The general hadn't immediately responded to the curse, momentarily busy, but once the crystal was gone those cool silver eyes lowered to the young man on the floor. For just a second there was nothing. No warmth, no fondness, no regret, no anger. Nothing to say she felt anything at all about what was happening. Then she was sinking down to crouch beside his foot, and a gentle hand on his ankle would cease any further attempts to retreat, however futile. There was a subtle tilt of her head as she watched him, features boarding on thoughtful. "The pain doesn't last." And this was nothing to the agony that had come with her promotion to general. "It's the price we pay for power. You'll see." When it was over he'd feel better, energized. Ready to take on the world, and everyone in it. She would teach him. Assuming his brother didn't strike him dead the moment they returned to the apartment. Further reassurances would have to wait, cut short by the arrival of Laurelite. Xenotime gave Slate's ankle a small squeeze before getting back to her feet to face the general-queen. A respectful do off her head followed the greeting, the corners of dark lips ticking up in a budding smile. "Not at all. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated." Silver eyes dropped to the cat. "And you as well." She didn't have much experience with guardian cats. Xenotime's gaze returned to Slate as Laurelite's did. "His starseed feels different." Nothing she'd laid her hands on in the past, and she'd reached into numerous chests throughout her time with the Negaverse. The confirmation of what he was came as no really surprise. She gave a soft hum of acknowledgement to Katya, but her attention was all for Slate and the general-queen, eager to see fit herself hour corrupted senshi came into being.

He found it incredibly, deeply, impossible wrong, simply incorrect that this single woman and her cat appeared with no prior notice and no prior effort. It proved so utterly impossible to his mind that he wondered if she was simply there the entire time and he hadn't noticed through the pain and suffering that still wormed its way from heart to fingertips. But he could not, no matter his willpower, stop staring at her for this sudden intrusion on his basic principles of understanding the fundamental universe. It felt like something out of a horror movie that was actually frightening - without any pomp or circumstance about it, this woman would break his intellectual understandings for physics and that consumed him with a certain trepidation.
All the more he wanted to get away from her now, but Xenotime employed a vice-like grip on his ankle that probably would've crushed it if she added any more pressure. The youth still attempted his scramble across the floor, and found no more progress than he did earlier. Not that it mattered - he continued to question his own sanity when the cat from the woman's arms dropped to the floor and spoke.
Hastily he started to wrack his brain for any beverages he might've had that said 'Drink Me' on it.
The cat evidently knew Porsha's other name, and rambled on about senshi. He recognized the term 'awakening' for what it meant by Camelot, but his suspicions that this was a terrible idea could grow no further. By now, it was fact- and that fact was looking him in the eyes in a very prim and demure way. All eyes remained on him, it seemed, as if he were the star of some insipid show. The meta-influence of that show grew when the audience became the participants and determined the fate of the actor.
"It's not too late to say no, right? I mean, she just violated the laws of physics like it's nothing, you have a talking cat, and I'm pretty sure what you just did to me qualifies as rape. I mean there's no hole there to penetrate but you somehow did it and I don't know how I'm alive and I'm pretty sure this needs to stop like five minutes ago can you let me go now please?" He fought the tears, but his throat was rent with razor wire.

Laurelite cocked her head at the boy, perhaps stirred by his words. After a second, she spoke. "You know not of what you speak, but I will forgive you. Because," she moved to stand in front of them and then crouched, herself. She reached out one hand to stroke his hair. "You are afraid and ignorant. But I will teach you strength and courage, and one day you will be something great. You will not disappoint me." It was a promise, and an order. "You will leave here, tonight, worry not. You will leave here stronger, and better than you ever were before. You will leave with the gift of power and skills you could only dream of. So do not cry. One day, you will look back and remember this night fondly. Because this is the night your life truly begins. So, stand. And accept my blessing." She stood, and held a hand out to him as if to help him up. "I will warn you only once, though, should your fear still puppet you: Do not run from me. I will always catch you." It was not a threat. Only another promise.

"I'm not just any cat." She stated while trying to puff herself up, though it wasn't the easiest of thigns being that she wasn't as fluffy as some other cats out there. But she did her best. "I am Katya." Nose in the air for a moment before she moved to nose the soon to be corrupted senshi. Seeking to comfort the scared young man who would soon be one of hers. "Do not worry, you will make us all proud." She was sure of it, he would make them proud as he served the Negaverse. "The power you will have - who would say no to it?" She questioned with a curiosity coloring her words before her attention was on the General Queen.
"He will do well, he will not fail." She sought to assure the mint haired woman who had brought her here. But even as she did that the guardian cat moved to rub against the scared young man. She didn't want any of her children to be scared, especially when they were getting such a gift! Tail flickering and moving against the other she rubbed her head against him purring loudly.
"You best stand and do as she says. It won't hurt for long, I promise you." She knew it would hurt, how could it not? But it would not last long and for the power he would get it was worth it - all of it. "You can go home after this."

"Oh sweetheart." The general turned on a toe, dropping once again beside Slate to lay gentle hands on his cheeks. "Hush now." She touched a thumb to his lips, a gentle deterrent to any further protests. It wasn't his fault, he didn't yet know the gift they were giving him. It would all be clear so very soon, he just needed patience and nerve. "Not another word. It will be over soon, and then we can go home." She'd smile then, and now there was warmth and fondness to it, though that softness never quite reached her eyes, not even as she leaned in to lay a kiss on his lips. Then she was standing again, drawing him with her. Once on his feet, her hands slipped from his face, a soft brush along his neck as she walked around him and lay that gentle, vice-like grip on his shoulders. Over his shoulder she watched the cat, Katya, as she circled Slate's feet, rubbing along his shins, and purring reassurances. Xe offered her own, leaning into his back as one hand slid from his shoulder to drape across his chest. Holding him, and holding him.

Moving away from the scene, not wanting to get in the way, Katya would have stayed to watch but she knew what was going to happen. She also knew this one...this one wasn't to be one of hers. This one wouldn't be under her General's command so would not be one of hers. She left, silently on small paws, but behind she left a transformation pen for the one who would be corrupted tonight.
She had places to be and more things to do - she was a busy kitty.
(Exit posting so I can call this done for me.)
