With so many successive failures, Gzifa began to ponder on the reasons for the lack of success. Was it her unpreparedness? There was only a sole occasion where she had lost all her food along the journey. Her horse constantly running into the bees was the main source of that problem, she recalled in annoyance, picking at one of the welts that was still healing. Then she had better get another horse, perhaps one that was smaller. But most of the time, the problem had been those stomachaches. She knew now not to eat food picked up from random places. And to wash her hands before each meal. There hadn't been any actual DANGER so far, just unfortunate circumstances. And with that, she was off once again. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 25 YOUR HP: 30

Gzifa was still a young and growing girl. Yes, she was still very short and light, but that might change in the future. She hated the way the rest of the knights and knight apprentices sniggered as she walked by, or them accidentally bumping into her turning the corners along the hallways. Just like this rather belligerent wild chicken that had been flapping about from tree to tree. A face full of feathers earned the wild fowl a vicious smack on the head and a twist of its neck. Dinner that day was slightly more nutritious, and the girl took great care to ensure that the fire had managed to cook all of the meat before consuming it. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 25 YOUR HP: 20

As much as she hated to admit it, she was still rather intimidated by large things. Tall people tended to cast very big shadows, and they usually won the physical battle. Wrapped up in a blanket, Gzifa still shuddered to think about her sparring session with the Knight Percival himself. Her first instinct had been to run away... and she need to change that. The bread in her hand was brought up to her mouth for another bite, and it was then she noticed the giant spider that had landed on her dinner. She screamed. The trek up the dwarven mountains wasn't exactly a pleasant sight. Gzifa grimaced as she observed the remains of fallen knights scattered along the path to the summit. Her horse had refused to accompany her for the climb, and so she was left to be alone, battling the gusts of wind and carefully treading through piles of bone. There was a terrifying howl in the distance, that the girl managed to convince herself that it was just the wind. Still there was a nagging question that burned at the back of her mind. What was it about this place that had successfully claimed so many lives. She'd find out all too quickly, as a giant axe appeared out of nowhere and came swinging down on her. Gzifa would recall Percival's words on defense and offense, drawing her sword to parry the attack. The axe would be deflected and it grazed her arm in the slightest. Gzifa stood in position, observing her surroundings and waiting for another attack to come. But all was quiet for now. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 20 YOUR HP: 15

The final stretch towards the summit had simply been a battle between her lightweight body and the unrelenting winds. Gzifa kept her figure crouched down as low to the ground and took steady, small steps up the rocky path. She couldn't quite stand tall to take in the view from the summit, but what of it she saw had been quite beautiful. There was no missing King to be found, but only a pair of gauntlets with some inscriptions. The girl figured she'd take this back as proof of her quest, and enjoy some well earned rest.
