”I think that is a worthy path for someone with twin blades. You can get very intimate with your magic, in a way that you cannot with the spear or the bow...” she smiled and leaned towards Briella conspirationally, ”I've been... experimenting... with magical weapons. I think you will like what I can make these days....” her smile grew bigger, ”Let me know when you are ready for your next weapon...” she leaned back, her face eager. Magic weapons were her passion and she trusted Briella enough to work with her closely on something experimental.
As for class... She could easily imagine Ilyra in either role... more likely that of a sacred heart than of a Guardian, but who knew what beasts she had picked up in her travels?
”Had I fought... I think I would have been an Amazon. I have had to work hard to hone my magical senses to incorporate magic into weapons – very hard.” a half-wistful look crossed over her face, ”I would have been a bow-woman.” she said. She didn't know if she had ever told Briella that fact.

Her eyes went wide. "You have!" This was such a relief. She worried that she would have to go elsewhere for her blades, but Dyakida was the best. This meant that she would be able to get one from her, things were looking up. "That's amazing. I'd be more then happy to try out your weapons. I'd be happy to show off your skill to the others." she said with a laugh.
She frowned. "But the very fact that you've been able to means you might still have some talent with magic?" maybe Dyakida could still do something with magic. You didn't need eyes for magic, right? "I think I remember that, you were really good with the bow? Right?" they were young when everything happened to Dyakida.

“I was good enough, yes. I wouldn't say I was amazing.” she said modestly, “But at close range I still used a quarterstaff. Perhaps if I had used a spear, the beast would never have gotten a chance to spray me with venom.” It was an incident she had thought about a lot, “Or perhaps it would. I never had the grace or coordination for a closer-ranged weapon.” Which was ironic, now, where she had to be delicate and coordinated for her craft. She smiled. “Excellent. I don't have many people who could test them for me – a surprising number of the Sisters I live with now are Amazons or on the track to being Amazons. I should be grateful that they are not Guardians, otherwise I would have to navigate around battle trained beasts! But, luck of the draw, only two of them are Sacred Heart trained and neither are willing to try weapons other than their own. They also are a little blunt – they wouldn't test them delicately.” she laughed, “Which means it is especially good that you're here now.”She thought for a moment. “Mm. Well, if I had talent... Tell me, Briella, does magic come easy to you? Can you summon it forth whenever you wish, or is it more difficult, like pushing a stone over a hill?”

She rolled her eyes. "Those that are truly amazing rarely admit it." she teased. As Dyakida went on she frowned, they were now broaching a subject that she didn't particularly like. "As horrible as it is, I think that everything is bound to happen no matter what. No matter if you had a spear, bow, or swords. What happened would have still happened." she knew that not many shared her view on this, but it didn't bother her. To each their own.
She nodded. She thought that becoming a Guardian was extra work, but worth it. It was too bad that she had already picked her path, having a mount would make fighting easier sometimes.
"Oh no you misunderstand. It's VERY hard for me. Ilyra seems to be better, but even she struggles with it. Sometimes I can't even get it to work for me. However when I can it's pretty strong. I hope with time I will get better. At least by the time I reach my next stage."

Dyakida fell silent, squinting as her good spirits suddenly flagged. Was Briella saying that what had happened was fated to happen, that the universe had been determined to make her unable to fight? That, no matter what she had done with whatever weapon she had chosen, she would have still had to watch her vision slowly leave her – an edge here, a light there – until finally nothing remained? She clenched her teeth – Dyakida refused to believe in that kind of hopeless fate, where her actions and choices counted for nothing. She wanted to retort, to tell her sister that that was crap and she wouldn't have it, but...
But this was a happy occasion. Her sister had returned from a long, arduous journey. ”Hmm. Perhaps.” she said noncommitally, forcing herself to relax. Now was not the time for such a discussion. Briella was home. Briella was home.
”Hmm.” Magic was a safer subject, one Dyakida would rather – much rather – be talking about. ”Well, I'm certainly not strong in it, but who knows. Perhaps I had an aptitude for a sublter element. Or something.” she shrugged, ”Magic, I have learned, is tricky. Very tricky.”

She nodded. "Being able to use magic, even as limited as I can, gives me a lot of respect for our Mystics as well as the earthlings that can use magic" it made one wonder, why so many earthlings could use magic and so little of her kind...
"Dyakida I'm getting sleepy, mind if I rest some? We really need to figure a way to get my sister and niece here. Maybe a dinner party? It will be an interesting diner to say the least."
draconicfeline I vote you end it here and then we start the dinner party, just our charries though. To throw Umbra in there would be madness!
