 Henrietta was terrified. She had been mostly staying inside the carnival to help render aid for those who were brought back to camp, or managed to stagger back themselves. The only time she'd gone out at personal risk to herself was to find Venezia's own daughter, who she'd indeed found wounded outside the gates. But now that the cursed were roaming free inside the carnival, she'd been almost too scared to go out of her tent and find wounded, which were increasingly being found inside as well as outside. She steeled herself though, knowing her fellow carnies and their allies needed her help, and the Jester snuck between tents, peering out for any wounded. She found one soon enough, a werecat, and realizing it was one of the hellhound followers who were aiding them, scurried over to his side. The poor thing was bleeding badly, but she was afraid to move him just yet. She took out her kit and began to clean the biggest wound in preparation to patch it up, so she could get him somewhere safer. "Can you hear me?" she asks him, worry in her voice.

Bentanger was drifting peacefully in a dark blanket of oblivion, when a small sound penetrated his peace. It sounded like a faint and faraway voice, and as it reached his ears, he felt himself being pulled inexorably toward it. As he drifted, he felt the twinge of pain returning to his side, until by the time he came to enough to feel the ground beneath him, the twinge had turned into a full blown burning mass of agony, and he could feel something moving against it, making him wince and open his eyes. He saw one of the carnival jesters leaning over him, and he realized it must be one that had found him in his latest humiliating and painful defeat. At least this time someone had found him at all.
He tried to focus more on the female as he moved his hand gingerly to the jagged wound in his midsection, as though confirming that it was there and causing him to bleed into the ground and turn the edge of his vision red. "Hnnnng....."

The jester watched as the cat started to come around. When he reached for the wound she tried to keep his hand away. "No, no, don't touch it.. I'm trying to clean it so I can wrap you up and get you somewhere safer," she gently scolds him. "Sorry it hurts so much, I tried to put some numbing salve around it but..." she trails off, not really wanting to talk about how big of a hole was in the cat. She was just really trying to do a quick field dressing, planning on doing more once they got to the healer's tent. Finishing up the side she was working on, she apologizes again, before attempting to roll him over to work on the back side, which was going to be more of a mess, as he'd been laying on the ground.

Ben focused more on the voice, finding it easier now that he was back in the land of the conscious. Still, the raw wound burned like fire, even though he had heard her mention numbing salve, and he wondered vaguely what it would feel like WITHOUT the edge taken off. He gritted his teeth as he allowed himself to be rolled over, though he couldn't stifle a gasp at the feel of his injured insides rolling around together in ways they never meant to be. he quelled the urge to lash out in rage and pain; he knew the healer was only trying to help, and it WOULD be better if he got somewhere safer before another cursed came around to try his luck.
((How many posts did we need for this to count? I forget. XD))

Henrietta winced as well as she turned him over, and cleaned off the dirt and debris from this side of the wound. Man, she didn't want to see the weapon that had done this to him up close and personal. She washed blood away, put more salve around this side of the wound, and went about patching this side up. Only then would she be able to make a wrap around his midsection and hope to get him back without losing anything else from his insides. (I think akki said 5, but we can go as long as you feel comfy XD I will brb though need to drop my friend off, won't be long)

Ben could feel her fussing over the exit wound in his back, and he was rather glad that he couldn't see just how bad it was. He hoped it had missed his wings; he realized with some pain-laced amusement that he hadn't even tried to use them during the fight. He wondered if his mistress would tear them off as punishment; it would be a most deserving recompense. he tried to hold still for the healer, and focused on the red-tinged rocks not far from his battered face. He blinked in surprise as he suddenly realized that a familiar weight was missing from his neck. He wasn't able to look down, so he carefully, trying not to disturb the healer's ministrations, brought his hand up to feel around his neck. What he found, or rather didn't find, caused a broken growl to rise up from his throat. "That.....b*****d.....took my collar......"

Henrietta was just finishing up dressing the wound and was about to get out the wraps to put around his midsection when she heard the growl. She thought she'd just hit a particularly sore spot before he spoke what was bothering him. "Oh, oh my, well I suppose it's no surprise from those horrible cursed, but I'm sorry about that," she says, laying the wraps around him and turning him back over to fasten them. "There. This should be good enough to get you to the healer's tent in one piece, more or less," she tells him. "Can you walk? I can't believe I didn't think to bring a sled out, after last time," she sighs.

Ben could only mentally shrug; it wasn't the first time he had heard about the cursed taking trophies, and he had heard of plenty of worse things being taken, like ears and horns. There was even an instance of a scrap of cloth taken from the back end of a robe, but nobody would have wanted his raggedy old things. It made his defeat sting all the worse, and he told himself that as soon as he was feeling better, he would hunt down that b*****d and get his collar back.
In answer to her query, he tested his wings, smiled a little to find that the blade had missed them, and used them to lighten his body and allow him to awkwardly rise. He knew that they would eventually tire, but hopefully the tent wouldn't be far. "I'll try........it's okay.........th-thanks." He wobbled a little as he stood, but managed to keep himself upright. He just had to concentrate on not falling back down in the dirt until he got to their destination; how hard could it be?

Henrietta was glad to see his wings worked as well. She watched him still move a bit awkwardly and though she nodded at him, offered an arm. "You can lean on me if you want. The tent's not far, then we can get you some proper care and some better pain killers," she said, smiling ruefully.

Putting his pride aside for the time being, Ben was happy to accept the offered arm, slowing his wings so that they did not get in the way and beat the healer from her being so close. "Okay," he said with a nod, head already drooping from fatigue. Before they were to set out, he stole a small glance at the healer, remembering her face and dress. She would be excluded from his general games of finding out shameful secrets from any who did not follow his mistress; unless of course Hex commanded him to, and that of course was providing she would even have him back after the failure he had been in this war. Nodding once more to himself, he devoted the rest of his concentration to putting one foot in front of the other, and occasionally flapping his wings to keep himself light.((I think this does it; thank you! ^_^))
