changed colors, but until meeting with Ouen he'd never seen it in person, and it was amazing. The way his skin turned to a bright color so similar to the moon itself, his eyes darkening, and his tattoo which had been amazing before only looking that much better. Giving a soft whistle he murmured, "You're really quite beautiful in the moonlight, aren't you, pretty eyes?"

A moment after he gave the compliment he found Ouen stepping closer to him, pressing close, and gave him a kiss that was sweet in more ways then one. It had Mano's smile brightening, his eyes sparkling, "Wow, that was nice." He said, flushing a bit when Ouen proclaimed that he 'really kinda liked him' which were words that were music to Mano's ears. Giving a smile he said, "I think I 'really kinda like you' too, pretty eyes... no, Ouen." He made sure to purr out the man's name before he lifted an arm, cupping the back of the man's head, pulling him in for another kiss. This was exactly how Mano enjoy spending his time, meeting and getting close to the various beauties around the world. Ouen though, he was something else, something different then those he'd met to this point, and one he wouldn't mind spending a night or two with... provided of course the cutie was interested.

Drawing back Mano gave the Shifter a grin and said in an inviting manner, "It's getting late, as well as dark, you should stay the night with me, Ouen."

well, they ain't gonna be doing anything PG tharr, so... hope this ending's ok? o 3 o

Mano had responded without protest -- Ouen could almost feel the man’s smile across his lips, golden eyes shining through the darkness. And Ouen hadn’t really expected him to make a fuss, really. The guy was just so easy-going, so relaxed… everything felt easy with him, free and natural and without needless restraint or awkward formalities. Jeez, Ouen had know the guy for what, a handful of hours? And he felt like he was facing a lifelong partner in crime.

“Thas’ good.” He grinned when the water earthling mimicked his words, half-teasing but still genuine as far as Ouen could tell. They pulled in for another kiss and Mano’s fingers made him shiver as they brushed over the short-cropped hairs on the back of his neck.

“Yeah, it is mighty late.” Ouen smirked into the darkness when they had let each other go, just long enough to speak. “An’ plenty dark. I sure wouldn’t wanna spend a night like this alone.”

In a way, that was utter nonsense. Ouen was as comfortable in the dark jungle as he was in his own home (probably because it was his own home). But it wasn’t a lie. He really had no desire to spend this night alone… not when there were alternate options available. He winked and hooked his arm around Mano’s waist, leading them back to the dim warmth of the fire.

* * *

They spent the night together, and then the whole lazy stretch of the next day. They did nothing in particular and just about everything they could think of. They chatted about whatever came to mind, wandered along the beach and caught more fish for eating (or, well, Mano caught fish, and Ouen watched in admiration). The night came and they spent that together too, curled up under the clear starlight.

Then finally, on the second day, they packed up to say their goodbyes. They both had things to do and places to see, and it seemed to Ouen that the sooner they got that over with, the sooner they could find each other again.

“I’ll track you down soon ‘nough, I figure. Ain’t gonna be hard to find a fellow like you. You just stay safe, eh? An’ if anyone gets to threatenin’ you, just… y’know, don’t tell ‘em that the only thing you use your trident for is fishin’. They don’t need’ta know.”

Thanks for the epic RP <3

His time spent with Ouen, a wonderful two days worth, was likely some of the best that Mano had enjoyed for quite a while now. It had been some time since he'd spent longer then a few hours with any one person, seeming to be on his own more then he was with others. It wasn't something that sat well with Mano since he was quite a social person, though at the same time he was the sort that liked to be on the move. Following the coastline of Jauhar had become a great love of his and it had allowed him to meet many interesting people so far. It had it's lonely moments, but all of that made this meeting that much more special in Mano's mind. All good things had to end though and after a couple days with his new found friend Ouen needed to be on his way. Understandable though, he had a life outside of Mano's beachside camp.

"Visit any time you like, pretty eyes. I will always welcome you will open arms and a warm meal. I might not be right here, but I mean to continue my trip along the beach. I will be heading in that direction, so if you need for anything, and I mean anything, that is where you will likely find me." He said, pointing in the direction that he would be going once he'd packed up camp. Mano gave a happy sound and a nod, finding it rather cute that it seemed Ouen was worried about him. The Shifter was telling him to stay safe and not to let others bully him, word he took to heart, "You stay safe as well, you can't very well come spend more time with me if anything happens to you." After sharing one last kiss with the Shifter he let him go on his way, back into the world outside of the beach.

The moment that Ouen was gone though everything seemed a bit too quiet for him, causing him to begin the task that was packing up. He'd move on now, find a new place to set up camp, and see what new wonders he could find.
