"You think we will?" A'ri echoed, leading the dance with a bit of flourish, "Maybe I should check them out... do they trade much? What's the strangest thing you've encountered there?" Oh but she was full of questions, curious about these new people.

------

Lyrieth caught sight of the billowing form that was Sarai and gave his rider a nudge as the woman approached, A collection of sails nears. She looks excited to me.

Indeed, she drew up close and exclaimed her approval of Lyrieth. Shiloh smiled at that, suspicious of the woman's opening greeting, "I wouldn't call him a razor maw. He was provoked on the Sands, not deliberately vicious." Shiloh glanced at Lyrieth then knelt and hauled the dragon up into her arms, his wings splayed and his hind legs hanging, "I've certainly learned that."

Lyrieth, in the meantime, was content to be shown off, allowing his mood to swing around to irritated before back to pleasant, the colours of his eyes whirling briefly through red and orange before returning to blue-green. This woman liked viciousness he estimated, enjoyed a bit of sadistic glee if her comments where any indication. You don't need to be coy with this one, I don't think... acknowledge the injuries I've caused.

Shiloh glanced at Lyrieth then smiled, her pride in him obvious as she did so, "But I won't deny he'll kick butt and take names if the need arises. Not sure of our future plans yet, really. What's your name? Do you have any pointers?"

Lyrieth squirmed then, growling a bit (though he did mostly for show), and Shiloh set him down again, Well done. See what she has to offer. He returned his attention to his tiny green sister then, making sure she didn't feel as thought he'd forgotten about her.

Seragee and Blue Vermellath

Finding Seragee wasn't much of a problem, it was just a matter of having Fang swoop above over people's heads until he spotted the pair.

Alerted to the location of his former squire C'tis shouldered his way through the crowd with a goblet of wine in one hand and a plate of food in the other, mostly roasted meat but with some of that fantastic pie for variety.

As he drew close to Seragee C'tis let out a sharp whistle to catch his attention and then offered the young weyrling a grin as he closed the last of the distance between them. "I'm going to have to find myself a new boot boy again now; congratulations. Are you going to introduce me to your bondmate?" The hatchling was a funny looking little thing close up but healthy looking too and that was all that actually mattered.

Sarai chuckled grinning brightly at the girl, not put off by the scars. “True, but I have my own razor maw. I’m Sarai, my gal is Vespeth, and she and your new bonded certainly have some things in common considering how they came into the world. Bit of a right shame on that chaos but then, that rider.” She clicked her tongue at his idiocy.

“Though it looks like you are both doing well, sometimes it takes a bit of doing to accept a hatching with a bloody back ground, some people beat themselves up over it.” She paused and laughed. “Pointers are dig deep because you have a long way to go, lovely. You might not have the same gender bias that I dealt with back when I impressed but it’s still there and your dragon color and size are going to be things you are going to have to work beyond.”

“Though, have either of you been up close to a time dragon? I can let you examine Vesp if you care to. She’s on the largest size, well for her time, but it will give you an idea what your bondmate going to grow into... plus a few feet."

=======================================================

With food, bath, and a good oiling and other bath because oil was sticky and they sort of got it everywhere. Lex was down an arm, Sylvarath wished to help, putting oil on the floor and rolling in it to get it done faster did not work. Just made the floor slippery and might have been the reason for bath number two. Not that he would admit it.

But feast, food, possibly get to dance with someone pretty, if he could pursued them too, arm in a sling didn’t really proclaim elegant dance partner. Lex settled on a bench settling his plate of goodies on his legs and Sylvarath at his side and the blue was tiny (compared to the last hatching) and beautiful and full of boundless energy. “You can go visit your siblings if you want.” Lex poked through his plate before finding what he wanted, spicy meatballs and almond sauce.

Sylvarath perked up, finding his feet quickly and looking out across the crowd and alighted on his brother Vermellath.

“Go on.” Lex replied and grinned, watching Sylvarath hightail it towards his rather lumpy looking sibling.

Lex snorted, warmth and bubbly laughter floating through him and a glimmer of steel and decided Sylvarath would be fine, what the worse that could happen?

'He and I are the best of matches," Kakuseith proudly declared. 'I know how to pick 'em.'

As the two hatchlings conversed here and there, Nimian just found himself watching, entranced by the pair of them. Dragons would never cease to amaze him, no matter what. He only snapped back to reality thanks to Shiloh's words about the unbonded hatchlings, and his thoughts immediately went back to Lyrieth and Hunath. Both of them had been quite vicious, and he wasn't sure if it was just due to the fact that they were unbonded. Perhaps it was personality, too? He wasn't so sure.

"I reckon it will take some getting used to," he said, fondly reaching down to brush his fingers against his green's head nubs. "Or maybe it will always be somewhat of an odd feeling; I don't know." He agreed with her in that Impressing was good. He couldn't have been happier, if he was being honest. "If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go congratulate Seragee and his bonded again!"

With that, he gave a wave of his hand to Shiloh and departed from her side, all while giving Kakuseith a gentle mental nudge to follow along. The tiny green toddled along behind, waddling somewhat on her little legs as the pair of them walked over to another bonded blue pair. Vermellath, however, compared to Lyrieth, was all lumps and bumps. Kakuseith didn't seem to mind this, however, and she playfully wiggled her tail when she got close to her clutchmate.

'A good choice,' she told him, as they came up on the pair. 'Everyone is so good at picking their bonded! I'm happy; now we just have to match the dragonriders with one another, I think.'

While Kakuseith chatted away, Nimian smiled somewhat shyly at Seragee. "Congrats again," he murmured, not wanting to interrupt his discussion with C'tis. If he and his squiremaster were going to talk, he could leave them be, so as to not interrupt, if that's what Seragee wanted.

Lyrieth tilted his head to listen to Sarai as she spoke when she implied he had something in common with Vespeth. Kakuieth and her rider wandered off almost immediately and he crooned at her in farewell, a melancholy sound as if her parting was the most terrible thing. He would miss her!

When she was gone, however, his razor-sharp focus shifted back to Sarai. Shiloh blinked as the woman implied she might be feeling guilty over what happened and shook her head, "Why would I be guilty? It was not my fault, the girl that Impressed the Gold should have known better, and the Rider... don't even get me started." She scoffed, "He could do with some re-training."

Lyrieth rumbled at the bit about gender and colour bias, clearly unfazed by the warning. Shiloh wasn't as confident, "I know I can count on Lyrieth, others though... I've long been used to dealing with people who look down upon me." She smiled.

"Ah, no, actually."

There is no need to see Vespeth now... we can see her later, learn about her and Hers, Lyrieth replied, watching Sarai with wide eyes.

Shiloh agreed and shook her head, "I would like that, but another time? It's the Feast and I'd like to mingle some, honestly. We'll come find you."

“Some people do, it depends on people character if they feel sorry for what their dragon had done before they impressed.” Sarai snorted, lips rippling in amusement. “That rider was a blasted wherson and a major dimglow.” She flicked a hand and nodded. “Well, just ask about for me in the fifth wing. I’ll attempt to introduce you to my Wingleader if he isn’t busy.” She looked over and beamed. “And I have somewhere else to be, tata.”

Sarai moved on, heading towards Seragee it congratulate him and keeping an eye out for the new queen rider.

“They treat their men like women” M’ere said brightly, letting A’ri lead - it was easier then trying to wrest control from her, a business that could only lead to standing on each other’s toes and she really wasn’t interested in d**k-waving tonight.

“Really! And there aren’t half as many men as there should be, though I can’t see why, it’s not like they’re murdering babies or anything. And they don’t have any dragons whatsoever, but thread burrows don’t seem to gain a hold at all there, and no-one’s figured out why but I’m sure it’s going to be very, very important, because can you imagine? And they have an awful amount of firelizards, so I expect someone will be exporting those soon and the market will crash, but I can't really see what else they have that's of real value”

Seragee and Blue Vermellath

Seragee hadn't been standing there long when a female rider came up and clapped him on the shoulder heartily. He was a bit startled by the sudden salutations and nodded awkwardly. "Thank you!" he replied to the rider he wasn't familiar with. He needed to congratulate the new riders of Vermellath's clutchmates too. The new rider glanced at the blue leaning against his thigh. "We might not be much to look at ma'am, but we're both sturdy." He gave a lopsided grin.

It wasn't much time before the one person he wanted to see the whole weyr showed up. Seragee gave a proud grin as C'tis came into view. He might have straightened his back a smidgen, but surely no one would notice. The new weyrling gave a quick bow. "I'm positive you can find another." He gave a grin. "C'tis meet Vermellath, Vermellath meet my mentor C'tis."

Vermellath for his part leaned firmly against his rider and regarded all the people flocking to his rider with suspicion. What really interested him was anything shiny that anyone happened to be wearing. Finally as someone passed closer, the blue made a snap to steal the object.

In the middle of the conversation, a rogue mini blue came racing over. He blinked startled by the lone baby dragon. "Who is that?" Seragee asked of no one in particular. No one was setting up a fuss, so he had to guess that the rider was about somewhere. He glanced at his lumpy blue as if inquiring if Vermellath wanted to join his clutchmate.

He grinned as he spotted the candidate who stood beside him during the hatching and his new dragon. "Nimian! Congrats man. Sorry I didn't get a chance to say so earlier. This is Vermellath. Who's your little darling?" Seragee was pleased the other candidate had also impressed to a mini dragon. It seemed he had lucked out and a large group was starting to form around him and his blue.

The blue arched his neck and pulled his head back to eye all those now gathering. Vermelleth watched as several of his siblings came over. Greetings Sylvarath and Kakuseith, he greeted the others of his clutch, allowing his rider to hear the names as the blue then green joined them. They didn't really have anything he wanted, but he was polite to both and positively chivalrous to the green. She was a lady even if she might never have hatchlings.

His mind was fair to whirling when yet another rider came over. He accepted Sarai's congratulations graciously. "Thank you." His eyes glances briefly toward the food tables. Soon enough he'd get away and help himself before this feast was over.

Kialynka

She passed by the table and filched a couple sweets into her mouth before continuing on through the crowd. Kia passed near a group clustering around the blue that would certainly never get first place in a beauty contest. "Tidbits sirs, ma'ams?"

A'ri snorted, she saw no reason to treat the genders differently - people were people, if they did the job what did it matter was between their thighs? Her attention snapped back to the present as M'ere mentioned something about Thread not taking hold, "What? I hope somebody's looking into that or by the first egg, somebody's going to get throttled. Do they send their men off somewhere? Maybe they're like the dragons..." She waved at the assembled group, "Y'know, where the women are more common then everybody else and the men are like golds - rare as can be?"

The thought was so ridiculous! She chuckled and spun M'ere as the song came to a close, dipping her back into a long line, hand splayed in the small of her back. "Anybody looked into resources like wood or herbs that'd be good for healing? Fast-growing crops? That sort of stuff would be useful in aiding disaster areas."

---------------------
Shiloh and Lyrieth watched as a group was gathering around the ugly, brutish blue with interest. He seemed to collect admirers... Lyrieth trilled thoughtfully, Perhaps he would be useful in the long run... to manage the opinions of others?

He looked up at his rider, who shrugged, Maybe... I'm not sure. And I'm content not falling in with the crowd. She preferred to observe anyway, and watching the group interact was greatly informative. The older rider was clearly of importance, with the way Vermellath's rider deferred to him, but the others only appeared to be congratulating him while making the rounds.

We should go over. Lyrieth's tone was honeyed and seductive, the sort of voice he used when he wanted something and Shiloh very nearly gave a shrug of acquiescence before catching herself.

No. Her answer was firm, a mental planting of her foot that Lyrieth snorted at - it was a wasted opportunity he thought. She eyed him, Weren't we over here to speak to the Wingsecond?

Ah! Yes! Lyrieth perked up again, turning his conniving attention back to the dancers. He trotted over towards them, cooing at anyone who seemed to want to give him attention.

“Oh”

Well, now R’soua knew who that man from the stands was, beyond that he was one of the wingseconds.

(in her head, she had labelled him J’erk)

She grinned at the weyrlings, then sauntered away, intending to be somewhere that wasn’t this sudden knot of people and tiny dragons.

===

“That’s not my area!” M’ere laughed, squeaking as A’ri dipped her. She wasn’t even sure if riders would be allowed to take it, or if they’d have to buy it, or… well, she wasn’t responsible for this legal stuff. “Maybe they are dragon people, I don’t know! They definitely don’t have flights, though…!”

Her grin was a terrible thing.

[C'tis]

C'tis chose to ignore the tall ugly girl who'd stuck her nose into his oh-so-friendly chat with Z'fer at the hatching, though he did smirk a little when she slunk off.

"I'm sure I can but you kids take a long time to train," he continued to Seragee with a grin and then a nod to Vermellath. "Nice to meet you Vermellath - but you can keep your teeth away from my sword! - you chose well." As he spoke he waved his hand to discourage the hatchling from going for the golden pommel again; if most people tried that on they would end up severely bollocked at best but Vermellath was hours old so he got a little leeway. Who knew, perhaps the blue could even get Seragee to give up his stubborn hangups around violence, if he could do that he was sure they'd make a combat wing.

Poecai (P'cai) and Goliath

cooed Goliath from the outskirts. The giant blue peered in as best he could, trying to glimpse the adorable, tiny little things.

she said to him, taking a very generous portion of the food and settling in a nice spot to work on eating it,

She shook her head at the surge of happiness from her still-young bonded. It was so easy to make Goliath happy. He'd been so excited when the eggs were hatching, his humming permeated with glee, joy, and pride. Nothing, not even angry hatchlings, had spoiled his good mood which had lasted for days, and showed no sign of dissipating.

And, of course, what made Goliath happy would, inevitably, leak over to... well, she supposed she needed to get used to thinking of herself as P'cai soon.

Vesresh

Esre had been fortunate to avoid being on the terrible camping trip and, aside from the illness that had swept the weyr, he had actually had a great candidacy... until the mauling in the stands. He was glad that he hadn't impressed, and that the dragons hadn't even looked his way. He'd known hatchings were dangerous, he'd just... he hoped the rider was all right.

He slunk into the party, uncertainly seeking out any familiar faces that he could. Nersha was surely busy, but Vosin might be at the party, or... someone else he knew. His skin became clammy beneath the dressy clothing (and, yes, the islander jewlery that his sister had given him) that he had attempted to wear, and he looked about him with nervous green eyes. He'd settle for anybody he knew at this point. He wanted to be here but... not alone.

((Looking for Vosin, Nersha, fellow candidates, and new weyrlings that aren't surrounded by massive knots of people. Time-displaced people work too))
